  1. imgHaving not heard him when he asked her to make sure she reminded him, she continued to pet Choji, waiting for him to speak to her, still taking note of the blushing face, yet amidst the blush, she could see a sad gaze in his eyes, right before he looked away, rather taking a stare at the wall, "Trying to have a staring contest are we?" Emilia laughed off her own humor before listening to his words, "Sure, what room are you wanting to move to?" Cocking her head to the side she studied Ray further, taking note of his saddened eyes, her hand continued to pet Choji before she held him out, "You seem.. sad... Petting Choji helps me when I am sad, and when I remember my parent's death... Here.." Choji let out a soft meow, putting a paw up to bat at Ray, before Emilia looked him straight in the face, [color-#bb8dce]"What are you thinking of? Why are you sad?"[/color]

  2. He took a soft look between the cat and the woman holding it, reaching a hand out before the cat swatted at it. For a moment, Ray just blinked staring at it blankly, before understand that the cat didn't mean it in a harmful way. So, Ray gave a light bat back at it, and pretty soon, a small swinging back and forth contest broke out, the cat and the man lightly tapping at and swinging at each other in a playful sort of way. Eventually being ended as he took the cat from Emilia's hands, now holding and petting the cat on his own. She was right, it did make him feel slightly better.

"Whatever you want, Miss Emilia." He said passively, now more focused on the cat than her, actually quite enjoying Choji's company. He didn't answer any of her questions directly, now just lost in though, staring blankly at the wall and her, idly petting the cat with one hand, the other holding it against him. "Stuff..." was his only answer to her question before setting down the cat and then giving another look into her violet eyes. "Perhaps back to that small room of yours?"

Watching with humor as Ray and Choji kept batting at each other, Emilia felt a spark of happiness ignite in the room as Ray held Choji. She could see that he seemed a bit happier as he pet Choji. Smiling a little sadly, she thought of what could make him sad, For me its my parents.. Did he loose someone too? Should I ask him? Shrugging off her own thoughts, "What stuff?" Emilia was now quite upset that there was indeed something that he was sad about. She nodded her head and headed back into her room.

Sitting on her bed, she pat the spot next to her, waiting for him to sit before she spoke up again, "Did you loose someone? That's what makes me so sad all the time..." Upon finishing explaining her own sadness she watched as Choji leaped up curled up next to her. With her left hand she started to pet Choji.

  4. "No one-" He stopped himself, realizing that she didn't bring up a person, his eyes now skittering away from her again and looking to find anything else to focus one. "Nothing-" He corrected the No one to Nothing "Nothing important." And with that he feigned amusement, giving a half assed smile back to her in the most sheepish way possible to avoid that conversation. It wasn't something he wanted to think or talk about, hating the memory of it, and not wanting to be this as a kind of first impression on this woman. For some reason he had held the hope that they'd meet again after today.

He followed her out of the larger gadgets and assorted items room to the smaller bedroom, glancing around once more along the tidy and well kept floors and various ledges and shelves. At her signal, he sat next to her, probably a bit too close to her for his liking, but he wasn't going to awkwardly shuffle away now. "It's nothing really," He insisted, wanting to dodge the conversation. Instead now he asked some of the other questions he had on his mind. "Hey, why did you invite me out here? Don't you have other stuff to do?" He was perplexed by her willingness to spend what was probably very little free time with a man she had just met. Especially one who was wearing a t-shirt that fit funny on him.

  5. imgEmilia's expression became disappointed, "I know we just met.. But you can trust me, you can tell me anything." She had caught onto the fact that he had said no one rather than nothing. With his next question, Emilia stood to her feet, "Actually, I do not.. I usually just play around with Choji or do some stuff online.. Or go into my workshop.. Or do meetings, which I have none of right now." Emilia thought back to his own sadness, and turning to Ray, she started to express everything that was on her mind. "I did pick up the fact that you said no one and not nothing... For the longest time I had everything I ever wanted. I had a few friends here and there.. I had my parents. I had this house and a rich life growing up. I was spoiled and got everything. My whole world came crashing down the year I graduated highschool. We were celebrating my graduation.. When it happened, it was all way too fast.. I was.. Shocked.. It was a simple car driving down the wrong side of the road.. If my dad had been too busy to go, I would have been in the passenger seat.. He had been called off a business trip last minute.. But.. I wish I had been.. Then maybe he would still be alive..." Emilia paused for a moment watching as Choji climbed into Ray's lap. "The car... It impacted our car.. My dad tried to swerve out of the lane.. But.. he could not..." It was at that moment that Emilia's tears streaked across her face breaking, her voice thick with emotion. "T-the car caved in... All I remember is metal mere centimeters away from my face.. A smoking car a while off, and my parent's dead and mangled bodies.. they were smashed by... our own car after being hit......" Emilia paused again to regain composure, this would be her first time actually telling the story of her parents death, to a person whom she had only met that very day, yet she felt like she had known him forever. "After that night I went into a spiral of depression. I lost contact with every friend I ever had and stopped talking.. That went on for a few months before my aunt forced me to get over it. She told me... "Life is not fair, you either grow up and forget the bad things, or you become a depressed little shithead that no one likes.." In order to make her, my only family remaining proud, I had to suck it up and get over it... She forced me to.. I had to take over the company after my parents, despite the pain it brings me.. All that this company ever reminded me of was my parents and how they died. Yet, here I am today, managing the company.. Despite not wanting to.. All it does is remind me of them.." Having finished her small tale of sadness, she curled her arms around her body, feeling quite exposed. Dropping her gaze to the ground, she let her tears continue to fall before collecting herself, "But as I was saying.. What is the root of your sadness? I can see it in your eyes, it is the same look I have..."

