After the grand battle with Titanius, most players and adventurers in general scattered all about the land of Terra once more, like they always used to. Deadly circumstances, Titanius, and world threats aside, she saw herself before a rather large tavern so lively that she could hear the cheers and blabbering from inside. “Hmm, if what I heard from some adventurers is true, then this might be it.” Leona mused to herself before entering the establishment.
Inside, the massive painting of a Drowned Mermaid could be seen. After several minutes trying to get the attention of a barmaid amidst the festive madness, Leona finally managed to make her request. There was a specific reason she chose this noisy, popular, and somewhat expensive tavern — they were the only ones who could afford meals with meat only. Yes, that was another weird quirk she had to deal with ever since she fought the world class enemy. Not that she cared, really. It was a good way to eat to her heart’s content without fearing any consequences in reality!
WHAM.
Before her a large plate was slammed against the hardwood, the brilliance and steam of the meat were mouth watering. Not waiting any further, she dug in. That aroma, the sweet taste of flesh, the succulent consistency was just right to jolt happiness through her body and make tears well up at the corner of her eyes — It was just so good! But even so, Leona was pretty sure she never liked meat that much. As she munched on her delicious meal, she wondered if that had something to do with those so called death afflictions as well…
"OOOOOOI! YA HEARIN’ ME, YOU BITCH!? WHERE MAH BOOZE, HUH!?"
From the center of the Tavern a (even among the ones in the tavern) voice stood out, as he tried to order the barmaids the way he wanted, disregarding other customers and order in the establishment. Noticing he was ignored for the most part by everyone else, he stood up and puffed up his chest while scanning his immediate surroundings. He had to teach these commoners that he was above them all, and someone would have to be used as exam--
Scratch that. A large grin stretched on his face as he saw a girl with a light and pink hair that stood out like a sore thumb. For several minutes, he flirted and annoyed the pinkette in an effort to try and just once make her gaze at him… Yet, the moment he touched her, Leona quickly held his harassing arm and locked him down on the wooden table in a submission hold. The sclera in her eyes slowly turned black.
“You, mister, are very much annoying. Shut it. Pay for what you ordered and leave. Now.”
After an awkward mix of words and shrieking, the man complied and stormed out of the tavern, fearing for his well being. The other clients cheered on as the one interrupting their festivities was gone. With all that said and done, Leona could enjoy her mea--
Bitter. It was bitter, enough to make the pinkette puff her cheeks and forcefully swallow it. Turns out that when she was doing her heroic order shenanigans, the man’s mug full of stinky alcohol dropped right on top of her meat, spoiling the taste completely. She looked at her beautiful meal… Teary eyes and a wavy mouth were plenty to show just how broken her heart was. She had put so much effort on working as an adventurer and paid so much money for that… Heroic feats? Not when her meat was spoiled!
"I can't afford another one..."
