It looked like their combined efforts were enough to get them through the relentless blizzard without freezing, which aside from their physical health also lifted Vina's spirits. Not even the fact that she was warm, but the fact that everyone managed to work together sufficiently to ensure that nobody suffered the wrath of winter was enough to make the druidess happy and more enthusiastic, determined to help everyone get it through this.

When they finally reached their destination the white-haired Felis gripped her staff tightly, now that it was time to enter the enemy's stronghold still becoming nervous despite all the encouragement she got from both Zeus and the cooperative spirit everyone was showing. You'd think that with an entire group of adventurers heading towards your base you'd set up some defences, but the absolute lack of resistance from the bandits that they were planning to forcibly evict from Astorea just made her more nervous, since she doubted that the lack of defences was due to incompetence. Optimistic as she was Vina didn't think that a group of bandits could have claimed a small portion of Astorea for themselves if they were actually incompetent. It would have been nice if that was the case, but for now she'd stick with the more realistic belief that the bandits were trying something but that the Lion's Pride would be able to deal with it.

When the actual enemy showed up Vina first yelped and jumped back, surprised by the sudden intrusion where walls were broken and some kind of giant monster charged right into the formerly empty feasting hall, followed by a bunch of bandits. Shaking her head the druidess quickly began to chant, gathering her energy which coalesced as a green glow around her staff as she sought out three targets to boost. She knew of three people who'd definitely go on the offensive, and who could use a little bit of extra oomph to their attacks.

Finishing her chant she released the energy, watching it wrap around and infuse her three chosen attackers while she immediately began to prepare her next spell, this time planning to heal anyone who got wounded by the certain counterattack.

    profile

As battle ensued and one by one the bandit forces were cut down by the powerful adventurers, more and more attacks managed to pierce through their defenses. The bodies of the defeated hit the cold stone floor, lifeless. When the lions were about to have a chance of attacking the primadox, the beast roared once more. The roar was strong enough to make most of rubble around fly outwards, making an even bigger mess of the hall.

And then, from its legs, crystals were raised up and consumed the bodies of each fallen black wolf bandit. Ignoring the laws of nature the vile curse raised the dead bodies, each moaning in a meaningless attempt to scream their pain. The crystallized zombie bandits continued attacking the adventurers, though thankfully their intellect to taunt and reflect damage was now gone.

Haru was in a grim situation, it seems. He wasn't sure exactly what was driving these people after their deaths, but it seemed to have to do with the odd sort of crystals growing on them as an almost parasitic entity. The entire situation was quite gruesome, and it was only made worse as his mind could and did think of how this non-consensual dual life existed, and the processes that could be taken for something to hijack the brain of a creature. It was mostly science-fiction playing out in his head, but that didn't mean he hasn't seen plausible theories on how the process could affect something larger than a common ant.

The thought that appeared when the bodies rose was quickly tossed away when the amusing thought of Zeus falling in a pit like a cartoon character replayed in his head. Oh, it was too amusing to let his spirit fall. And speaking of that... "My, they don't seem particularly happy with this outcome." Haru took note of the stray spirits that had been appearing over the course of this skirmish. He had certainly thought he had been seeing the fleeting shapes of people who didn't exist on his way over to the expidition, and he could've sworn he saw man and women collapsed in the recesses of the blizzard, crying. This only confirmed it for him, though. He takes a look to his side, at the ghost of some spellcaster looking mortified at his own body.

"You there, mister mage," He points to @Savannah Reed ahead of him, who bravely charged into the dwindling horde at the great monster to protect someone in front of her. He was greatly impressed by her. However, it seemed she was trying to not flinch at some change in temperature. "You wore red. Were you a mage of Fire? I ask of you, could you warm that woman up from the cold?"

Savannah might find the sudden assault of temperature upon her recede.

    Summary: Heal Savannah 11

Unlike Savannah, Luna's one visible eye was wide with nothing but pure terror as she took in the visage of the giant creature that stood in front of her, finding her legs to almost immediately start shaking from the fear that such a gargantuan behemoth could cause, watching with a sinking feeling in her heart as bandits flooded the room in waves, finding herself unconsciously sticking closer to Savannah as the woman's words about protecting her caused both a sense of ease and upset. Why did she need to be protected still, even after all of the training that Lucia had put her through? That she herself had put her through? Natiri growled and roared by her side, though she wordlessly gestured for the creature to stick by her.