  6. "I-I, its not important, I swear..." And now there he went, lying already to her, and even more so, directly to her. A girl he had just met, who had been nothing but sweet and kind to him, invited the man into her home and now was willing to just sit on her very own bed together, just to talk and get to know each other better, and yet here he was completely avoiding her and making the situation more uncomfortable than it needed to be. So he conceded, leaning back casually on his arms to prop himself up into slightly leaning, slightly sitting position on the bed. He stared at the roof of the room as she went on to tell about her own story and her parents. He winced, now completely regretting having asked all the questions he did and sending their otherwise peaceful conversation down this path.

He felt bad for her, and once again, a slightly younger Rayvil, with less of his own second guessing or questioning plaguing his mind, would have hugged her and tried to comfort her, but he did none of that, now removing the arms from behind him, and allowing his back to fall to the bed, his glance now turning from the roof to the head of silver hair next to him. Then sell it? He thought to himself, wondering if that was a solution she had thought of, one he'd have to offer another time. However, before he could offer that suggestion, she pressed on to what his problem was

He still refused to outright answer, only trying to give as much as minimally possible. "Uh, well, I did lose someone, b-but, uh? I suppose she's been gone longer now than I was with her, so I should probably just move on, right?" He wasn't sure now, and the question sounded like it was more for himself than for her to answer.

  7. img With a nod her head she silently agreed that he should move on, focusing instead on herself. Why did I even tell him, he shows no interest in my backstory... The writer herself is confused as to why she wrote the fact of Emilia's own backstory. Why? That is a question I should answer to myself before I answer to you, the reader. Anyways...... Emilia let out a sigh, muttering quietly to herself, "And here I thought we were getting to know each other more... What a joke that was.." Shrugging off her own saddened thoughts that had been a result of his own refusing to share, Emilia paced back and forth around her room, she was growing ever so salty as she kept pacing, opting to pace rather than face the man that had been the cause. Gripping the edge of her dress ever so lightly, she focused on the floor, ignoring Ray entirely as she paced.. back and forth... Rather than the lively company that had been concurring up to this point, the company in the room seemed rather dull and tiring. Emilia could not help but wonder to herself what was wrong with Ray and who it was that he had lost, That is all he gives me.. After my whole spew? She could feel her saltiness reach a max as she started to fume with thoughts and expressions that would flash across her face for only mere milliseconds before switching to a new emotional expression. This all came to a halt as her now sharp eyes landed on Choji, laying in Ray's lap. She briskly made her way over before scooping up Choji, beginning to give him kisses and pets. Hoping that it would aid in calming her down so that they could resume to have a gentle and nice conversation she continued her pacing.

  8. He thought that his answer was satisfactory, not even realizing himself at this point that he had straight ignored the question and danced around it, he had thought he answered. She had asked if he lost someone, and he said yea he did. And now she paced the room, lost in thought and the man watched for only a moment before laying back down against the bed with the cat beginning to gently purr as he it fell into a lull on his lap. That was ended as quickly as it had started, when he felt the cat being aggressively lifted from his lap and then even more aggressive petting of it, and while the cat seemed to be enjoying itself, it certainly wasn't the ever so gentle stroking she had given when she bent to first interact with the cat.

This caused him to sit up and inspect her for a moment, now realizing that she was in fact irked, not just in thought. He reached a hand out, getting a handful of her dress and a little bit of a tug. "Hey uh, chill a bit, whats wrong?" He didn't actually understand what it was that had bothered her. He answered the question didn't he? Or maybe it wasn't about him? Probably not, nothing ever was. Still, he held a firm grip of the bit of her dress that he had hold of, his forest green eyes now scanning for her own pupils, trying to make eye contact at all. After a bit, it kind of made sense to him, though his mind was a bit jittery and shaky. She had just spilled her guts out, and he hadn't even given the slightest bit of detail.

