  1. The female player couldn't hide the amused expression painted across her facial features. A playful glint, reminisce of the cat she now resembled, sparkled in her eyes. There were so many things she could say, so many words ready to roll off her tongue. Unbeknownst to herself, her tail continuously swayed back and forth at the impish thoughts in her mind.

Somehow the cat managed to bite her tongue. Nemean allowed the monkey-lion-cat-human to get to his wits. While it was far from a witty comeback he did supply her with information: information that verified her previous thought. Just as she thought this was a newbie spawning site. Well, that meant they should be safe unless this suddenly turned into a shitty first person shooter where players camped the spawn area. If that were the case, though, they'd both already be dead.

"Ding, ding, ding. You are correct - I am also a new player. Beastfolk are new to me too but you don't see me struggling." Naturally she didn't add the part where her own tail gave her a jump scare. "It seems you haven't hit your head too hard despite all of your stumbling." Nemean flashed a toothy grin. Of course she was just teasing him.

Adding animalistic features was actually a major adjustment; being able to hear and smell this well was going to take getting used to. Simply imagining entering a loud area made her wince. New York reeked as a human.. Hopefully they didn't have a place similar to her hometown in Terra or else her heightened senses would probably get the best of her.

"Do you have any idea where we are? Besides some spawning area. I haven't had time to play with the UI yet so I'm not sure how everything works yet." she paused as if remembering something. Unlike in other games they didn't have names hovering over them. Huh. Guess she'd better introduce herself before seeming rude. "I'm Nemean, by the way. Nice to meet'cha."

  2. A soft light emanates from where Ashnor begins to materialize atop of one of the many low hills across the Maithe Woodlands. As the process finishes, Ashnor opens his eyes too find a truly breathtaking and realistic view of the entire woodlands, complete with towering trees, fresh water ponds, and plenty of vegetation. "Whoa, they weren't wrong about the graphics" Ashnor says as after a brief pause to take in it all.

"Alright alright, enough of the scenery, let's take stock of our situation" He says, opening up the palm menu with a quick clenching and releasing of his fist. Looking in his inventory, Ashnor finds himself equipped with some basic cloth clothes - enough to keep him shielded from the environment, not as much from any enemies he encountered - and his chosen weapon, a simple hammer. Looking around for anything low level to start with, Ashnor spots a lowly slime and approaches it, ready to begin his first combat experience in Terrasphere.

As Ashnor closes in on then slime, the ball of sentient goo notices him and changes it's course to intercept him, hopping a bit faster than it was previously. Once he was within a few feet, Ashnor stopped his approach and waited, readying his weapon and it's ability for strike on the slime. Ashnor lunged at the slime as it came into range, his hammer beginning to glow weakly as he swung it down on the slime, successfully hitting it, and taking off about a quarter of it's health. "Wooh, this feels great" He said, as he dodged out of the way of the slime's now wonky attack. After a few more successful attacks along with some... not quite as good ones, Ashnor manages to defeat the slime. He kneels down inspecting his kill and any possible loot he can find, then stands up and looks around, hoping to find any other players in the area.

  3. It was a strange feeling, the sensation of your body being slowly constructed as you logged in. It was one that caused Luna to glance down at her own arms and body, opening and closing her hands to test the sensation. It all felt so real, she'd half expected it to feel muted and dull, as if she'd been wearing thick gloves. And her clothing was so strange, so much like the fantasy world she'd known she was going to be immersed into, yet hadn't quite been ready for just how immersive it would be.

She could feel everything that was new, like an itching sensation that demanded that she pay attention to it. She could feel her sudden association with Aeromancy, the flower on the right side of her face that she could somehow see through, chosen because she liked the look that it gave to her. A lock of white hair caught her off guard, not quite expecting the change from her usual purple hair, despite being the one to have chosen it.

She sighed, looking around before picking a random direction and beginning to wander, eyes roaming across the woods and the trees around her, stopping every so often to poke at some flowers or plants closer to the ground. The world was so pretty, so full of life and color, more unique than anything she'd ever seen in any garden or gardening store, it was breathtaking. It was almost overwhelming.

A sound suddenly caught her attention, a loud squelch that sounded like somebody had dropped their ice cream or jello, causing her to slowly make her way towards it. There! In a small clearing, there was a person standing over some pile of goo. Had that been a slime at one point? She swallowed, preparing to move the other way, before a branch cracked beneath her foot. She winced, before stepping out of the undergrowth. "U-um, hi there! I didn't mean to, uh, you know, spy on you! I-I just kinda...spawned nearby?" She waved shakily, gesturing to the direction she'd come from awkwardly. She....really didn't know what to say.

