Even though she was actually enjoying herself, Luna was also thankful for the very brief respite that the drink fetching brought her. Just enough time to catch her breath and let her blush die down was all that she really needed and she managed to get just enough, even if she were only just feeling better by the time that Angel got back. It wasn't anything wrong with Angel or even what she was saying, Luna was just nervous by nature and totally not used to social activity with somebody her age, especially somebody that was very potentially interested in her romantically. And almost immediately as the girl got back with her drink, the cute word was being thrown around again, though now that she was expecting to hear it a lot Luna was much better prepared for it. She still blushed slightly at her choice of game being scrutinized, albeit in a friendly way. "I-I-I know the love stories a-a-aren't the most realistic b-but I just really enjoy being able t-t-to master conversation and g-g-get the characters together..." She blushed, poking her index fingers together. "T-t-truth is I'm a sucker for a-any sort of l-love story. A-a-anything with r-romance in it is my thing..." She admitted, taking a sip from her cola with a satisfied sigh. There was something just heart warming about watching two characters fall in love. Heck, she even played the games where multiple characters were in a relationship with each other. She always wondered how that worked out in the end, the games never went that far.
"Right?" Ava was agreeing even though she didn't play the games. She completely understood though. "That's my favorite part of RPG's toooo. They're just less focused and the romance is easier, but then that would probably make you better at romance than me unless I'm some sort of natural, which I suppose I haven't found out yet." She shrugged and took a big sip of her own drink as well. "Ech!" she puckered. "That batch was more sour than I was expecting." she rubbed her face with both hands and burst out laughing. "I um, anyway," she coughed once more. "Yeah, totally. I'm a sucker for love. That's why my bag has hearts on it~" she moved her messenger bag and sat it on the desk. Two hearts were amateurishly sewn into the stitching on the cover. "I'm a pretty girly girl, other than liking to hit things in video games. That's the one not girly thing I like. Other than that I'm all hugs and cuteness all the time~"
Phew, it was really quite the calming experience to hear that Angel actually agreed with how she saw dating sims and other games like it, considering most people kinda just saw playing games like those as weird or bizarre. Why that was, she wasn't sure. She just knew that it'd slipped out once at school and she'd been teased mercilessly for it for a full week before it'd been forgotten about by her peers. She did giggle at the face Angel pulled when she sipped at her lemonade, which was apparently more sour than she'd expected for some reason. Maybe they'd put a new batch of it in the soft drinks machine? "O-o-o-oh wow! I-I um, I r-r-really like your bag!" Even if the hearts had been stitched on somewhat amateurishly, the fact that Angel had even customized her bag at all was pretty awesome, assuming that she'd done it herself or gotten her dad to help her with it. Personally, she'd never customized anything that belonged to her, but now she was getting the urge to try it. Maybe some patches or something on her bag? She hummed, trying to think of something to ask or talk about, though she was pretty much just drawing a blank right now. What else could she talk about? "U-u-u-uhhh, w-w-what d-d-do you w-w-want to be when you're older?" God that was such a childish way of asking that question! She coughed awkwardly, sipping at her drink again. "Y-y'know, a-after you finish school?"
"Thanks," Ava beamed at the compliment about her bag. It was nothing fancy and she knew it, but she was proud of her handiwork. Her dad was actually a better tailor or whatever than she was; he'd had to do the job of a mom as well, but Ava had picked up some stuff from him... even if she wasn't that skilled at what she'd picked up just yet. "I thought they were super cute, and I always like to make things my own, you know?" she sipped at her drink again, this time not wincing. "Even in RPG's I jump at any customization options!" There was a slight lull in the talking, but it wasn't because Ava couldn't think of anything to say. She'd just occupied herself with finishing off the lemonade for the moment. And in that moment, Luna had decided to ask something, herself. "I dunno," Ava answered honestly. "I've never really wanted a job. I'd be a kid forever if I could, but I suppose probably something I could move around a lot doing!" She'd have to actually look into that at some point.
