Personality
Rachel's personality is best described as reserved, wanting to keep to herself as much as possible even when around friends, making her difficult to understand or read at times. Due to her reserved nature, she also has trouble communicating her feelings or thoughts on a subject and if asked a question on the spot often mutters or fumbles over her words, not knowing how to respond properly.
Despite her strong faith, Rachel does her best to not judge others in the Real World and tries to be patient with everyone and see the best in them rather than the worst, however, she has been known to be a bit naive when it comes to complex reasoning or grey areas, not really recognizing them as valid and seeing use of them as someone trying to avoid taking responsibility for their true actions.
When with her friends, Rachel is still as quiet as ever but is more likely to smile and occasionally comment on the goings-on around her while serving as a sort of calming force to balance out rowdiness with her friends.
Positive: Patient, Loving, Loyal, Faithful, Honest.
Negative: Reserved, Depressed, Fearful, indecisive, insecure.
Biography
Rachel was a girl that never really felt as if she belonged to any of the typical groups that children and teens her age were in, nor did she ever feel strongly connected to any particular person for most of her life and had instead found most of her meaning and purpose in Faith. Rachel was an avid churchgoer and joined a youth ministry as soon as her parents allowed it, going on trips and spending her summers there where she felt her connection with her faith grow and even managed to gain a few friends in the process.
It was during this time that Rachel began to develop feelings for one of her fellow camp-mates, a girl named Heather who seemed to reciprocate her feelings by sneaking a squeeze of the other girl's hand or resting up against her when everyone was gathered at a campfire, small things at first which would grow as the two began to see that the other was feeling the same way.
Eventually, the two girls began to date in earnest, keeping it secret from both of their conservative families and instead, acting as if they were merely friends while they showed their true feelings in private with one another. Things never progressed past the occasional curious kiss or close cuddling as the two slept together, but both girls felt as if this was both scandalous and yet the most exciting and wonderful thing that they had ever experienced.
After a year of this, however, things came to an end when Heather explained what the two were doing to one of the ministers at their camp and the girl was subsequently expelled and her parents were informed, which led to an emotional break-up with Heather as well as a heated exchange with her parents shortly after, culminating in Rachel packing up and leaving her home (with her parents consent in doing so) and making her way to one of the few friends she had made and staying with them until she was able to get on her own feet.
During her time with her friend, she had received the client in a strange email that was forwarded to her by one of the kids from her old youth ministry and began playing after receiving a spare virtual reality set-up from one of her friends and has quickly become enamored with the game and spent her time sense devoting herself completely to it and escaping from the troubles of the real world.
