  1. There were rumours of an island where a treasure laid to claim by the brave adventurers. Brave she might be not, but tempted by the treasures she was. Something that could be sold for gold, meant gold for her to buy or get someone to craft her Magical Tools. Or recipes for the more advanced things that Alchemy could offer. Not to mention that Alchemist Kit.. Or get materials needed for it. Or buy or ask to have crafted Light Armour. While what she had was no longer starting equipment it only changed visuals but gave her no bonuses.

So late in the game, it was a bout the time to get some money to get that stuff.

Which was why she was here, staring at the beautiful if alien ruins. In this world many different styles she had seen, but this was a first for her and for ruins, they were in amazingly good shape.

It was tall, taller than anything in the real world by many kilometres and it disappeared into the clouds; it was awespiring and perhaps it was foolish, but she spent good fifteen minutes just staring at it in silent awe.

Even if she did not get the treasure, she will still visit this place and that made it worth it in her mind.

“Well then.. time to go up.” She murmured and stepped on the stairs that lead up.

It was a gruelling march. The higher she went, the stronger, more biting the winds were. The march started to slowly sap her Stamana bar, but she did not stop, because then the winds would strip more of her health she feared. “Ugh.”

And the higher she went, the more thirsty she felt; good thing she had some alchemist brews akin to tea and bit of food. She nommed on the food and drank as she went higher. Casting a low regen to battle the cold which started to take away chunks of her health. The steps were treacherous and the path seemed long ahead, yet, she was determined.

...But even determination sometimes was not enough when the luck was against her. After slipping on a frozen step and rolling down all the stairs she moved up, she laid panting for moment glancing at her very low health bar.

Perhaps some other time she would try again, but for today that was enough. One could say that she was lucky to have survived it. With a small groan and last sad look at the magnificent place, she turned tail and retreated.

  2. Finding treasure meant he could progress further into power. Assuming, of course, the equipment he finds was of actual use to the man. Vendor trash was annoying and had the odd habit of stacking up in a player's inventory. In addition, the bearish man never went to Druuk Island yet. Or a least, he did not recall doing so. His memory was getting a bit fuzzy in recent times. Many things had passed and left Alonso with a sense of hesitation. Not just in his pondering logic, as was his process of making a decision, but whether or not his actions were worth it in the end. A growl escaped his throat, morphing into a sigh as his gaze wandered towards the ruins.

Maybe he did need to find an actual boy friend, as his kids insisted.

Observing the ruins he noted a few place holds he could use to regain his grip. No reason to fall to his death, as this game seemed to enjoy doing to players. Perhaps the developers had a thing for people jumping off cliffs. Silly thoughts for a forum post later. The man began his trek up the cracked, broken steps, all of which still remained stable enough to hold up his wait. Easy enough so far. Alonso managed to have a stable endurance. He reached for a ledge and pulled himself up, grunting as he continued to scale the ruined premises. Certain he made a good breach in elevation, the man looked up, "Oh goddamnit."

An hour, perhaps? Or was it two? There was no end in sight to these stairs. Alonso could have sworn it split at one point into diverging paths. He gave his respects to the environment designers for the proverbial hell shifts they must have had to endure in order to make this island exist. Yet, his mind swiveled back to reality, harsh breathing coming from his chest. His various meters lowered at steady rates, a piece of windswept debris smacking the man across the face. His body shivered, hands shaking as he kept his climbing stance for his center of gravity. Alonso shook his head, slapping his hand against a rare wall to recuperate.

He felt his body collapse onto the wall, pained grunts in tandem with his chest inhaling and exhaling. Alonso went too far, and he knew it. Shame etched upon his face, the man waited for a good time before heading back down and avoid risking death.

  3. It was the adventurer's first time on the island and he had instantly despised almost everything about it. So far he had seen couple after couple on the island; a thing that the man disliked. Sighing in contempt, Daren was about to ask for a voyage back home when he heard someone talking about a staircase leading to the clouds. Scratching the back of his head, young Daren chuckled ever so slightly and walked to the person that had spoken about it. Striking up a conversation about life and how the world seemed so beautiful, Daren was pleased to make small conversation, but he was actually aiming to learn about this hidden place. Did not most hidden places contain great treasure waiting to be rewarded to a player or even NPC?

