Manta slammed the butt of her spear down onto the ground, unsure of exactly what had changed. She had just invested her first mastery points into her spear and berserk masteries. She didn't feel any different. Her spear certainly felt more balanced, but she could attribute that to the simple fact that she was no longer carrying around her starting weapon anymore. Maybe she would notice the difference once she got into combat. She sighed and moved towards the river that bisected the woods. That was where she had first met Val, the player who had explained to her the basics of the game and how combat worked. She didn't really know what she was planning to do. Half of her wished that she would run into another player, while the other half was fearful of being killed, and not just by players. The forest had plenty of its own predators, and while she had handled herself fine when she had been here with Val, she had had help from a much stronger player. She walked up to the river and leaned up against a tree on the bank. Manta swiped open her menu and swiped around, looking at the various options. She needed to make more friends and even enemies. Games like these were no fun by yourself. @Noah Krane
Noah was walking through the forest in an attempt to not only clear his mind but do some hunting. He was in need of some new leather hides for his leather shop. His last batch was all rather poor quality, he needed to upgrade that so he could attract more wealthy players. Since the castle had been taken over a few days ago most of the players that were not part of Yulan Dragons had cleared out from the forest off to do their own things. Noah had stuck around the forest not just for the hunt but the rebuilding of the castle, plus who knew if the Kingdom would try take back their property from Yulan, it was not a cheap building to just handover. The short war however had caused most of the wildlife to flee in terror which was going to make his hunting dull and pointless probably. As he walked beneath the canopy of the forest, small beams of sunlight were able to pass through giving the forest a warm and inviting feeling. Noah did not fear much in this region, there was not too many strong monsters, those were saved for deeper in the brush than he currently was. He started unintentionally whistling the tune of the load screen of the game with his hands in his pockets, not a care in the world. Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of another person standing in the woods. His gaze shifted to her direction and carefully examined her over a bit. She seemed to be deep in thought as she shifted through the screens of the game. Noah seeing no harm in making a new friend headed over in her direction. He noticed that she had a spear in her hand, making him a bit cautious in getting too close to the woman. Staying several meters away, Noah made his introduction. “Um.. hey there...nice spear you’ve got there…” @Manta.
Manta turned around and gave the man a friendly smile in greeting. She almost let out a laugh at his very obvious caution. Apparently the sight of a woman with an enormous two handed spear made people pause for a moment. Val hadn't reacted like that, but on the other hand she had actually fallen down a hill, lost her grip on her spear and tumbled into him. She leaned her new spear up against the tree and approached him, holding out a hand. "Thank you. I only just got it to replace my starting weapon. I'm Manta." She introduced herself. She didn't see any harm in making friends with him, or at the very least introducing herself. That was what she had been hoping for wandering around this forest anyway. She walked back and grabbed her spear again, reluctant to leave it out of her grip, having only just gotten it. She turned back to him. "So what are you doing out here?" She asked him. After what had happened at the castle she had yet to figure out exactly what she wanted to do in this game. Maybe this meeting would help her out. She knew that she wanted to be a strong warrior in this game, but she didn't have any goals or attachments yet. She had only helped out the support of the castle because she had happened to be there. And now she was back in the forest once more for no particular reason, doing no particular thing.
