Do you want a nifty transparent avatar like everyone else? If so, post here. Ideally, you should give a picture that you like that shows the entire head and don't have a lot of mess (lines, decoration, embellishment, etc) in them for the best result.
If anyone has not a suggestion for a new name for the capital of Astorea, formerly known as "Dormont" post here! I'll pick the coolest sounding one, unless I don't like any of them. Include a brief explanation of why you're suggesting that particular name!
Escaflowne. It has a unique ring to it, a little fantasy, a little intrigue. I think the name rolls off the tongue pretty well too. It might be a little confusing though seeing as its the name of an anime title, but I still think it sounds awesome for a Capital.
I was personally thinking about Dawnrise or Dawn as the name. Since it's like a new beginning for players, a new nation carved out of the old and defunct.
Friskifine. Frisk is "New" in Danish, and the rest is just a little fantasy twist. Something original, yknow?
I've got two ideas (well more than two but I'll refrain from spamming names). Qilin - A mythological creature from Eastern Asia which I believe is primarily known for appearing at the arrival or passing of an illustrious ruler. Since it's also seen as an omen for prosperity and serenity it'd be suitable for the capital of a nation which is about to enter a new and (hopefully) prosperous age. Verus - An adaptation of the Dutch word 'vers' which can translate into both 'new' and 'fresh'.
I have one how about: Perseverantia it Latin for perseverance, I went with Latin because most of the language of the new world is based on Latin. It seemed fitting as Astorea is the first piece of land in this new world that we have claimed. And to keep this little piece of land it has been hard fought, there was Arachna who they had to win the castle from. Then came Azog and just recently a foreign power tried to march on the capital and castle. It and we survived all of that we have persevered through a lot of hell, the capitals name should be a reminder of that and a hope that it shall never fall.
I'm partial to short names, for some weird reason. I like Verus, @Wolfy's suggestion. It sounds fantasy enough, but it isn't such a tongue-twister that people might avoid saying it. I come from a website where the locations were more or less a jumble of letters, and none of us could discuss them in podcasts or voice chats for fear of mispronunciation. I think that's where I get my views from!
If we're pushing for things that involve dawn, I figured another option was to use words for 'new day' in other languages. Latin seems more logical for the setting in some sense, but I also looked at a few other languages for fun. Latin: Novus Diei (or Diei Novus) based on the 3 day options, i just felt this looked more fun. Though Putesco and Latin for dawn (Diluculo) are pretty neat by themselves... Japanese: Hirata is one way to mix 'hi' (day) and 'arata' (new), but there are lots of options here. Dawn has some really nice sounding words too, like Reimei. Italian: Aurora is a nice one for just using dawn. Also, for new day, Novi Giorni is nifty sounding to me (I shortenened Novizio for new, and Giorni is plural, but whatever) Other Ideas: Using the word rebirth in some manner. I thought of using Hebrew too, but to be honest, my ability to read it is kinda bad at this point. (That, and figuring out word order. Yom Chadash feels logical, but... That means day new.) Old languages feel right for the setting, but... Meh. If desired, I'll go through the languages I can again for words for Rebirth. I dunno why, I just figured knowing options based on synonyms is handy, and using the actual words in English is probably awkward and boring.
I like @Asch 's suggestion of something to do with Dawn, but I was thinking maybe "Dawnstar" to go with that, and to have a little bit of a reference to outside games for a bit of a reminder that it's the player capital.
Newdor. It rolls off the tongue, is new, utilizes a part of dormont, and is what would probably happen in real life.
