  1. As calming as the crashing waves and salty breeze were, if she drifted off any further she'd end up in the Emerald Garden again.

Madison sat meditating on the porch (if you could call it that, anyway) of her cabin (...again...) on the western shores of Dunnstads. The pile of driftwood and fallen trees woven into four walls and a roof by thick, sturdy vines was more than enough space for her to stash her belongings that she didn't need when she was on business in Astorea. It was an adequate enough getaway place, one where she could relax and recharge after a long week of working on the ziggurat in Lucia's domain.

A flock of gulls squawked overhead, demanding that she give them some scraps of meat or a few old french fries so they wouldn't have to hunt for their own meal. The witch didn't even care enough to throw them a middle finger.

    Breath in.

    Hold.

    Find your center.

You did this to yourself, promising that Haru guy you'd train him in Nature Magic and help show him the potential of the art. "Best Mastery Ever", you said.

...well, maybe not exactly like that.

Even though you know it's true.

    ...Exhale.

The dark druid's eyes fluttered open. It was almost time to prepare for his arrival.

Madison didn't have much of a lesson plan in mind. She'd teach him exactly how she learned everything: think big, screw up, think a little smaller, and go from there. Maddy vaguely remembered Haru saying that he wasn't terribly knowledgeable in purer forms of Nature Magic, and that whenever he tried he always started steering himself down the darker paths of the art.

Fine by her; while she was talented enough to be able to do anything one may require from a nature magus, she specialized in the more violent, primal sub-schools. As a student of the cycle of life and death, Madison knew a fair deal on how Nature Magic could rot away organic matter and recycle it back into the world for the next generation of life to consume and grow from.

But she suspected that his experiments leaned a bit further into darkness.

Well, it was just something she'd have to try and coax out of him when he showed up.
