  1. Not one to drop the ball, Jack quickly followed suit in taking action along with the rest of his companions. For the time being, everyone was full health and without wounds that needed tending to. That said, he’d instead begin chanting a support spell in order to aid his allies with their efforts. Without much warning, their weapons would begin to glow with a warm and radiant fire that offered a sense of peace and tranquility.

Upon finishing the incantation, he’d position himself off to an angle behind Rudiford in an attempt to keep some distance between him and the colossal crabs. Given his lightly armored status, taking a direct hit from one of those monstrous claws lay low on his list of things to do. As for now? He’d continue surveying the battle field while looking for the best opportunity to strike. Ideally his companions would at the minimum keep the enemy’s mage occupied.

He’d call out once in an attempt to focus everyone’s efforts. “Focus the mage! Don’t let him cast, try to interrupt it or something! Rudiford can hold the line in the mean time!” Would they hear his calls for a joint effort? Only time would tell.

    ----------------------------------

    1. Casting Inner Fire (Enchant Weapon - Holy) on Alpha and Dempsey
    2. Positioning a distance behind Rudiford

  2. Nezuel had never been one for fish. He wasn't on some kind of weird diet but the taste, the feel, and the smell of the meat had always been off. Give him some fried chicken or a hamburger, screw the fishmen coming towards him. He had hoped that the shout his party member had released would draw their attention and aggro. Even as his empowered Dark Bolt flew towards the mage he could tell that it was the case. While the mage prepared himself to be hit the other continued to dance. In simple game logic that meant that the mobs were about to start trying to kill the person with the most threat....him.

Even before the bolt hit he was already turning to run, a curse muttered under his breath as he did so. He started chanting, bring up power for another bolt that he would cast normally. It wouldn't be as powerful and might be harder to control but he could cast it much quickly..and with enemies drawing closer by the second what he needed was time.

Turning he would point his entire arm at the closest fishman, his hand opening as dark energy was released from his palm. He could only hope that this bolt would knock down the fishmen as well, like it had the other. If any damage dealer was quick they might be able to pull off a critical strike at the prone fishman.

    --------

Moved farther away, cast another dark bolt.

  3. Looking at the team composition, Rudiford was 100% clear on what he needed to do. He had to man the helm of this ship and stop the giant decapods from going through him to get to the healer. From what he had gathered, the others had already started moving. One girl and her dog charged beneath one of the crabs intending on cutting its underside, while Jack shouted to the other two members of their makeshift team to disrupt the mage. Aside from the broody looking dark mage, the other three seemed rather experienced at the game. Although Alfheim Online was similar, the class roles (tank, DPS, and support) wasn’t as clearly as defined, which led to a lot of problems for the power gamers when it first launched.

Since he hated when people don’t put forth any effort to work together as a team, he acclimated himself to following the other’s lead and do the only thing he should be doing at that moment. Seeing where Alphabet charged in, Rudiford put out a shout intending on speeding her up. “Faster!” The shout should have bolstered anyone within earshot.

With a steady grip on his crude greatsword, which he held at his side with the blade descending toward the floor. At that time, he dashed forward at the crustaceans until he felt had gained enough momentum to jump from the ground and swung his massive sword upward, hoping to score a hit against one of the crab’s.

OOC: Haste Shout and aiming for the giant crab not being attacked by Alphabet.

The fishmen heading for Nezuel would find him still out of their range and continuing his magic blasts. Another fishman fell to the ground, leaving only one still actively chasing the dark magician. Meanwhile the other fallen fishman was back on it's fins and seeing it's magic using companion in danger, went to his aid. The giant crabs were mindlessly thrashing there massive claws at the small humans that were attacking them so aggressively. Even with her eyes closed. The small Alphabet easily made it past the slow but wide swing of a crab and sliding underneath cut a deep gash into it's belly. It snapped it's pinchers like mad as it received heavy damage. The other crab took Rudifrod's dead on attack well. It would rise it's right claw and bring it back down just as Rudifrod landed from his swing. Smashing into the top of his head! Finally the fishman mage saw the Felis approach and had no choice but to block again. However the block would be crushed easily by the forceful impact of Dempsey's attack. Now it stood face to face with her and had no choice but to defend itself physically or run.

