Personality
Astor is a self-possessed logician with a strong sense of justice and duty. With boundless creativity and an open-mind, he excels in solving mysteries and is capable of many mental tasks. Unfortunately, his aptitude also comes with a snarky, sarcastic, and condescending personality, which may make him come across as cold and assholish to many people.
When he is absorbed in an idea or an interest, it often turns into an obsession that will haunt his dream until he either “solve” it, or loses interest in it. A lifelong obsession of his, however, involves punishing crimes and evildoers regardless of whether it is in the game, or in real life.

Biography
Born to a Vietnamese couple who were both nurses, Dieter was the oldest of three children. Although he had a wonderful childhood, his younger brother was reported missing when he turned 10. The boy was found a few weeks later, floating in a lake. The autopsy report revealed that he was strangled to death before he wrapped up in a garbage bag and thrown into the lake. Although the police caught a child molester the following year under suspicion that he was responsible for the children’s murder, many of the facts did not match up, such as the fact that there was no sign of sexual abuse. Despite the family’s begs and pleas, the police eventually closed the case as solved.
This event was responsible for shaping Dieter’s strong sense of justice and vindication. It spurred him to join the police academy right out of school and joined the Boston Police Department (BPD) as a full-time officer. His aptitude and creativity had led him to solve a number of cases that got him promoted to the ace detective of the local force. With ruthless investigation and the ability to enter the mind of criminals, Dieter treads the thin line between good and evil to protect the innocent and put criminals behind bars.
Unfortunately, his zeal got him into a shootout, which resulted in a gunshot wound to the chest that put him out of work for a few months. While he was hospitalized, however, he received the access key to Terrasphere. Shortly after that, he was commissioned by the Division of Virtual Regulation and Safety (DVRS) to investigate the mysterious VR game. He reluctantly started the game… with zero expectation of the new world he was about to enter.
