That's a good point! If you've ever heard of the 'big sister' program (is that a thing in New York too? I know it's common down here to a degree), that's another fairly good example of age difference being less of an issue with friendships. I had a 'big sister' from the program when I was fairly young, and she was muuuuch older. And by that I mean she's like still a good friend, and also older than my dad. Actually, she's the one who got me into jazz, which I mentioned liking at one point. I can't play any though. I'm best at simpler songs... Like neko funjata. Though my pacing sucks, it's really fun for me~

I've tried learning sheet music multiple times in my life. I'm normally good with languages and such, but... It just goes beyond me! It made things really hard when I had vocal lessons and my teacher refused to let me do things by ear... Since I ended up lying and pretending I knew what I was doing and just kept my eyes closed instead of looking at the sheet. But she did let me choose what song I'd sing for the Italian one I had to do in my recital, and the one she chose for in English was a fairly common/easy song to learn since it was from a musical. So that helped, I guess!

And no worrying about paying me for something like that. For starters, I'd feel weird accepting your money. Plus, I actually have second copies for some of mine... Funny story, really, but that's for another time. Preferably in person.

I wasn't great in school myself- I was okay, I was usually an AB student, but health issues sometimes got in the way as I got older so...I may or may not be much better than them in reality. Still, different people have different ways of looking at a problem to figure out how to solve it, right? So different ways of teaching help different people, too- and what you can't do, teach. I can't do schoolwork well myself at this point, but I can teach or help with it! And I learn that way, too!