It wasn't a surprise at all to hear that Angel was a huge fan of customizing her things, in all honesty, considering that she'd done quite a lot of it as far as Luna could see. And even if the hearts were stitched in somewhat amateurishly, they were still really cool to look at and they were making Luna feel like she should probably customize her own school bag, which was just a plain brown backpack. It was pretty old too, she hadn't replaced her school bag in a very long time after all so it was starting to feel like it would fall apart pretty soon if she kept using it. And she couldn't say that Angel's answer to her question was unexpected either, considering who Angel was and what she was like. Movement was in the girl's blood, or so it seemed at times. It would be unnatural for her to want to settle down. "M-m-m-m-maybe you should, um, l-look into w-w-working w-w-with an airline? M-m-maybe as o-one of those p-pretty air hostesses?" She offered her suggestion, thinking of just how cool it would be to run into the girl on a flight somewhere. Plus, she could totally imagine the girl doing the little safety demonstration thing with a huge grin on her face!
"Ohh a hostess could be fun~" Ava giggled at the idea. "A pretty one though?" she glanced over at Luna. The girl being cute definitely helped her feelings, but at the same time cute and pretty were two different things even if they were also sorta combined to her. "I mean, if you think so," she didn't notice she'd idly started twirling some of her hair in her finger. It wan't a normal habit for her as Ava. Angel had longer hair so she did it a little more. Not generally in response to conversations though. "But I'm not too worried about jobs yet," she reiterated. "I mean, I've still got a few years of school left, and plenty of fun to have while I can!" she nodded vigorously to herself. "Like if I were an airline hostess lady person, we wouldn't be eating pizza right now, and that would be sad probably."
"Y-y-y-yeah....i-i-is it w-w-w-weird t-t-t-t-that I said that?" Luna blushed, wondering if saying that Angel was pretty was a little bit of a step too far in terms of their friendship with each other. Well either way, it wasn't as if she could just take it back or pretend that she'd never said it, that would make her both a liar and quite rude. Still, she really did think that the girl was pretty and cute, both things being nearly identical in her mind. She didn't really distinguish between the two, but not everything that was cute was pretty. "R-r-r-r-right! I-it's a long w-w-w-way away for both of us right now s-s-s-so it's best to o-only t-t-think of it c-casually..." Though it was definitely something they needed to at least think somewhat about. A long time could pass in an instant if they spent all of it having fun and enjoying each other. "F-f-f-for what it's w-worth I um, I d-don't really k-k-know what I w-want to be yet..."
Ava shook her head insistently. "No way it's not weird, I know at least part of your tastes after our talk in TS~" she giggled to herself, feeling like that was a completely different world with different people. She stopped twisting her hair and instead tried to smooth it out a bit with her hands. "I'll take being pretty," she giggled to herself and was surprised when the pizza was sat in front of them. "Maybe we could have similar jobs in the future," she mused, though Ava didn't really want to spend too much time musing about jobs right now. She took a piece of pizza and started shaking Parmesan cheese and dried/crushed pepper stuff on it, humming happily as she did so. "Oh man this looks so good~" she took a bite and lit up. "This-" she did speak with her mouth full for a moment before remembering to swallow first. "This is the best pizza. You should take me out to eat more, Luna~"
Well she was really glad that Ava didn't think that she was weird for calling her pretty, considering that they were both well aware of the other's orientation in this sort of situation. In a way, they could both probably think of this as a date and it'd be fairly accurate. They were meeting up for dinner in a nice restaurant and enjoying each other's company, which was what most movies led her to believe was a staple for any sort of first date. The thought made her both awkward and excited. She grinned as Angel proclaimed her love of the pizza, taking her own bite with a wide smile. Yeah, there was a reason that her family kept coming back to this place and never got bored of it. They knew their pizza here. She swallowed, nodding. Maybe they could get similar jobs. "A-a-a-anytime y-y-you get the u-urge feel free to ask..."