    Party Actions Last Turn

    • Jack Anders used a Holy elemental attack buff on Dempsey and Alphabet! (Both have their physical offense increased by 25%)
    • Nezuel Attacks Fishman #1 with another black magic bolt. Causes light damage and knockdown!
    • Rudiford boosts entire parties speed with a haste effect! (Party speed up 5%)
    • Alphabet attacks Giant Crab #1 in it's weak spot! Critical hit for heavy damage!
    • Dempsey rushes and attacks Fishman (Mage). Causing medium damage on a blocking foe but breaking his guard!
    • Terry does little to effect the crab.
    Fishy's Actions Last Turn
    • Fishman (Trident)#2 returned to it's fins and went to defend Fishman (Mage)!
    • Fishman (Trident) #1 falls to the ground!
    • Fishman (Trident) #3 continues after Nezuel, closing in for it's attack!
    • Fishman (Mage) is in guard break and slightly disoriented!
    • Giant Crab #1 is in pain and angry snapping at the air!
    • Giant Crab #2 Takes some damage and returns the favor with a overhead claw strike for heavy damage! Rudiford is dizzy!

  5. Dempsey smiled with satisfaction as her attack landed, staggering the spell caster and breaking through it's guard as well. The attack hadn't done as much damage as she'd hoped it would though, and time was of the essence. She had to finish this and rejoin the others as quickly as possible. Eager to press her advantage, she squats and grabs a hand full of sand, throwing it in the dazed spell casters eyes to further incapacitate it. She found the idea of such a dirty and underhanded trick to be distasteful, but she knew well that the idea of fair fights only existed in the realms of fantasy or imagination.

Having done this, she laid into the fish-man relentlessly, abandoning any semblance of caution in order to land as many damaging punches and kicks as she could in the shortest amount of time possible, trusting that the rest of her group could buy her at least a little more time to finish this fight and move on to the next.

Threw sand in the fish-man mages eye, possible blind effect, continued melee attacks. (halp meh!)

  6. Alpha winced as one of the crabs brought down its claw on the red-haired man, injuring him heavily. She shared a look with Terry before the dingo rushed away, haste in getting to the wounded man's side. "Look after him, Terry!" she shouted as she turned to the two crabs. She managed to at least hurt one of them a bit, at least. The crab she had targeted had foam spewing out of its mouth and claws raised in anger from the attack. The monster's earlier attack, however, was slow and easy to dodge. In its anger, Alpha was sure she could get another attack or two in during its state. Hopefully, it won't notice her targeting its bottom until it was too late, considering how wrath blinded thoughts quite easily. The crab that has successfully attacked her teammate, however, was still there and could be a bit of trouble to handle. There were two of them and only one of her and, although she was fast, Alpha knew that one or two of their heavy, strong attacks could put her out of commission.

She looked at her spear. It wasn't long but it could definitely extend her reach by a bit. A memory flashed in her head, reminding her of the sights she saw at the fish market. A bushel of crabs in a bucket that had seemed like it was a barrel of rum for pirates. The crabs in there had snipped and snapped but her mom had used tongs and, sometimes, they would try to bend their arms back to no avail. Sometimes, their claws snapped right off and, in her few seconds of looking back, she developed a new plan of action. She held her weapon in an iron grip and rushed to the weakened crab. Hopefully, she could manage to get on the crabs back and, with its limited range, pierce its eyes with less danger.

Alpha attempts to get on the injured crab's back and pierce its eyes.

  7. A loud groan was let out as Jack watched his so called tank’s hp bar plummet. Sure the man might’ve chosen tanking masteries… but with little to no points allocated to each he might as well wear light armor. A visible frown formed as he’d begin chanting steadily to ward off any future harm for the man. Upon the spell’s completion, a translucent bubble would form around his red headed compatriot, enveloping him in a barrier to shield him from additional damage.

“There we go, that ought to hold off a few more attacks.” Satisfied with the end result, he’d begin sprinting in an arc to pass by the two preoccupied giant crustaceans who were dueling it out with Alphabet and Rudiford. Considering the distance needed to travel by the trident wielding fishman, perhaps he’d be able to use this opportunity to assist Dempsey in putting the enemy mage out of its misery.

