Little Runaways
All day, the children played and the town was merry. The sounds of laughter and fun plagued the ears of those all around; in the form of squeels and giggles. As the chilren were at play, running about, blessed with such a wonderous day. The parents sat comfortably cuddling as they watched their kids, drank their lemonade and conversed. It was quite the social gathering; one might mistaken such a feat as some sort of holiday. Few and far inbetween were inside their homes; from the cooks to the crafters. It seemed everyone was out an about, as if such a day could not be wasted.
As the scent of lilacs filled the air and the sun's warmth rained down upon all around it. It all seemed all to perfect; yet as the day dwindled down and the sun's kisses began to fade it grew quiet and folks seemed to be retreating back to their humble lives, what seemed like the prefect day for most; soon becam a nightmare for one family. This family in particular was that of the twins; Inna and Inza who seemed to somehow just disappear out of sight.
The plans were for the children to have a giant sleep over; once returning back to their home with their friends. But as they began arriving and their children remained missing something finally clicked and as such a panic began to occur. Contacting the other parents seeking to find the miscommunication and appearance of their kids seemed futile. With no real indication, their parents sought out the aid of the local authorities who said they couldn't do much til they were officially missing longer than a few hours.
A nightmare for any parent who has ever lost their kid; the thoght that those who are in charge to uphold the law, serve and protect you refused to aid let alone even lift a finger in search. But where they turned their backs, other hands reached out. A small child recollecting possible location would inform them of their children running off into the woods. The local families around would aid and assist in forming search parties, hoping to help the couple find their babies.
All through the night they'd search the nearby forest, with hopes of waking from such a nightmare to find their kin alive and well. But to no avail, did they wake. Hours passed as the search party died down, the constant howling and sudden shifting within the woods left many retiring early before the monsters and beasts made themselves known. But before they could dare return empty handed, the parents had come across an adventurer deep within the woods.
I'm sorry, but this was all we found. Was what he'd say as he handed over the teddy bear to the mother, and pulling the father aside to lead him to a path not far off. Torn and tattered cloth from a dress was apparent. The look of fear spread across his face as his jaw dropped and a few drops of blood seemed to run along the path. A look of sympathy passed as the male apologized and reassured him that they still could be fine.
Agreeing as his daughter was smart and would protect her son, he'd head back home with his wife to try and rest; the citizens returning to their home as the sun rose and the very next day began. Yet word spread quick and rumors arose, the partents offing their own children as a ploy to be free, others claiming that they were kidnapped by beast. But more often than not the tale of a wolf eating them. A sad but possible ending to our story.
Yet should any brave heroes arrive in Brisshal they'd surely overhear about such events and be prompted by an emergency quest. But as time has passed and more questions araised and a few helping hands seemed eager to help. None so more than the male Aaron Steele, a wana be hero with something to prove and a soft spot for kids; that and MILFs.
So it came to no surprise the otherwise, motivate and depraved knight would offer his services. Eyes gazing upon the figure of the mom then bac to her husband his mind raced with thoughts and ideas, unsure of how to approach the situation but still keeping civil, despite his desire to speak on matters otherwise inapproriate.
"I've heard of your misfortune, you have my sympathy. But I am willing to aid in your search. You can trust me Ma'am I will find your kids, just please give me some time. Know it may be more dangerous than you think. This is the second night and the forest can be dangerous. The sun is setting now, I best get a move on. I'll join the party you've mustered and will do my best."
He'd say as he bit his lip some and shook his head patting the father upon his shoulders,
"You are a lucky many, in more way than you know. But from one man to another, your lucky I came here when I did. I'l find your daughters; you have my word. I vow on my name, Aaron Steele, Adventurer extordinaire."
He'd say with a cocky grin as he shook on the contract accepting the quest being instantly logged into a party of four with the others who managed to make it into the same Que. A faint smile passed seeing their names as he chuckled. Scanning through it he'd activate the marker and place it by the forests edge, setting a meeting spot for the crew.
Making his way downtown, walking fast, faces pass And he's honor-bound; off to the forest to find the girls.
Once he arrived just outside the foreet the brave hero would lean against a tree waiting to meet with the others. His eyes scanning over the area; a feeling of not being alone sinking into the core of his being. A chill running up his spine as he felt eyes creeping in on him as well a cool breeze kiss upon his neck. He was normally not afraid of the dark, but something about this entire mission felt off. Wrong and otherwise preplanned to be riddled with danger and dark themes. All puns intended, this male felt like things would only get worse from this point forward.
With all this runing through his mind, it was clear he was drowning in thought. None the less once the brave souls arrived he'd shift his attention their way and smile, extending his hand to greet and introduce himself to each one.
"The name's Aaron Steele, I'll be your sword and shield for this quest, pleasure to meet you all. So if yall don't mind telling me, what else you know about this quest aside from lost kids, a dangerous woods and neglegant parents. I find this a bit odd, but hey I can't be too critical it's a game right?"
He'd ask curiously as a sudden howl could be heard, not far off in the distance, almost as if to let them know the race was on. A hunt, between them and the beast; could they save the kids? Were they even savable; or did they reside deep within the beasts themselves, waiting to be freed as they ventured into the night gutting the beast along the way. Little was known, except the longer this took, the more likely death was for not only the kids but possibly themselves.
[OOC: Please post up your introduction to the quest and the party. From there will the final and last member to post take the lead into the woods and carry on the story. I've set it but would like to see us all paint this beatiful masterpiece; I'd love combat to be done in an attempt form with rolls being hits and misses. Odds and evens; thoughts and opinons?]
