  1. Colors, circles, flashing lights, and a feeling of nausea.

This was what full diving into a virtual reality game felt like. At least for Chisato. To put your own consciousness into some kind of trance like state. Where you have no idea what your actual real body is doing other than what you last remembered. To find yourself in a completely different form, and to be able to actually live life in that form for a indefinite period of time until your actual body began to tire to the point of sickness. It was rather disturbing actually. Chisato had a life already. She was a special agent and she had her tasks made clear. It was a dull life but it paid well and she was happy with the assignments she was generally given. It was her strong point and this job always pushed her to improve her skills. Of course there were other reasons she took the career path as well. To make sure no other family ever had to experience a disaster because of some kind of video game gone wrong. Ever again...

So when given the option to become something or someone else. Chisato had no desire to. Instead she simply copied her exact appearance and mirrored her real world skill set, the ones she spent her whole life cultivating, and went with it. Maybe she gave herself a slightly younger look, admittingly fearing the dreaded 30's that were fast approaching. Still, it was basically the same Chisato, just now she was all 0's and 1's. How exciting. Well... it was a amazing technology, she had to admit that. If only it could be properly used and not corrupted. It was just much too dangerous. It was already proven to be something that had to be regulated, heavily.

After finally spawning in Brisshal. Chisato checked her arms and fixed her jacket and gloves on each hand. Flexing her fingers as she stared at them and realized how real it all was. The environment too was a perfect replica of reality, or a different reality anyway. This was not her first full dive experience. She had many, both as part of her training and on actual assignments. However this game, Terrasphere was a lot more sophisticated. She came to that conclusion very quickly just from the first few seconds. Who was behind this? Who would spread a game like this when such things were so obviously dangerous and taboo in modern times?

She punched her fist forward and then another and another. Alright, she was getting into the movements pretty well to defend herself if need be. t was time to begin....

  2. Rory was wandering through the woods, he was coming back from a goblin killing trip. Rory enjoyed battle, perhaps thats why he ran into this world. To never stop fighting in his dream as a knight, dreams as it were, are reality here. Rory smiled as he saw a bird fly by. Yes, this was his new home, until he died at least in reality. One could say this was his early paradise.

As Rory day dreamed, he saw a new player. Not long ago he was like her, he still kinda was, but at least he semi knew what he was doing. He started to make his way towards her with a wave. Rory almost tripped over a root on his way toward her, "Hello, do you need help?" Rory would simply ask. He was never much for talking with strangers and who knows? Good Karma for good karma as he was often told, and it seemed she knew something of martial arts from the way she punched. It hurt his heart to watch, it was to painful for him to take up martial arts in this world again, just a reminder of his dying self back in reality. He frowned quickly before looking at her bluntly, waiting for a response.

  3. It would not be long before another person, whether real or imaginary, would show up. This was a spawn point after all. It made sense that it would be fairly well frequented. All the people who are playing this game. They are all at risk if this was something more. That was up to Chisato, no... she was Beretta for all intents and purposes here. That was what Beretta's mission was. To investigate. So what better way than to play the game? At least that was the agreed upon consensus that the agency had. It was not entirely in her hands. The man was well built, a warrior or hunter in this game. He was not very well equipped. That showed he was very likely a player. A NPC would be equipped to hunt or fight, even if poorly, for the task to better simulate reality. Unless it was a mere villager. He was too well groomed for that in this setting however. Beretta would use this conclusion to treat him as a player.

"Help? No, I think I have a general grasp of things. It's a fairly stable game. Not a glitch or staggered frame rate to be seen."

She folded her arms as she usually does when talking or thinking. Her eyes scanned the area before again resting on the man. She would have to introduce herself and not give away too much of her mission here. If people heard the game had a actual player who was investigating it, it could cause undue panic. Which would only expedite things towards a possible bad end, not to mention her cover being blown would decrease her chances of getting honest reactions from others.

"My user name is Beretta. May I ask your name? I take it we are both fairly new to this game looking at your equipment... I would say this area is fairly safe for someone to start in? "

  4. That hurt, it took him along time to get this wooden sword, and he almost had enough gold to buy full recipes to make him self armor as well. She seemed like a tech person however with fancy words like 'glitch' and 'frame rate', speaking of which, he should probably ask what those are "What is a glitch and frame rate?" his head tilted slightly as he asked. While he waited he looked around, it seems that the area was clear for now. Though he's been through his area before and its got a high pop for wolves and some gobs. He looked at her again, grunted, and motioned his head to move while they talked "Not a good area to stand around in, follow me." he would dully say before he began to walk.

As they began to walk, he would lead them to a road with a town over the horizon. During the walk Rory would speak again "I'm Rory, nice to meet you Beretta." and hold his hand out to her. He didn't want to seem rude or threatening besides the fact he could actually take a new person...man, dosn't that hurt the honor? To see how pitifully weak you really are? No mater, he'll get stronger soon. Hopefully this girl won't ask to many questions.

Around the cobblestone road was forest with some small hills, making the land look like a paralyzed wave. The birds sung in the air as the light shined down, it was truly a beautiful place, how ever dangerous it really was to those of poor gear.

  5. Continuing her analysis of the game by opening her pane and clicking on different buttons, reading descriptions and the like to herself. Beretta compared different results with other vrmmorpg. She would hear the man, Rory ask a somewhat dumb question. This game attracted more than simply gamers it seemed. Already it was proving quite successful. The question of course is whether this being successful was really in the people and the governrmant's best interest?

"A glitch is temporary fault in a computer program. A more severe example would be called a bug. They are most often seen in poorly designed systems or mistakes left undiscovered in a code. As for frame rate. It effects animation. Every movement you do here based on your frame rate. There are other things, such as hit detection as well."

Beretta trailed off without continuing. She started to walk some just as he too would. Beretta was pretty certain that he could be trusted, at least as a player. Being attacked by a player killer this early would have been unfortunate but not something she completely disregarded as possibility. The journey was uneventful so far. Beretta thought about what the first course of action should be. A small skirmish would be a good way to judge how her avatar functioned vs her real body. Even though she tried to give it her actual skills the game may make her weaker in this virtual field than she actually was. Somewhat ironic when you consider why many played this kind of game in the first place. A village or city would be good to find as well. More people meant more information.

"Rory. This game is pretty popular isn't it? I guess you are not much of a gamer outside of VR? I am only so much so myself."

Beretta began small talk as she normally would do to gather information. She did not expect much from her first encounter but ti was almost a habit at this point.

  6. Rory nodded as she explained things...and Rory had no clue what that meant, he just nodded so he could at least pretend to know what these computer things were. Maybe he should of took a class or two about them in college when his body was still functional? Ah no matter, it doesn't sound important at least. Rory was glad she was quite for a little bit, but it seems that talking was unavoidable. "This is my first and last game that I'll play." Rory said bluntly as he adjusted his shoulder to let the shield sit better before continuing "You are correct, I'm not a gamer, I do martial arts." Rory finished as he continued his walk.

During the walk, a group of birds flew past them and suddenly, the forest was silent. Not a sound. Rory knit his brows, wolves can do that, but so can anything else. Rory looked around calmly, he would rather not panic the new person. Panic results in death and mistakes, Rory slowed his pace down to listen as he turned his head this way and that. The sound of bushes rapidly being passed would go through the air, but no growling. Rory would rest his hand on his sword and lossen his shield strap before saying "Prepare yourself, we might have company."