Suddenly, Savannah pushed her backwards and she stumbled, watching the woman's axe cleave through the creatures wrist. She whispered a silent apology to herself, hands cupped to the left side of her head as she wordlessly prepared a simple attacking spell, teeth grit as purple arcs of energy lanced off of her body, before she thrust her arms out and a beam of purple energy traveled from her outstretched palms and slammed into the creature's injured wrist, rending its flesh even more.

She huffed a breath, arms by her sides as she stood just a little behind Savannah, fixing the creature with a serious look. "I-I'll stand with you! D-don't let me s-slow you down!"

It was a good thing she’d passed on that snowball fight, because it was damn cold. After a three-day journey in a rolling igloo with the rowdiest, noisiest players she’d ever been stuck in close-quarters with, Destiny was pretty much done. Sending hate mail to Crane once an hour cheered her up, but when they pulled up next to that suspiciously unguarded castle… hell, @Roland Rutledge called it. That thing had "trap" written all over it, and this gal wasn’t gonna be taking no arrow to the gut because she didn’t have a damn scrap of metal to defend herself with (she’d returned @Alphabet Chocolate ‘s dagger, regrettably.) She’d be stayin’ with the horses, thank you very much, and that was that.

“Mm, don’t look at me like that,” she said to the horse, a dull brown beast who looked like he’d been rented out in a blizzard one time too many. It looked at her blankly. “I’m not goin’! I did my part! Hey. Don’t gimme that guilt trip, c’mon.” The horse had literally done nothing except stand there, looking swaybacked and barely conscious of its caretaker. Destiny patted its cheek. “Aww. We’re bonding. Fine, hell with it, let’s go!”

So they made it in through the doors just before they closed (the horse came too—it was so used to trudging through the snow at this point it just followed behind her) and, as expected, things immediately went to hell. “Crap. I changed my mind, move!” She pushed uselessly against the animal’s flank as the first few Lions charged into combat, slicing down enemy bandits with eerie skill and precision. Not that Destiny saw most of it, since a horse’s ass was blocking her view. “Arright, fine, just stand there then.” It could at least shield her from some of the frostbite radiating off that thing!

…And then there were zombies. Goddamnit. “Move, move, horsemeat! Heyah, go!” Destiny pointed down a straight line of shuffling figures and turned the horse loose with a slap on the rump. Since the pack animal was every bit as spooked as Des, it took off with a frightened whinny, galloping down the feast hall and knocking undead bandits over like bowling pins. She saw at least one get squashed under its hooves. Hope the horse lives. I gotta return it once this is over, after all. Too bad she’d lost her meatshield, though…

Hahaha, yes, yes, of course the bandits wouldn't be the type to play around in sieges and shit! Of course it would be a concentrated attack and a moving battle through a labyrinth of deadly traps and monsters instead! No attrition, no grind! Just all in, all out! Zeus and his cadre of adventurers were on the back of Cain's mind as the midnight haired muse breathed in the raw essence of chaotic, desperate combat. There was no one they were protecting here. There was nothing exceptionally tragic or gruesome about it. This wasn't a war at all! Just a grand battle for everyone to have fun in!

The Crystallized Primadox rattled its chains with its roars, infinitely monstrous and wreathed in frost ice, while the freshly dead rose, brought forth to be slain by steel and sorcery a second time. There was a necromancer here, certainly, and for a moment, Cain's dark eyes narrowed, flickering about for that telltale sign of dark magic being cast. But there wasn't a wisp, nothing that could be seen in the immediate vicinity.

"@Alphabet Chocolate, undefeated mistress of the stabbity stab weapons, I've got a mission for you! This cesspool of evil hides a demonic death raiser, and as the mightiest warrior of all the lands of Terrasphere, it falls upon you to seek and destroy them! Charge onwards, brave youth, and cleave apart the puppeteer of the dead!"

Yes, he was indeed in his element now, imaginary veins filling to the brim with mana as his gilded lute spun in his hands, strings thrumming like the beating of his heart. Accelerate, enhance, and exist! While the deadly dance continued around him, death and destruction but centimeters away, Cain remained in the eye of the maelstrom, exuberant and exhilarated after finally being able to stretch out his legs. This was her debut, this was her chance to prove herself amongst the veterans and newcomers of Terrasphere.

    “Let’s make a statement, @Seigi !"

A sharp voice cut through the quagmire of conflict, as glorious harmonics thrummed through the hallways of the Bandit King's Fortress.

