[Quest][INV] Phantom Nightmares.

  1. All things aside, Weissman had to say that this life on Terra wasn't as bed as he expected. Pulling on his gear the man stuffed the last bit of food in his mouth before starting up the link system. Laying down with his arms crossed over his chest his mind plunged into the game. After a few blinks he now stared at the ceiling of a dirty abandon building surrounded on all sides by orphans. It was afternoon now and it seemed just about the right time for a siesta for the children. After all they were working adults in children sized bodies trying to survive on their own.

A sense of pride and joy were felt in the man's chest as he slowly sat up in his bunk. Moving a sleeping child from off of his chest he laid her down in his spot and put the tattered blanket over her body. Time was running out for these kids and still not all of them were fully supplied with clothes to wear for the coming winter. He needed to work and obtain all he could for these precious NPC's. They lived life like a real human, once you are gone you never return. Flexing his fingers the man left the building out by the inner city river masking their base of operation and living. If the guards found out about this the building would be torn down and no where else for them to go no doubt.

Making his way to the Guild Hall he peaked around the building slowly. It seemed rather empty at this point besides maybe one or two people hanging out having a conversation. Moving to the quest wall the lad swiped over it pulling up different requests. He had read majority of them now he would pick up where he left off, moving to the quest in Dunnstads he let his eyes go. Scanning over the words his breathing seemed to slow as in its description it spoke about children disappearing from within their own homes as well. No doubt this beast had taken them from their beds like a sick being. No matter the nature there was a line that needed to be drawn on where to invade and where not to invade to feed ones self.

One might have said Xavier was generally angry at this point but the word displeased would suit just fine. Taking the quest tab off he kept the flyer on his person, he wanted to deal with this one himself if possible. Well perhaps he should do as Steele asked and invite another guild member in order to build their reputation among the people. Opening the list of people he scrolled till he found one person in particular that he remembered from the first meeting. Mahlthor Oakenheart was the mans name, and he too seemed rather interested in the lack of weapons ordeal.

Hey Mahlthor I have a quest that I'd like you to help me with. Here are the details! Also here are the Coordinates to get there! Let's go hunting!

    Location: Dunnstads
    Season: Summer

The residents of one of Dunnstads' outlying villages have been scared stiff by a recent threat in their midst. Children are vanishing from playgrounds, inside homes, and everywhere else. There's no place safe and the victim count has been up to six already. The brother of one of the victims claimed to have hidden from a wolf who had the ability to shape-shift into its victims. Investigate the matter, protect the children, and vanquish the hungry wolf once and for all to save all the village children from sharing the same fate as their consumed friends.

    Objectives:

    • Prevent any more children from getting eaten.
    • Kill the wolf.

Sending the message off to Mahlthor with ease the man also sent him a party invite while getting himself ready to go to Dunnstads. He needed to go an accept the quest ahead of time this way Mahlthor could just arrive and they could begin their work in the high plains and less populated sections. Double checking his trash tier gear he quickly went about gathering extra rations for the trip there. He had no doubt they could stop by the village store itself and buy more supplies if needed. Stocking up on several health potions he double checked his water container as well. Debating on getting another one he passed on that option.

Heading out quickly his legs carried him to the nearest stable. Paying up the gold pieces to rent he hopped on the mount and off he went towards the lands of Dunnstads from the city of Stokbon! The ride itself was somewhat long and tiring but he made it there long before the days end would come. As he nearest Dunnstad's bay side city he took a right and up into the high grasslands he went. The village itself was a little ways away from the city making it rather tedious for the city itself to send guards for protection. Of course the village was a poor place as well, living off of the land it was no where near a city yet.

Xavier's eyes were peeled for any caves he could spot in his ride towards the village. Crimson optics peered from beneath a dark hood which covered his head from unwanted insects in his hair. Upon arrival at the village he quickly dismounted and brought his horse to the feeding troth. Looking around he walked towards the rather frightened man who had been waiting for him at the village gates. Weissman did his best to calm the villager to no success, but still managed to accept and share the quest with Mahlthor. Now all Weissman had to do was prepare and wait.

  2. A ping would alert Mahlthor to a new message. He pauses in his current task, sparring with one of those training dummies in the guild hall, to read it.

"Oh, a message from Weissman?" he says aloud, reading the sender field of the message. "Let's see what he needs!"

"Hrm. A village is having a wolf problem, eh? Sounds like something the Guild should take interest in, don't you think?" he directs his question toward the moth and sea otter who fly (or swim) in circles around the man. "Let's see... where is this? Dunnstads. Alright, well... ready for a trip?"

    Mail

Ok, sounds good! A good mission for the Guild to handle, I say! Give me a minute, will join the party shortly.

After gathering up some basic supplies, Mahlthor tags the party request accept button, and the system handles the rest. Not long after, he arrives at the village. "Alright! Let's do this!" the man exclaims, ready for the job ahead of them.

  3. A large smile crossed Xavier's lips when Mahlthor arrived at the village a few moments later. Raising his hands in joy the man stood up from his seated position upon the rough earth. He had managed to calm the man down without having to slip a dagger into his ribs due to irritation. "Well my friend it is a pleasure to work with you at last, I am rather excited for this quest. It seems like it requires a bit of thought which it extremely helpful. Now it is day time thus we are already within the time frame of the kidnappings.. We are looking for a shape shifting wolf.. Thus we should be looking into the residents of the lost children and see what's happening." Beckoning for the other to walk with him, Xavier pointed out the few houses which had lost kids.

"My thought process is this; the wolf must establish some basis for the kids to follow it out. Thus it seems to spend a considerable amount of time within the village during the day time. Perhaps tells the children to keep quiet about them returning.. I know the orphans at home do that a lot. If one leaves then comes back, instead of receiving a welcome back, they tell them that they've found a cool place to go. So instead of alerting everyone, they keep quiet. Which means we need to get to the kids as quickly as possible. You go speak with the adults and have they lock off the exits. No one gets in or out without being checked. Especially the kids, and have the teenagers figure out all the gaps in the housing and fences.. There has to be plenty of them.. This guy didn't just stroll in here. I am going to start my look with the families." Xavier patted the man on the shoulder lightly and gave him a thumbs up.

He definitely felt that the other would be a better fit in instructing the public. He was a imposing yet inspiring figure no doubt. Looking around he kept a good tab on the kids he had seen so far. According the to fliers he had been given none of the faces that popped up seemed to be the missing kids. Turning around swiftly he grabbed Mahlthor by the shoulder, placing the extra copies of fliers in his hand before giving a wink upon departure. No doubt the man would understand what he was looking at Xavier didn't need to say anything.

Though there was one thing that bugged him deeply. Yet he could not put a figure on it just yet. Perhaps he might figure it out before it was too late, as it was the mission was nearing a crucial point and the traveling had taken most of the day away. Knocking on the first door he introduced himself and bowed to pay his respects to the family. Then he went about his questions on the wolfs method of capture aside from the leading out of the city. He wanted to know if the wolf was ever violent enough to pulled them and drag them out. The setting of a wolf looking like a man reminded him of the anime Stray, when wolves could hide in plain sight.