  4. Upon hearing a loud cracking sound in the bushes behind him, Ashnor quickly turns his head around to face a possible incoming foe. 'Oh god, please don't be a wolf, I'm not ready for that yet' Ashnor thinks, readying his hammer. As he was turning to look for what made the noise though, though, Ashnor heard the culprit apologizing for watching him.

Ashnor breathed a sight of relief and put away his hammer once he saw that it was a fellow human, another player he presumed. "Oh, hey there, you sure startled me for a second." Ashnor said, return in himself to a normal-ish looking stance "You shouldn't sneak up on people like that. I thought some big wolf was gonna attack me from behind. Why don't you come over her so we can talk, you said you spawned here recently too?"

  5. "A-ah, I'm uh, sorry I startled you." She awkwardly held her hands by her side, not knowing where to put them without pockets to stuff them into, coughing slightly as she tried to think up something, anything, to say. She hadn't really been expecting to come across another person quite so early on, just after logging in for the first time. At best, she'd expected maybe a tutorial range, or perhaps some sort of opening cut-scene that it somehow made her sit through. She really had no clue what to do.

She slowly, cautiously, approached the guy, keeping her eyes on him, not that he could see her right eye obviously. Maybe he had a little better of an idea than her of how to play the game, he seemed to have managed to kill something at the very least, if that little patch of jello was anything to go by. Chances were, it'd been a slime at one point. "Y-yeah, like I said, I just spawned a minute ago...in a clearing back where I came from. I uh, I don't know how to do anything yet..."

She coughed, looking around before glancing back up at the guy shyly, fiddling with her hands behind her back. "Uh, I-I'm Ev- uh, I mean I'm Luna. It's nice to meet you, um?"

  6. "no no, don't worry about it, I'm fine now" Ashnor smiled and brought up a hand to scratch the back of his head. He watched her as she slowly walked closer, noticing her awkward hand gestures and coughs, along with her cautious nature. Ashnor supposed a lot of people would be even a little bit nervous the first time they entered a game like this, it being an entirely new experience to most people.

Ashnor gives a small laugh "Heh, well, you're not much newer than me actually. I've only been in game for... Probably 10 to 15 mins, only thing I've really been able to do is deal with that guy over there." Ashnor points behind him, where all that remains of the slime is a pile of red looking gloop in the grass.

"Well, I think it all really depends on the masteries you chose, weather you use like, magic, melee, or ranged weapons." Ashnor says, his smile fading while he puts his hand on his chin to think about it. Suddenly, he pulls out his hammer, "I myself use this hammer, seems to work well enough. But it's certainly not the fastest weapon."

Ashnor sticks out his hand for her to shake, the smile back on his face, "My name's Ashnor, it's a pleasure to meet you, Luna."

  7. Well at least the guy seemed to be okay with the fact that she'd startled him. It'd have been pretty bad if he'd have been annoyed at her, or challenged her to a duel or something. She still had no clue what to do, heck she hadn't even figured out to check her own menu yet. She'd kind of glossed over most of the information about the game that'd been given to her before she'd logged in, having wanted to jump in as blindly as possible to give her the most fun experience.

"Ah, well I'm sure you might, you know, know a little bit more than I do. If there was a tutorial I never did it." God she was glad that he wasn't an NPC, or talking about tutorials and logging in would get mighty confusing. Hopefully there were NPC's in the game, she assumed so at any rate. There had to be some sort of faceless, nameless mass that the players were motivated to defend or something. Still, it was so amazing how realistic everything felt.

She watched him retrieve his hammer for a moment, staring at it for a moment before looking down at her own waist. She should've started with a sword or something, right? Where the heck was it? Did she have an inventory somewhere that she needed to access? Had it been there when she'd logged in?

She gasped, reaching out to tentatively grasp his hand, shaking it slightly before letting go again. Even contact felt super realistic. This was nuts! "Uh, nice to meet you too. Totally silly question, but um..." She paused, shuffling awkwardly and poking her index fingers together, god this was embarrassing. "Howdoyouopenthemenu?" She rushed out, before taking a breath and focusing. Surely it wasn't that embarrassing, right? "Um, how do you o-open the menu? I...kind of skipped past any information that it gave out..."

  8. "No, I don't think there is a tutorial, not one that I've seen, anyways, but this area is probably a relatively safe place where you can figure things out." Ashnor says, then quieting down to hear whatever her question was. It was probably pretty embarrassing, judging by how rushed she asked the first one.