Rolling thunder cascaded over the bare fists of the Sunset Sage, the same brilliantly lightning that crackled on that mountain in Norfova.

The creepiness of the seemingly abandoned hall gave Comet bad vibes, and she drifted closer to @Magdalyn with every step that sent the groups further into it. Being uninterrupted by the rough Caenis tribe wasn't any misunderstanding. They were going to pull off a classic ambush, she knew, and kept both an arrow and her bow out as soon as they'd entered the massive building. "You think? It's pretty obvious what's gonna go on here." she teased with a raise of thin brows genuinely concerned about the well-being of her Wagon's members, most of it directed towards herself and Mags. Things should go well considering the extensive force of those who decided to participate as Lions or beside them, or so Comet hoped. The newbies hardly had equipment to cover their backs, but powerful players were there as a sort of cover to prevent them from suffering too much hardship along the way. Feeling comfortable - despite the bone chilling coldness proving to be inescapable - in decent leather armor allowed the Archer to grasp onto a much needed confident before real trouble began.

Speaking of the devil the slight pause to admire the hunting trophies with admiration had been destroyed by both a monstrous being and its "tamers". Unfortunately, the crystal disease and manipulation appeared to be powerful sources of the beast's ferocity. Bandits fell and rose again (much to the wrinkling of Comet's nose in disgust) due to what she'd only seen as Black Magic. Oikawa showed her up close the curses applied that could hurt or help depending on the user's intentions. What once was fascinating now became an annoying obstacle before the true goal at hand. Arrows drilled themselves into the undead flesh relentlessly. She didn't want to be reminded of the curses that came with the possibilities of such vile magic and knowledge while on the battlefield. Comet inched towards @Vina Skysong as a means to sort of protect the important healer should anything come her way (if danger could be caught in time).

After defeating(?) the @Grand Witch Majolica and her Witch Ops in a one-sided snow-ball fight thanks to their lack of cannons, the group finally proceeded with the plan. Just... no enemies?

"Maybe they learned their lesson and gave up!"
That was kinda anti-climatic and not fun BUT it meant no bloodshed. A step in the right direction. Or... a trap? But stupid dummy bandits wouldn't make a trap that included giving up all of their headquarters now, would they? Then again they were stupid bandit scum! So maybe it was true.

"NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR ENEMY." Seigi yelled out aloud more to remind herself than the others. Not taking your opponent serious enough was a step towards defeat.

As they continued their merry way, taking out the few guards and somehow not interrogating them, things finally started to kick into action. Her Idol, Zeus, falling right into a trap. "Clearly, he had this planned..." As the mighty Primmadonna appeared! Together with Zombie Bandits. "Absolutely awesome!"

This was it. Time for some action. Having been holed up for three days didn't deter Seigi's determination at all, her eyes only burning with more intensity. She had been looking forward to this.

"Alright. Remember this, @Valdrada @Celestine a TRUE HERO avoids killing if they can. You wanna give this bandit scum more chances in life to do better! The totally-not-as-awesome-as-the-flying-alligator-monstrosity thou... well." That was her target. There, she could go all out.

Which reminded her, upon seeing @Alphabet Chocolate and Hector doing things together. "Yo, @Alphabet Chocolate, watch this! Prepare for trouble JUSTICE..." Quickly navigating some menus to summon her own pet: A second Seigi. Mimicking all of her actions perfectly. "...and get busted! With Guts and Effort." !Seigi even said the same lines!

As @Cain Darlite buffed her further up - the double taking on the same thunder as the original - the hero-in-training gave the midnight haired muse a bright smile. "I'll keep going even if all the bones in my body break. Always onwards!"

"Heart of a Hero!" Together Seigi and !Seigi rushed forward. "The burning of youth!" Jumped upwards. "THE FLAMES OF A MAIDEN!" and gave the monster a good ol double-punch. "CERTAIN LOVE DUO PUNCH!" That was supposed to leave an impression, right?!

There were many events on the way, and as they all happened in a blur, Tetsunosuke wanted to at least cut the talk and drama and deal with these bandit scum, but since they might give a lead as to what they would face, he had to listen and watch to everything. None of them however told about this monstrosity that they were facing now.

