With Falderen as their enemies, Amane wasn't surprised that food had become a bit of a problem, especially since many of the nearby farms and villages refused to trade with them by virtue of them hosting elves. While wild plants and herbs in the forest could sustain the populace, as would the small fauna that lived in the newly christened Astorea, she knew that surviving off such meagre portions would lower morale, and was hardly fitting of what should be a grand kingdom of players, home to the strongest warriors in this world. So venturing out and finding food elsewhere was necessary, and though its difficulty rating was several stars below what she normally sought after, the bounty seemed urgent enough that the sorceress felt compelled to volunteer.

Like all bounties she had to accomplish it in a party of two, but thankfully someone she had already been meaning to go adventuring more with happened to be online, his name lit right at the top of her friend's list. Opening a conversation with him, Amane crafted a message as she ran from Brisshal to Pormont. Thankfully she had been in the area — having to haul the boar meat across half the map later was going to be a pain.

Did you see the new bounty that was released? Turns out everyone's running low on food, and with how realistic hunger is in the game I figured it'll be good to lend a helping hand. Are you free to do some hunting?

As she sent it, the felis arrived at one of the many fields that made up Pormont's geography, her pace slowing as she creeped forwards warily, scanning the place for tiny cursors, blue or white in colour. Though the tuskarrs individually were probably weaker then her, judging by the difficulty rating of the task, the bounty briefing seemed to hint that they protected their family in herds of some sort, and Amane was loath to aggro an entire group of them. With her light armour the only way for her to avoid damage would be to dodge, and with multiples enemies that would be nigh impossible.

Spotting a group of cursors in the distance, with several greyed out ones among them — the piglets, undoubtedly — Amane skirted around the group, finding an outcrop of stone to hide against until Roland arrived. Leaning against the rock, she settled down to wait.

  2. Roland spurred his new mare forward with by squeezing its stomach with his legs as he had been told. He was still honestly getting the hang of it, he had never ridden a horse in real life, as he purchased it he hadn't realized how much of a chore it would be. Still, regardless of its difficulties, it would beat the endless treks, and throbbing shin pain from walking back and forth between all the areas, especially now that even more of the game had been unlocked. It had come at the price of betraying Falderan leaving his standing with the empire in disarray, but at least he could still work with the elves of Yldian. In fact, it was their stables where he had purchased the fine Blue Roan he rode to Portmont.

The beast seemed fickle at first, but after learning the ins and out of riding had really shared a bond with Roland. Despite this, he had yet to come up with a name for the beast. It was a female, so a girl name would likely do, he had considered the name 'Molly' but it just seemed to drab. A reptilian hiss came from his shoulder, it had seemed that his pet snakling hadn't taken to the new companion well. Likely because the attention it normally would receive had been diverted from him. Roland moved his finger scratching the lizard's chin when suddenly an in-game notification snapped him out of his reverie. It was from Amane notifying him of another bounty quest. What trivial things they were, but they paid well and helped increased the reputation of the quest giver. This time it was the elven kingdom, with a sigh he replied, "Might as well go all in with the elves for now I suppose." With a quick snap of his wrist, and tug with his thighs he sent the horse underneath him jerking forward to Amane's direction.

She wasn't to far away from him, luckily, and being on horseback made the journey even easier. Within a few moments he spotted the younger Felis leaning against an outcrop of stone while scanning one of the many fields of Pormont. "Scouting out the prey already are you?" Roland said with a chuckle as he dismounted his unnamed mare. Looking out before him, Roland tried to spot what Amane was focused as he tried to ignore his horse lovingly nuzzling his shoulder. It seemed they were after Tuskarrs, which were pretty much the Terrapshere equivalent to boars. They had the option of either slaying the adults or children, which made Roland think this was more about population control rather than feeding the needy. Focusing his eyesight he caught sight of an adult male digging for mushrooms near the base of a tree with his tusks. Roland flicked his wrist locking onto the enemy, while sending Amane a party invite. "I think this should be a good one to start with, what do you say?"

"Indeed," she replied with a small grin, "though I doubt anything in the vicinity will pose much of a problem for us, with our stats at the level that they are. Speaking of which," and here she paused, giving Roland's mare an appreciative look. She'd always been fond of horses — though she'd deemed travelling to and fro from the equestrian center as too great a time waster, and had passed taking up horse riding in favour of honing her other hobbies and her studies instead. Amane thus hadn't really seen a horse close up before, but the mare before her truly was beautiful, even if she didn't have much to compare her with save several online photos, her blue roan coat granting her an elegant air. "When did you pick up riding, and a horse?" She asked, curious. "Last I checked a few weeks ago, weren't all the stables closed?"

As she spoke, Amane twirled her fingers in the practised gestures of spellcasting, the movements for the simple buffs she needed so familiar at this point in time that she could probably trace them, subconsciously, in her dreams. To be honest, she wouldn't be surprised if she already did. It goes to show how thoroughly Terra Sphere had permeated and inserted itself into every facet of her life, that she'd become more concern with the number of seconds it took for her to get off a spell than the time it took her to solve a math problem. Moments later, as she finished the motions, several glows would envelop Roland's figure, applying various different buffs consecutively as she completed their respective invocations — something for damage, for cooldowns, and for speed. For now, the mage chose to avoid defence; she doubted Roland needed much help in that department, and the last time they had fought together he had held up remarkably well against overwhelming forces, needing nary a single heal during the entire siege.

"Fine by me," she confirms, her pre-battle preparations completed. Waiting to see if Roland would prefer to attack first and draw aggro, she chanted the beginning few words of her incantation, timing it slowly so that he'll have ample time to make his attack, if the dual wielder wished to. Regardless, a blast of light would arc out from her fingers, the Illumancy attack striking the Tuskarr in its flank, the scent of seared flesh perverting the air with the impact. Immediately after casting the spell, Amane quickly switched to another, different words pouring out of her mouth as she began casting once more. This time, upon completion large rings of crackling, purple energy would spring around the herd of piglets, fencing them in, the Arcanamancy crowd-control doing little damage due to her low mastery level, but still more than enough to serve its purpose. "Just in case," she explained. It might turn out to be an unnecessary precaution, but without their guardian to protect the piglets, it would be a pain later if the two of them had to chase every single one of them down.