The man that had spoken about it had then told Daren that all who had attempted to go to this place had either come back empty handed or died from a fall. This encouraged the young man to smile even more. Ecstatic about this new found information, Daren actually shook the man's hand and thanked him for the information. He had then asked the man for a general direction of the place and then ventured off after having been told. For the next hour or so he walked with a smile on his face and a song humming in his head.

Finally, after the approximate time of four hours, Daren had arrived at a mountain top, where he could see the rather large building that was home to well...he didn't know what called this place home. All that he knew was that who or whatever had made this building had created it in such a way that he could not help but admire it. Even if the inside was bland and the outside lacked markings, he could tell that it was quite old. Moving in silent admiration, the young man lightly placed his hand on the door and spoke to the building. "My name is Daren, it is a pleasure to see such a beautiful landmark." Softly he took hold of the door's handle and began to push it open.

The next few moments he spent gazing around the empty room, he could almost envision what it would have been like if he had been here during its early years. Then, he saw it. The stairs that led upward. Walking to the stairs he placed his hand upon the railing and then breathed in. A slight nervous fit was felt within Daren's head and stomach, This was the first time in many years he had ever felt nervous. Chuckling lightly, he began to ascend the steps.Even with the wind howling and pushing at him, Daren continued to push onward to see what was at the top.

Eventually, he had to come to the sad conclusion, whatever was at the top of these stairs...he would not see. After his journey, he had become far too tired to press onward. He shortly left the building.

  4. Ash hadn't meant to start climbing this entire thing, but she couldn't help herself. It just looked so uniquely interesting that she couldn't rest until she figured out what was at the top of the pavilion. She'd never seen anything like it in real life, or in Terrasphere. It certainly wasn't what she was expecting to find on Druuk Island, but she wouldn't take this opportunity for granted. She'd been meaning to see a lot more of the world and when would she get another chance like this?

She began ascending the staircase. But she quickly discovered how tiring the ascent was as the steep stairs began taking their toll on her. Her swift progress on the earlier levels did not last very long, and soon she was pausing to take breaks every few dozen steps. After a while, it was like Ash was running a marathon every handful of steps, and her breaks grew more frequent and longer.

The pavilion seemed to stretch into the sky from the ground, and from how exhausted she was, Ash felt like she had to have been more than halfway through, but looking up to see her progress would've involved leaning too far back for her comfort. She'd just have to content herself with the knowledge that she was still slowly, but steadily, making headway.

The winds began to pick up after some time. At first the cool breeze was refreshing on her sweat-soaked skin, but they grew harsher and harsher the more she progressed. But eventually she struggled all the way to the top, practically collapsing onto the flat roof of the pavilion.

She couldn't even appreciate the view, she was just that exhausted. After what might have been minutes or might have been hours, Ash pushed herself up and began to investigate. She found the plate easily enough, and mulled over the words. And then took a deliberate, careful look over the ledge.

Well. The plaque did say 'downfall'. And talking about immortality, casting off the mortal husk, yada yada yada. Couldn't kill what was already dead? Maybe.

  6. Noah stood at the base of a massive structure. As his head cocked up to admire the building before him, he was unable to find the top. He had heard rumors of this place from some old woman in a nearby town. She had told Noah that many people had tried to climb the structure but due to the strong winds it became too hard for them to reach the rumored treasure. Noah was not the sturdiest player out there and he had no magical skills that would keep him in place up there at the top of the tower but what he did have was determination to find treasure that nobody else had been able to obtain. He was after all trying to become Terrasphere premiere treasure hunter.

Near the center of the structure he saw a staircase that seemed to spin up into the heavens. There was nothing to really grasp onto on this stairwell so the wind must have been quite dangerous at the top for so many bodies to have been blown off into oblivion. Noah started his journey up the winding stairs, around and around and around he’d go. If the wind did not blow him off, he might become too dizzy to stand straight. After ascending a kilometer or so from the ground, the winds really started to pick up. They howled intensely and bitterly causing Noah to wish he had a coat and a pair of lead shoes. He pressed on though, the thought of getting treasure was too great of motivation to keep him from stopping. After what seemed like hours of walking in circles Noah finally reached the top. The winds were still blasting him but he was also met with a breathtaking view, a sea of white clouds stretched on for as far as he could see.