It was a huge abomination that looks like a yeti and a walrus combined that could stand on two feet, controlled by a person which was riding on its back. The frigid air that surrounded the party indicated that the it could control the power of ice, and given the weather it would seem that it would have an advantage. What's shocking however, is that when his other partymates managed to defeat all of the humans around the beast, with a roar, the beast just zombified the humans, giving them the power to act. Logic should dictate that they should finish the monster here and now, and, with his boots kicking on the stone floor, Tetsunosuke was set on that action.

He ignored all the zombies that were in front of the beast and started to attack the beast itself. As he approached striking distance, he drew the tantou from his waist and attacked the beast as much as he could, and managed to slash thrice before he dove in between the beast's legs and then attacked the beast with the same number of times from the back.

"Zombies?" Magdalyn called out, tone thick with exasperation. Of course it was zombies. Had she not fought the reanimated corpses of her fellow players only a few weeks prior? This game seemed to have a strange fetish when it came to the undead, and it took delight in asking its players to kill things twice. So you killed it once? Be careful not to celebrate quite so soon.

The vast majority of their fighting force appeared focused on the boss, and for good reason. The monstrosity sent chills down her spine, both literally and figuratively. She could understand why players, and attacks would be drawn to it. Arrows whizzed by her head, and the air crackled with magic as dozens of people preyed upon a common enemy. It was, she realized, really quite impressive. One game, uniting all of these people, from all across the planet. Her heart warmed, despite the chill.

But she knew that there would be time for philosophy later. Instead, she had to focus on the task at hand, and watching @Comet fall into her battle stance was a great reminder of that. In fact, everyone had quickly taken up their position, support players dropping back, melee fighters charging forward. The ranged attackers, like the brilliant Comet, fell somewhere in between.

Magdalyn was not in the right spot. Her heart thundered with that intoxicating mixture of anxiety and anticipation as she lunged, expertly rotating her spear so that it's pointed end could be lodged securely in gut of a zombie bandit.

Tetsunosuke panted. He always expected that this monster was hard to kill, and hard to avoid damage from, but still it hurts. Even with his VR experience, it still hurts.

His weapon arm had some cuts from the crystals that the beast had on its skin, and the blood that was forming became hardened by the cold that was emanating from the beast's body. If this would continue, he might deplete HP and die from the compounded wounds. What's worse, the beast was not yet attacking much. Or maybe was it because he was too quick?

Knowing that he was quite a new player, it was imperative for him to expend his energy right here so that the higher-leveled players could tackle the main boss later. And so, shaking the pain from his head, he quickly charged once more.

With his tantou, he then jumped and dealt a barrage of swipes at the beast's neck, but regrettably it was not enough to decapitate the beast. With a quick spur-of-the-moment thought, he then decided to try to attack the limbs instead. Deciding on the same arm that he ended up damaging by his own attacks, he plunged the dagger on the right arm of the beast, and as he made a long gash on its arm he hoped that it could never use that arm again. He then tried to withdraw, taking back strides so that he could watch what the enemy will do next.

Alpha hadn't expected Roland's sudden appearance and, if she was being truthful, she hadn't given the purple-haired duke much thought during the past three days of travel. Being trapped in a cold wagon with little to do but constantly chatter and build igloos provided much of a distraction and now, as Alpha had finished off the last of bandits (well, until they revived as disgusting, repulsive zombies), she hadn't had any time to spare for unrelated thoughts. It wasn't until they talked a bit that Alpha remembered just why exactly she considered Roland her greatest current friend.

"C-candy?" she breathed, eyes widening as the reanimation of the bandits and the existence of the Primadox worried her no more. Her stomach growled and her mouth began to salivate at the thought. Giant Snickers and family-sized packs of Rice Krispies! Imagine her swimming in a pool filled to the brim with Lucky Charm marshmallows and Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Chocolate fountains and strawberry fondue! Caramel lava cakes and New York cheesecakes!

Hector, who was tensed up beside her, drooled a bit onto the floor; if it continued, then Zeus and his cohorts would probably be drowned in it. "Candy," Alpha murmured again, her eyes glazed as she herself drifted in her fantastical candy land.

With a lick of her lips, she smacked her gob open and stared at Roland's back with hunger warring against her excitement for battle. Fights were something she could pick at a tavern or by screaming in the middle of the woods. They were much easier to come by than the exquisite taste of sweetened desserts and confectioneries. It was an obvious decision in her case and, without a single ounce of doubt, she grabbed Hector by the scruff and, making sure the wolf was latched onto her like a parasitical creature, she made headway to Roland, sweeping through the rubble like a juggernaut with a mission.