Jack casts: Holy Word: Protect on Rudiford
He then circles past the giant grabs to assist Dempsey.

You have until 12AM tonight (or my next post afterward) to post. Otherwise you lose a turn.

  9. Rudiford was hurting real bad the moment the crab he taunted brought its claw down onto him, nearly crushing him in the process. "Ow, ow, ow, ow! that really hurts" he screamed as the claw pushed him into the sand. The pain setting he had on made it incredibly painful for the poor artist who only wanted to draw cute girls, yet, through one fate or another he suddenly got thrust into a highly dangerous situation.

    "Ugh..."

After Rudiford got back up to his feet, he dashed back to where he was originally. Spitting the sand from his mouth, he prepared to enter the fray once more. If he couldn't do damage, he could at least hold the crab from reaching the priest in the back.

Suddenly a warm sensation tickled his skin as he witness his health bar going up again. "Thanks friend!" he shouted before he returned to the fight at hand. Readying his crap sword, Rudiford shouted once more, switching his shout to a defensive one as he remained still blocking the crab from going past him.

OOC: Change to defense shout and stay still, blocking the crab.

  10. Finally it seemed like things were starting to go his way. Drawing the attention of more enemies than he was capable of had bee a very bad course of action but as more and more of their companions, most notably the mage, were damaged, the fishmen coming after Nezuel stopped and refocused their attention. It sucked for them, of course, but he was currently a bit worried about his own survival.

Drawing energy into his palm again Nezuel would do the only thing he could really do and send out another dark energy bolt, this time focused on the fishmanstill coming after him. With any luck it would hit said fishman and knock him down like the others.

He had stiill been moving away from the fishman that had been coming closer but now that his bolt was on its way he would bring his right foot out, slowly tracing a circle and starting a chant. With any luck the other fishman would refocus its attention elsewhere, leaving him with a single enemy he could knock over and over.

Dempsey throwing sand into the Fishman Mages' eyes would be successful in further destabilizing it. Then the creature's eyes bugled as she began to ram it with a series of blows. Her high martial skill unleashing a world of hurt on the petty fish monster. The creature would fall back and bleed into the sand. Killed by the furious combination. A fishman holding a trident had arrived to attack the Felis and would take a swing try to take a swing at her side.

The crabs were where the the heat of the battle was however. The Giant Crab's claw had left Rudiford in a very bad state and looked about to follow it up with another slow claw swing horizontally. The man shouted a defensive boosting ability and received the aid of Jack Anders magic. Both of these and Rudifords heroic attempt to block the incoming claw would result in some hope for the damaged fighter. The claw would crash it no his barely existing blade. Causing him to be pushed back, gliding across the sand some. It did keep him alive though. Alphabet had made her way on top of her crab. The crustacean was unable to reach her as she had quickly taken to yet another of it's blind spots. It tried to snap her off with it's claws but it missed as she pierced the crab's eye with her spear. It gushed blood as the claw was now half blind and and in agony. The claws swung wildly over the girls head...

Finally the dark mage Nezuel had yet again cause a fishman to fall to the ground. All the while the other fishman got back up and swung it's spear angrily before heading full speed for the dark mage. It was becoming a case of just knocking down one and then switching to the other for Nezuel, but they were getting closer with each cycle.

    Party Actions Last Turn

    • Alphabet climbs onto and attacks Giant Crab #1 in it's eye! Dealing medium Damage!
    • Dempsey rushes and attacks Fishman (Mage) with a devastating combination attack that defeats the monster!
    Fishy's Actions Last Turn

    • Fishman (Trident) # 1 Returns to feet and angrily challenges Nezuel with a spear swing before rushing him at full speed!
    • Fishman (Trident) #2 Makes arrives and makes a wide sweep with it's spear at Dempsey's side, only a seconds of a chance to dodge or block it!

  12. Jack had assessed the current battle field with a fleeting glance. The two giant crabs were currently locked in a duel to the death with their respective opponents. Similarly, two fishmen had blindly chased after a primarily nonfunctional mage in order to satiate their thirst for blood. As for the last trident wielding combatant, its attention was now dedicated towards Dempsey as it committed to a wide sweep. With the mage now defeated, Jack’s course of action was clear.