Floating there in this heavenly domain floated a single chest that was adorned with gold and magical runes. Noah fought the winds to walk over to the chest and read the golden plate. It seemed that the person that forged the chest and tower was doing so to reach the gods of this world. It seemed that he did not enjoy what he found. It was a sad little tale but Noah was more curious to see what was in the chest. He attempted to open the chest and discover what treasure had been tucked away up here for all these eons resting in the heavens themselves.it was in vain though. As he attempted to open the chest a strong gust of wind came from nowhere blowing him off the structure and to his death down below.

  10. Her steps were large and heavy, pants and feet planted on the terrain of the mountain. In order to progress on a quest she received from an NPC, Ju was sent to Druuk Island. Apparently, some old but trusty methods of casting could be found on this mountain assigned for her in a quest. Her vivid pink hair fluttered as wind and the cold started picking up the higher her feet led on the mountain path, until she could finally see her destination; Although much to her dismay, something felt off about the place.

To begin with, its style was new to her. Huan-xiang was no architect but based on previous experience and travels around the world of terrasphere, Ju never had come across a structure with such unique yet archaic style. She eyed the map given to her by the mage that sent her in the quest, only to release a loud sigh and press onward moments later, hey eyes glued on the strcuture stretching on beyond the clouds and what her eyes could see.

Upon nearing the center of the pavilion Ju could see stairs going up in a spiral towards the what many would believe to be the goddamn heavens. She grimaced, imagining her fist sinking in the old mage’s face. If this was not worth it, she would make sure to pay him back dearly. With utmost care, she began climbing and forcing her way through the elemental hazards eating away at her health points and other needs.

The pink-haired woman gritted her teeth and continued on not giving the meters much thought or worry. On her mind, she would get this thing and just ignore the quest altogether. As she finally reached top after dealing with the previous ordeal however, the map she used to reach the place snapped out of her leather belt, opening itself on her face. Only then she realized that the map was turned upside down.

“...FUCK!” an anger vein popped up on her right temple as she threw the map away in the calm nothingness of the place she reached. She could see clouds and more clouds, although something caught her attention; a chest.

She approached the container, raising her left brow in amusement as the chest floated with some sort of fancy magic, perhaps. She didn’t even tried to open it up at first – she had been through one of these cases before, though this time around her goblin wasn’t around. When checking the place for some sort of way to open the chest, the pink haired fighter found a gold plate with a message. She glanced to the gold plate and the chest, only to then gently push it over the ledge, seeing it fall down towards the clouds.

  12. Rein let out a mad cackle as he walked down a random trail somewhere deep within Druuk Island. Why had he even come here? Or how? Rein wasn’t quite sure to be honest. He had boarded a ship in Stockbon, smuggling himself among the cargo. They had apparently found him midway through their journey, but only after he had gotten into their rum which in turned lead to the rest of the events becoming a drunken haze. After all was said and done he woke up deep within the uninhabited area of the islands forest. Pushing forward in a random direction he found himself climbing a mountain. This would seem a horrible task for most adventurers but given Rein’s Aeromancy he was able to force the winds to compensate his weight allowing him to move rather freely. His goal at the moment was the large tower looming over head. If he could get to the top he could see where exactly he was, and hopefully glide his was down to civilization.

After some time he was able to make it to the base of the tower happy to exit the humid jungle to enter its barebones interior. If Rein was a normal person he’d likely find the lone staircase imposing and simply walk away, but not being of sound mind he merely decided it was the perfect thing for him, and strode his way towards it, leaping up the steps with aeromancy enhanced hops. This continued for quite a bit longer than he had anticipated, and soon the humid air was replaced with icy gales that threatened to freeze him. Though they weren’t able to do so, they clearly had managed to freeze the stairs underneath his feet, making every jump a feat of acrobatics to nail the landing.

With his Aeromancy skill unable to propel him upwards in a quick manner, Rein was forced to take the stairs as a normal person, instead redirecting his mana to protect him from the brutal winds. After a long struggle he finally managed to make it to the top of the structure only to see that all he could see was the sea of clouds that huddled around beneath him. In rage, he paced, further succumbing to the frigid temperature. He wouldn’t last much longer. Still despite this he saw the chest seemingly floating near the ledge of the ceiling. Without thinking Rein strode to the chest, and aimed to give it the swiftest and strongest kick he could, hopefully knocking it off its invisible perch, when this likely failed he’d jump down past it, using his aeromancy to help buffer his fall.

Of course he didn't manage to get near it, the cold was just too cold, and instead he lept off another side of the tower to saftey, leaving all together.