"You could ask too," Ava shrugged. "I mean, if you want to get dinner or hang out or something. It doesn't always have to be online after all." She was really into this pizza. She didn't know if all New York pizza was this good, but she'd heard the stereotype once before she left and was pretty sure she understood why people from here didn't want to go to pizza huts and things when she heard about them back at her old home. Ava would have probably happily called the afternoon a date, but since they hadn't agreed on it it wasn't how she thought about it despite how she was basically acting like it was some cute date by sitting beside Luna and chattering away about how cute she was. "Plus since we've met in the real world we don't have to be nervous about meeting in either world~"
"F-f-f-f-fair enough....I-I'll m-make sure to ask sometimes if you w-want to go out again l-like this..." That meant that Angel was interested in meeting up with her even more after this, despite how different she looked in real life and how much meeker she felt like she was in real life. Result! She'd actually managed to impress her new friend as a bonus and gotten her into the glorious tastes of her favorite pizzeria in all of NYC, despite the fact that she hadn't really tried many others. "Y-y-y-y-yeah, we can go o-on even more da-uh, dinners t-t-together in either world!" She blushed, having almost accidentally referred to their afternoon as a date out loud, quickly stuffing some more pizza into her mouth to do her best at hiding her embarrassment from Angel. She wondered if Angel considered this a date, or at least something very similar to a date? Surely she couldn't deny that this was very similar to a typical date. She hummed, looking around before turning her attention back to Angel, smiling slightly. Even whilst they were eating, she wasn't sure she wanted the conversation to totally enter a lull. "S-s-s-so um, w-w-what's your favorite thing t-t-to eat?" Maybe next time she'd surprise the girl by taking her to somewhere that made it?
Had Luna just almost called their meal a date? This wasn't a date, was it? She'd have both dressed nicer (she did have something nice right? she hadn't worn anything fancy in..... at least over half a year?) and she'd have probably been told. Either way, Ava suddenly felt the need to sip on her own drink for way longer than she actually wanted to as she watched Luna with wide eyes and rosy cheeks. Finally, she coughed a few times from trying to down too much lemonade at once, a hand just below her throat as she did so. "I mean, of course I'd like to do more stuff with you, and food is always good," she pointed out. Ava was kind of surprised though, that Luna was asking her favorite food considering they were eating pizza. Who didn't love pizza? Yeah she was still like twelve when it came to her tastes in foods. "Uh, probably pizza," she answered as she took another bite. "Ooooor Italian food. That was always expensive where I moved from and we had to drive for awhile to get to a place that had it."
Crud! It looked like Angel had caught her little slip up, where she nearly called their afternoon dinner together a date, judging by the way the girl had all but dove for her lemonade and taken quite a large swing of it in one go. Also the slight blush on the girl's face gave it away just a little bit better too. Still, Luna blushed even more, turning her attention back to her pizza in an attempt to mask her embarrassment from the girl sat next to her. She seemed to be getting really good at sticking her foot in her mouth when she really didn't want to, especially as she was starting to get comfortable. And she really should have seen the whole pizza answer to her question coming, considering where they were and the fact that the girl had suggested a pizza parlor in the first place, though that might've also been because of the good reputation that New York pizzas seemed to garner. It certainly wasn't undeserved, at least in this particular pizza parlor. "I-I-I guess I should've seen that coming, h-huh?" She giggled, taking a sip of her cola to try to wash away her giggles. It didn't work too well. "L-liking I-Italian food is good. T-there are lots of nearby Italian r-restaurants around here, m-most of them are pretty good..." She even knew a couple, though nowhere near as well as she knew this place. "I-I could probably s-show you a few o-over time..."
"Yup! Ava's a big kid at heart, of course she'd love pizza~" she teased as she went for another piece. She wasn't the type to have to watch her weight at this point, so she didn't eat super modestly either for health or to impress. "And it's sort of Italian so I guess they're a little connected...?" The girl looked thoughtful for the briefest of moments before taking another bite of pizza and deciding it wasn't worth all that thought. "Ask away whenever you want to," Ava confirmed. "I got a big present from my grandma on my birthday and I haven't spent all my money yet. So of course I'd be happy to spend it eating places with you or... whatever." she shrugged, her tone with the word 'whatever' shifting to sound like she wouldn't mind other activities.
It was slightly obvious that Ava was a big kid in her heart, but her affection for pizza was just as fitting either way. The fun, quirky girl liking the simple yet delicious pizza was such a perfect combination that Luna couldn't help but giggle at the thought, nodding her head along with Ava's talking. "Y-yeah! T-t-the italians m-made pizza I think? P-pizza and pasta..." Or was that just a common stereotype that people used to simplify the italian cuisine? It could be, it wasn't as if Luna was the smartest girl in her class. "O-oh y-you won't h-have to spend all of it j-just to meet with me!" Gosh she'd feel awful if she made the girl waste her christmas money just to make the journey to hang out with her on a whim! "J-just ask and I'll cover the cost of t-travel and stuff f-for you! I-I actually have a job b-but don't spend any of my wage..." Granted it was barely a wage and more just pocket money, but it was still something.
