King Astor, or in the future, ex-King Astor,
Greetings on the plan to making amendments to the government of Astorea, making the land a democracy. This move on your part will ensure that the voice of the people, which before was never heeded by the nobles, will be heard, and will be promptly answered for the betterment of this whole land. Surely, with this move, Astorea will grow into a more powerful country, as the people, propelled by the freedom given to them, will strive for the glory of this wonderful nation, which was founded on the premise of the equality of all races.
However, there was still the issue of the nobles being unable to accept the removal of the privileges once given to them, and is now rebelling within and without the gates of Vintergard. Foremost of them is the former Duke of Western Astorea, Roland Rutledge, a hero of many battles and is highly esteemed in Astorea. Although the step towards making Astorea a democracy is one of the best steps to be done in order to make a country known both for its prosperity and compassion, I will dare say that some of these nobles might have merit in their claims. Of all the nobles aggrieved, the most glaring injustice was done to the former Duke Rutledge, being the person who led the assault against the great monster Titanius together with a good number of capable individuals from Tertoria, which, without his help, might have threatened the whole Astorea besides his own lands. There was no accolades bestowed by the government of Astorea in his honor, and instead, the sudden notice of the change in government was announced in Astorea. Although it can be argued, and rightly so, that the change of government is for the betterment of the whole realm, the former Duke should have not been neglected in his service for the country, and so it might have been right for him to suspect that you, as the King of the realm when this sudden change had been instituted, had did this for ulterior reasons, for example weakening the influence of the nationalist personalities so that foreign powers will have a hold in this country, while you, as alleged, will be sitting on the proceeds of your perfidy in some mansion in a prime location. I will never say that his every accusations are true, but he has a reason to suspect that it is happening. Every person in the realm of Astorea knew of the letter that he had posted within all the territories of Astorea, and will question whether this act of changing the government is enacted in good faith, or whether this act is just a scheme to keep out those who truly loves the nation in order for other nations to control it, especially the country in question, Falderen.
There is a way to dispel all of these doubts regarding this issue between the King of Astorea and the former Duke of Western Astorea, to reaffirm the support of the people to the democracy that is incoming in the land. As of the time of the writing of this letter, (insert current date here), there is a widespread discrimination against the Yladians in the Kingdom of Falderen. This glaring inequality amongst races has forced Yladians to commit deeds of theft, pickpocketing, and robbery in order to make both ends meet, especially amongst the old and infirm who cannot resort to hunting and gathering for food. As those guilty of those deeds are sentenced to public hanging in a court both unsympathetic to their plight and insidiously quick to sentence them to the maximum penalty possible, this discrimination against them is so glaring that if Heaven knew of those deeds, it will weep against the people who allow this discrimination to happen. As the elections are still not yet held to this date, I implore you, as the de facto ruler of Astorea, the nation founded to strongly protect the equality of all races, to issue a strongly-worded communiqué against the Kingdom of Falderen for their inability to stem the discrimination against the Yladians living in their country. That is the only way to assure the citizens of Astorea that the independence of this country will be protected by the nation.