"Candy!" Alpha shouted and, with magic whirling around her fingertips, she helped Roland the best way she could. "Hurry up so we can grab candy!" Alpha roared as she sped time up around Roland. It was an exhausting thing for Alpha to do, considering that she was manipulating time itself for her ally. But still, as long as she got her candy in the end, whatever lengths it took for her to get it made no difference to Alphabet Chocolate.

Emerath would have been lying if he had said he didn't enjoy the wagon ride. Between the hot pot, the good, given the circumstances, company, the music, and the ability to even work with Corvella using his tinkering knowledge. He even enjoyed the snowball fight that seemed to break out between the wagons at the very end of their journey, despite the fact that he had no ranged capability and was endlessly pelted

All in all, it has been a pleasant experience. But nothing but dread filled him as they continued into the empty bandit halls. This wasn't right. For a while, Emerath had figured that they had just gone to the wrong place. Entered some ruins or something. Nobody was home.

Of course, that all changed when they were ambushed. Within moments, everyone had sprung into action, absolutely decimating the bandits surrounding them with powerful attacks, before focusing on the big beast that had assailed them. Emerath tried his best to get moving with them, but his strong suit wasn't in attacking anymore. So he moved to someone he recognized in the chaos.

"Celestine, before you head into battle for great justice, or whatever your flavor is now, let me help you out!" he shouted as he ran up to her, and pulled out some chemicals, mixing them together. He mixed together a potion that would allow Celestine to focus her magic for extra damage. He lightened the taste of it with some cherry flavoring, hoping that it would be easier to get down. It never worked for cough medicine, but hey, maybe it would work here.

_____Kaede would need to deal with her fear of closed spaces at a later date, however for the moment things truly did not seem right about this location. Clicking her tongue as the large beast arrived along with an ambush leaving the group in a fight or flight situation. Thankfully the group seemed to do well enough against the numbers and started pouring attacks onto the larger threat, only to have another mass threat around them in the form of zombies. Eyes scanning the area slowly as Kaede mapped her route and slowly crouched down. Her voice picking up, not exactly intentional.

”Four of us should focus on anything that is not the large beast, I doubt that this thing and the bandits would only have two tricks up their sleeves given their reputation. If one of the supports could be among those four it would help.”

_____Kaede spoke in an effort to organize the group, not like she had to or felt any would listen to her. However it was still worth a shot and with it out of her way Kaede could focus on the smaller threats. Dagger slowly drawn before her frame shot off into the enemy ranks, the blurring red cloak working as both a way to know where not for her team to attack and who knows maybe the large beast was part bull.

_____Supressing the bad thought she focused on her work, weaving around the slower targets and quickly stabbing each she passed with one thrust to the skull, hopefully had any of her binge watching zombie movies taught her was aiming for the brain was how to kill one of these flesh walkers. While the idea they lived via the crystal Kaede would just have to double back to worry about that if it occurred. With quick work of the group it seemed the issue was dealt with quickly, holding her arm as ice snapped at her skin Kaede slowly moved her cloak to hide the damage.

”Anyone else glad that old man is not hear yelling to us when we are next to him?” Kaede tried to make slightly light of the situation, the less people worried, hopefully they could focus more on the threat before them. While some might need worry to focus Kaede hoped a lighter mood would work for this group as she got ready for another ambush.

The zombies having been dealt with rather quickly, Ilya closed her eyes for a brief second. The power that Vina had buffed her with may have been small, but Ilya let it course through her veins. She opened her eyes, narrowing them slightly as she flew into action. Her feet rooting to the ground and pushing her upwards, her body launching her towards the rather tall monster, the Primadox...

Bundling her elbow back to behind her body, Ilya coursed her energy into her attacks, bringing her fist forward. One after the other, punching the enemy right in between the dotted both sides of the face of the beast. Taking her sweet time, Ilya delicately launched herself off of his nose. Her feet barely missing the tips of the sharp tusks that lined the edge of its mouth. Rather elegantly flipping back to Vina's side.

"That was rather easy. Though it might get more difficult from here on out. Want to support me?"
Her eyes gently made contact with Vina's, the expression that shone in her eyes showing the warmth she felt towards her vixen companion.

Her tail flicked at her side and her ears tilted lightly as her eyes focused on Vina, yet remaining a part of her mind to keep tabs on the monster that was in front of the whole group that had gathered.