Ooohhhh. He thought to himself, now letting go of the dress and laying back down against the bed. "Without going into too much detail, there was this girl, that I loved... out here in Boston. We uh, planned to get -itched" The H in that word was silent as he voice shook and his lip quivered. "And funny enough" a sniffle after that, "Cars are dangerous yknow? But-But you probably know that better than anyone..." He stopped there, as he blinked and a stream of tears now rolled down his face an onto her bed, now covering his eyes with his hands to avoid her seeing, embarrassment rising throughout his body.

  9. imgThe light pink dress that Emilia had been wearing had been grabbed, halting her ever fervent pacing back and forth. Instinctively knowing that Ray was the one who had latched on, Emilia froze. Why the hell is he grabbing my dress. Turning her own expression over to Ray, her eyes spoke volumes on how she felt. Hearing him tell her to chill only made everything worse in her own opinion, Does he not understand?! Her eyes were lightly narrowed, an annoying and salted expression covered her face, revealing she was in fact bothered. Focusing back on Choji she continued to pet him, hearing him purr and rub against her. This lifted her mood lightly, letting her relax and her pets grew less rough, "Sorry for always petting you rough when I am not in a good mood." She muttered this to Choji, hugging him close to her. In return he let out a light meow, and put his paw on her face. The hold that Ray had on her dress was removed as he laid back down. Who does he think he is? If he grabbed my dress he does not just let go!

The thoughts of the annoyed female were interrupted as he began to talk. His fiance.. died.... Emilia stayed silent now, her irritated emotions dissipating, instead feeling sorrowful for him. She could see his tears very clearly, setting Choji to the ground, she silently made her way towards Ray. She grabbed onto his hands, and forced him to sit up. Once he was seated, she let go of his hands and wrapped them around him, in a comforting hug. Allowing him to cry on her, as she comforted him. (Kinda like this) I wonder how long she has been gone for... It took not long before Emilia voiced her own thoughts, with severely more comforting words than her thoughts had expressed.

  10. Ray just laid with his hands covering his face, wondering why it is the world was cruel to him in that way. Was it his fault? Not her death perse, but the fact that these kinds of things happened to him often? Maybe his parents were right, maybe he was a loser, who had amounted to nothing. So far that was true, right? He worked part time at a gas station down the road from his house, and had very little real life friends anymore; and the one he had made in the last year or so, he had clearly aggravated, even after all the kindness she had shown him. The woman had said something, though to what and whatever the content was, he didn't know. Instead, lost in his own thoughts of a million things and questioning his own self-worth.

He jerked at the sudden touch, his eyes now flashing open and scanning wildly, before being pulled upright. He resisted for a moment, but then decided that there was no point, resigning to the hug and wiping his face with his hands. For a moment, he just silently cried, this not being the first time he's thought of it, but definitely being the first time having done so in the company of another. "S-sorry," He voiced, knowing that this was egregiously rude for him to do in front of her, especially since she had lost so much more and didn't have half the reaction he was right now.

"Uh?" He thought about it between sniffles, unsure to be quite honest. It had been some time ago. They were love birds in Highschool, and that was over for a little over two years now. He had proposed somewhere around his late-fiance's birthday, back when they were nineteen or so. So a year and some change. "I t-think somewhere around twelve to eighteen months? I lost count..." And now the guilt was back, hating himself for forgetting something like that.

  11. imgEmilia allowed Ray to cry on her continuously, Choji rubbing against his ankle that was now close to the floor. Upon Ray admiting he had lost count, Emilia smacked him across the head lightly, "I only just met you, and yes I consider you already a close friend of mine. You need to realize that whoever she was would not want you to be like this. She would want you to move on, and become successful in your life. You have no reason to sit and cry about it, or think less of yourself for forgetting the amount of time. Yes, I know that you probably feel bad about not knowing the exact time, but that means that you are slowly healing. It is a good thing. You may not ever forget about her, as you were engaged to her.. Hell you might never want to love anyone ever again for fear of losing them, but you need to realize that she would want you to move on. Not forget about her completely, but just live your life. Become happy again, find something you love and become successful based on that. And success is not just how much money you have in your bank account. Success is being happy at what you do and living a life you can be proud of. I do not know if you take pride in your life, but if you did, you would know that you need to think of what she would have wanted. Hell, I still feel guilty. If I had never asked either of my parents to go to my graduation they would not have died. You have the same feelings as I do. Guilt, sadness, loss. You feel like it you hate yourself for not being able to stop what happened. I get it." At this point, Emilia had pulled Ray's hands away from his face, and lifted his face so he could see the glowing passion in her own eyes, "No matter how long it takes, we met, which is a plus. I can understand you and how you feel, so I want you to know that yes, it sucks. In fact, I think of how bad it sucks on a daily basis. But we both still need to live our lives in a way that both of our loved ones would be proud of." At this point, Emilia was blazing with emotion, passion, sadness, happiness all rolled into one emotion, showing through her eyes and the very words that escaped through her parted lips. "Now we have each other. We met, and we can rely on each other. You might not believe this, but you are the only person I have met in my real life that I can trust, yeah I have friends online, but it is not the same. You are the only person that I have that I can relate to. You have no idea what that means to me." Emilia rested her hands on his shoulders now, "Let us help each other in becoming people they can be proud of."