As he hears her questions about the menu, Ashnor can't help but laugh. He manages to stifle the laugh and cover his mouth, but he's pretty sure she noticed. "I'm, heh, sorry, you said you don't know how to open the menu?" Ashnor chuckles, "All you have to do is close your hand into a fist, then open it quickly. Simple enough, right?" He finishes, then demonstrates by closing and opening his hand, resulting in a small menu to emenate from his palm, still chuckling quietly to himself.

"From there you can access you inventory and probably most everything else - I haven't looked through everything in it yet." Ashnor closes his menu then, and looks back at Luna to see if she had done it correctly.

  9. "D-don't laugh..." She'd honestly tried to shout, or at least raise her voice, but it came out as more of a muffled squeak that would probably be pretty hard to hear, were they not standing directly opposite from each other. She just wasn't the type to be capable of raising her voice much, though clearly the laughing did somewhat upset her, even if he had apologized for it. Apologizing didn't always make things okay straight away, though at least he was teaching her how to do it.

"Opening and closing your hand quickly..." She muttered, looking down at her hand. Couldn't that get annoying if you were trying to punch something, or grabbing at something, only to have your menu pop up and get in the way? Could that even happen, or was the menu locked during combat or something? She hummed, copying the guy's action and watching a small menu appear in her palm.

It was so interesting. It was like she could feel it, yet it also felt like it wasn't there. It was hard to explain. Using her other hand, she started to navigate through it, finding her sword in her inventory and also managing to pull up the list of her masteries, nodding when she found everything was as she'd wanted it to be. The options tab was particularly interesting and...wait...?

'C-conception? You can get p-pregnant in this game!?' The thought was rather alarming, in all honesty. What if you became a parent in the game? Couldn't that mess with your sense of realism? Deciding to leave it switched off, she switched back to her inventory and equipped her sword, a rather dull looking one handed short-sword that appeared sheathed at her waist. Nothing special. She was just a starting player after all.

"So um, Mister Ashnor? Do you know where players like us are meant to go, now?" She really had no clue what to do. Was there, like, a starting village or town somewhere?

  10. "Again, I'm sorry, it's just, I'm pretty sure it was in the email I got, so I thought you probably got that too." Ashnor waits until Luna seems to have gotten the hang of the menu, watching her face when she first opens it and then himself opening his menu, changing settings and such.

"Huh, I didn't know about the conception mechanic, it's probably disabled by default though. Anyways seems you've gotten the hang of the menu." Ashnor looks around reading that they should probably move on from here. He brings up his menu and opens up a map of the game.

"Yeah, I was just gonna say, we should get going at some point, no use standing around here forever. Looks like there is a town really close by, Honeyhome it looks like. I think I saw a path earlier, so that should bring us there." He closes his menu quickly and turns around a few times to get his bearings. "Ah, there it is" Ashnor points at a point a little ways away from where they stood. There was a seemingly well worn path weaving it's way through the huge trees and the bushs. The path continues off into the distance, where hopefully it will encounter Honeyhome.

Ashnor heads off along the path to honeyhome, not waiting to see if Luna follows him or not.

  11. Email? This guy had gotten an email about the game too? Maybe her usual habit of only skim reading emails and letters had finally landed her in a less than ideal situation, just like her mom had told her it would. Sure, there was no doubt that she was the only one to blame in this sort of situation, but at least it didn't seem too hard to figure out, now that she could open the menu at the very least. There was probably some sort of help screen somewhere that she could read through when she had enough time. Wasn't as if she had any excuse not to read it now.

"Uh, c-can you not mention c-con...THAT, again please?" Seriously, why was that sort of mechanic in this game? Who did that sort of thing in the virtual world? Was this that kind of game or was it just there for realism? Still, there was absolutely no way she was ever touching that option. Ever. "J-just don't, please?" She felt the need to stress the fact that she was not comfortable with it in any way, just in case he thought about pushing it again.

As for where they were heading next, Luna didn't bother to check her own map, simply following his directions to see the worn path, looking at it for a moment before shrugging. There wasn't much else they could do, in any case, unless they wanted to stand here and kill slimes all day. And that was a solid no on her part, at the very least. "I suppose we could go there, um, if that's what you want to do?"

But Ashnor was already on his way, walking off without her, not even looking back. Oh. Hey! Wait a minute! She huffed, looking around for a second before jogging after him in an attempt to catch up again. Had she maybe said something? Or was he just convinced that she'd follow after him? Maybe he had faith that she'd decided to travel with him or something? She didn't really know, but she followed anyway. The idea of travelling alone sounded dangerous and scary. She didn't want to be ganked or ambushed by herself, especially by wolves.