Having already previously positioned himself by the enemy mage, he now found himself directly by the shard. Without even pausing a beat, he’d reach down to swoop at the shining object while intentionally keeping the Felis positioned between him and the swinging trident.

Muttering words under his breath while breaking out into a full sprint, he’d erect a defensive barrier towards his flank in order to cut off any incoming attacks. For now all that was left was to simply evade or endure any attacks sent his way. Ideally however, he’d go undisturbed due to the current layout of the battle field. After all, he had been searching for this opportunity all along. Why else would the healer position himself in such a precarious spot? The answer was simple. It was premeditated.

    ---------------------------------------
Jack grabs at the prism shard while everything is distracted and makes a run for it!
    Self-cast: Barrier

  13. Rudiford was seriously struggling to fend off the crab. He couldn’t exactly fight it on equal-footings, nor could he fully eat every attack from the giant thing. But he believed he believed in the momentary friendship they had got going on, some kind of shared kinship, temporary camaraderie that would help keep them on the same page and work together to defeat all these creatures. That was… until he saw Jack simply running up and attempted to steal the shard, while the rest of the group struggled with the fight.

Logically, when one considers that the only support of the group just went and snatched the Prism Shard like that and ran… there was no way he was going to just stay and eat crab claws until he gets demolished. And no one has ever said they had to kill all of the fish people to get it either. So with that logic, Jack was doing the right thing. But, if there was something Rudiford wasn’t going to tolerate, it was a mutiny within their makeshift group.

“OIII!! You thief!!!” Rudiford shouted at the bandit thief as he kept the crab back.

“You bastard, get back here!!! AAAARGH!” He shouted, throwing a swing that was not meant to do damage but to draw distance between him and a crab, which should have given him the time to get away from it all. It wasn’t worth fighting these scary over-leveled mobs as he was right now.

“FASTER!!!” Rudiford shouted at the top of his lungs, activating the small speed boost to help him get out of the area of danger. The game never prompted them, saying they had to kill the fishmen, so running should be an okay option, right?

OOC: Rudiford turned and ran, using the speed up shout.

  14. As the fishman mage dropped to the ground (Now with 100% More being dead!), Dempsey let out a triumphant cry of "First blood! We Got this!" and it was then that she noticed Jack Anders trying to run off with the crystal that by all rights he had no claim to yet.

Furious upon watching the Illumancer take off with the crystal they'd come to retrieve, she turned her focus toward the fish man who'd had the terrible misfortune of deciding to attack her from behind at just the same moment. Though discouraged by his, she realized that learning that the man was not trustworthy was a small price to pay for a bauble that she likely had no use for anyway.

She was grazed by one of the prongs, but the flesh wound served only to enrage her further. She caught the weapon by the shaft with her off hand, pulled the shaft of the trident up and away from her, then turned to deliver a series of savage kicks to the groin of the fish man. She had no idea if the fish man had the appropriate parts down there, but her intention was to cripple the thing by shattering it's pelvis, and she was mad and it seemed like the thing to do. In the same motion, she would further tighten her control of the fishman's weapon by pining the long shaft of the weapon between her torso and left arm while still maintaining a firm grip with the same hand.

Having made eye contact with her next opponent for the first time she let out a fearsome and inarticulate roar, letting the creature know that it had chosen its opponent poorly and it's strategy in dealing with her even more so.

Grappled fishman, also kicked in the nuts, (if he has any).

  15. Alpha winced as blood gushed out of the eye socket and the crab began panicking, swinging wildly around. She somewhat regretted harming it, feeling empathy for its predicament. She took a deep breath and steeled herself, gripping onto the crab's shell tightly as to not be thrown off. Her friends and Terry were depending on her to finish the job and, well, she never liked being a disappointment. Sadly, she rose her spear up, careful to make sure not to get pierced by the pinching claws above her, and attempted to slam it into the giant crab's remaining eye.

Beads of tears began trickling out of the corners of her eyes, dripping down to stain her cheeks a flushed red. She never understood why, but she could feel the crab's fear and panic and it just crushed her heart. "I'm sorry," she whispered, as she brought the spear down. Hopefully, when it was blinded, she would be able to give it a quick way out of its misery.

    Pierced the crab's remaining eye~