  12. Between the cat, the crying, and the woman hugging him, Ray was a bit over saturated with emotion not entirely sure what to say. To his luck, he didn't need to say much, as she spoke, his eyes now locking with hers and watching as they flared full emotion with each word she spoke. Emilia had given him quite the speech, and in fairness to Rayvil, these were all things he had considered. However, the effect was always stronger when it came from someone else, especially her of all people had dealt with something similar. She didn't seem to take her own advice though; as he had noted earlier with her reaction to a simple question, which is what had lead to this fiasco right here. She was right, he did blame himself, but she was also right in that the fiance of his would have liked him to move on.

He embraced the hug, something that Ray himself had thought he'd have never done, but it actually made him happy to know and have someone who understood and was willing to go to that length in order to help him better understand. He held the hug tightly for a moment, before pulling away where she would have her hands on his shoulders, it was calming in a way. "Then-Then we can stay in touch?" He asked, his eyes hopeful to have a friend like Emilia. Beyond the money and success, now he wanted to know her for the person she was, something that surprised even himself.

He nodded his head in agreement, wiping his face with his hands again, a difficult task with her arms in the way, and then gave another hug before pulling away from her. "Thank you..." His voice wisped out as he scanned the room, always looking to avoid certain situations and not really sure of what else to say.

  13. imgThe embrace that Ray gave back to Ilya made her happy to say the least, it showed that he accepted her. As she had spoken, she knew that he was listening as he stared deep into her eyes. "I know that I need to take heed to my own advice, and I am here to prove to you that it is hard to get past something as rough as this..." After hearing Ray's question tagged along with the fact that hope filled his eyes, she nodded, "Of course we can." Emilia offered a smile to Ray. My first.. real friend... Her life was taking an impactful turn, and it all started just by meeting Ray in the small cafe. I wonder if he will change me for the better...

Watching him nod, she tried to shift to let him wipe his face easier. Watching with a little bit of a surprise as he hugged her, she hugged him back. As he pulled away and said thank you, she watched him no longer make eye contact, taking it as though he were uncomfortable she spoke again to him. "No need to be uncomfortable. Even if you have no clue as to what to say, sometimes silence is golden. But I should be thanking you as well.. You may not know this, but you are the first real close friend I have had since my parent's death.. You are blessing me in so many ways.." With a sad smile, she offered a hand out, "Let us make a pact. That we will never abandon each other, that no matter what happens, we will always rely on each other."
(OOC note: As I write all of this, I keep thinking back to Sadie.. You remember her, don't you? cries to herself... Cars are really dangerous..)

  14. (OOC: Yea...)
He was glad that she had agreed to his request to stay in touch, tugging at the end of his tshirt to keep it below his waist so that it actually half way looked like it fit. "It is rough, but I guess Friends can help?" He tried to offer that as a sort of advice and sort of helping of the situation, his eyes still dancing around the room. "Just let me know if you uh, need anything, okay?" He tried to be as supportive as he could as a friend now, not entirely sure how to do this friend thing anymore, it having been so long.

He stopped there, his green pupils flicking back to her as she tried to reassure him. He nodded, keeping to her silence is golden saying, and then flinching a little as she quickly stuck a hand out. He glanced at her questioningly, and then back to the hand, a bit hesitant to agree to such a thing. The thing was, Ray wasn't sure if he was ready to be making promises like that, or for much of anything.

What eventually got him over this feeling? The thoughts of how he was in Terrasphere, bold and more confident. And way more risk taking. Channel your inner Zel. He told himself, not giving a second thought to it as he shook her hand, silently agreeing to the pact.

  15. imgA vigorous nod of the silver haired beauty seemed to confirm that she would in fact tell him if she needed anything. Without much doubt, Emilia had promised to remain his friend, and be there for him if he needed anything. To rely on her new friend. With a grin that was far from a lie, (meaning it was a real smile) Emilia rejoiced internally that he had accepted something as silly as the pact that she had asked him to make. Thinking on the two, she let go of his hand, now reaching for her nightstand, scooping up her phone. Tapping away, it was mere seconds before she offered it to Ray, "Your number, so we can stay in touch.."

It had made Emilia's day that she had actually made a friend in the real world, thinking back to Terrasphere, where she was more open and friendly... I guess my own Ilya is seeping out of the hold on Terrasphere and entering my real life body.. Emilia had made ilya slightly different than her on purpose, while the goals of the young girl seemed too much, Emilia had made Ilya more friendly, confident even.
