Open - Martial Arts and Knives

  1. Kohaku was one of those people that poured his heart and soul into a few things. He had been doing martial arts since he was a small child and he had taken up throwing knives. He could also do combat training which he had started at one point in time and traveled to New York City from time to time to do. He could wield just about anything that was sharp and pointy but he always preferred his throwing stars and knives. He was actually now starting to learn how to make his own. It was today that he was going to one class that combined the both of his loves. He walked into his dojo early before anyone other than his Sensei was there. He bowed before his Sensei who smiled at him. "Always here early I see Kohaku. Want to help me teach the morning adult class?" He was starting to do his stretches. "Sure Sensei. Is this the white belt class?" He questioned. He wasn't the one to remember all these things at once. He was not the teacher in the first place. "Its the group class so some of the guys you work with are here too." He gave a nod a smile coming to his face. A lot of the adults that he knew tended to jump around the classes that he took. Since it was a weekend Kohaku was here this early in the morning.

"We got about an hour so why don't you set up you things for later and then you can help me." He gave his sensei a nod and then went about getting himself ready and then setting up a few things outdoors before he came back in to greet the group that was starting to trickle in. There was a few new people here today and so he watched from the side as he kneeled down tying on the belt that signified him as a teacher. A primarily red belt with a black strip through it. He was almost as high a belt as his sensei was but they wore a different belt when they taught so that people knew teacher and assistant teacher form the students. Once he was done with that he went around and helped out a few of the new people. He took a spot on the outskirts with a heads up in hello to those he saw on a routine basis.

"Everyone Kohaku is going to be helping us with this mornings routines. Feel free to ask him for help." And with that the class began. Kohaku helping where he could and being a stand in for someone doing one of their kata's so that they would understand how it applied to an actually scenario. He also watched the front of the dojo for anyone who might want to come in and try it out.

  2. Now this was deeply refreshing! The feeling of rolling on dojo mats was something that Xavier cherished above all else. This was also unusual for the large man to be going through Kata's when he originally studied the of Brazilian Jujitsu, none the less it was always good to start somewhere knew! His experiences ranged further than just the grappling grounds but he wasn't here to show off only to get a good work out in place.

With that he took turns disarming his opponent then being the attacker for his partner. A hearty smile crossed the ebony mans face as he bobbed and weaved his locked were contained back in a pony tail. He was dressed in his standard no gi rolling outfit for his Jujitsu classes, he found the gi to be a little to easy to hold rather than a normal shirt.

Yet this was just personal opinion!! Catching his opponents right hand into his left he twisted the wrist and arm stepping to the outside of the man. His partner had leaned forward to go with the strain of the arm before tapping Xavier's leg with ease, to which the man released and patted the mans back. "You alright?" Xavier asked as his partner gripped his right arm at the bicep and handed him the knife.

"I need to take five..." The lad said before going to kneel down at the edge of the mats. Nursing his arm gently he watched the rest of the demonstrations in silence. There was no pang of guilt or worry from the latter. Beneath the long sleeved rolling gi were tattoo's and scars of his combat medic days. The world was a tough place and he had little to no intention of being around that bush. One had to be able to handle just about anything when it came down to war. Yet despite that true fact of life there was still an open space for someone to step in. Taking a moment for himself X, rolled the blade in between his massive hands as if he were pen spinning. Meditation and deep thoughts slowly flooded into his brain.

Kneeling down he began doing forward shoulder rolls and backward shoulder rolls in his own space. Stopping short of almost rolling into Kohaku's leg Xavier deviated to the side and chuckled. "Apologies! I did not mean to roll into you if I did." It was only respectful to apologize and he was all for the respect factor.
