New, fresh even. Touring around the real world was great and all, but something about these vast plains was a new experience all together. Such a calm, serene view, with the varying wildlife and travelers milling about on his or her business. Everything was in order, just like that buff old Felis chasing down a Grass Knoll fearing for its life after its attempts at destroying a caravan. He had a booming voice aligned with a mountain crumbling laughter, "Boy yew best git yer sorry ass over here 'fore Ah git madder! Ain't no lil' bastard's gonna harm some innocent fokes on mah watch!" Odin unleashed a swipe with the longsword in his right hand, then another with his left. Considering he was not quite equipped yet, since he just started his reign of justice and evil smiting, these weapons were not in the best shape. The gnoll had just about enough of the old fool, pivoting around on his foot, and swinging his club at Odin at full force. Brows raised with a resounding, bass hum as the white haired Felis brought his swords up in the nick of time, blocking the strike and sliding his foot back to keep his stance up, "Oh... so ya do got a bit of fight in yew. Just how Ah like 'em!" Odin practiced that little trick back in that 'Newbie' area. Something to that effect. People called things in different ways here. Got it right the first time too! Or second... maybe third... perhaps more than the old man preferred. Regardless, a growl decided to creep from his throat, wide grin and crazed eyes ready to demolish the gnoll who made an honest attempt to fight back. Unfortunate that even a new player had the reaction time to finish off this so called proper bandit. Dashing forward, the muscled elder brought his right sword upwards in a diagonal slash, contorting his body bring his left sword around and strike right through the gnoll in one, fell swoop. But that was not the end of it. To finish off, Odin took a mighty leap forward and brought his swords down in one, simultaneous motion. Bam. That was the end of the gnoll who refused to take pity on a mere group of innocents. Whipping his swords in the air to clean off some blood, Odin unleashed his voice into the air, "BAHAHA! Come on yew cowardly bastards! Ya'll agonna be scared of an old bastard like me, ain't ya." Arms remained outstretched at the old man's decree, as though taunting any others ready to strike. He might be in over his head, but this was just a game really. Nothing of actual consequence was going to ruin his fun. At most, the rustling of different patches of grass indicated something else was in there. "GOOD," Odin said, "Ah can always git dinner in the oven a bit later if'n ya'll ready fer this!" @Nyx
Watching the events unfold was almost slightly laughable. The girl happily swinging her legs off the back of the caravan and giggled at how the old man was talking. Sure it was rude to disrespect elders in such a way but how could she pass up such a purrfect chance to do it? When he had the guts to challenge more of the creatures to combat Nyx could only sigh lightly, moving to stand up as she tapped the butt of her staff against the wooden floor of the transportation and began chanting. As her chant finished she tapped the staff three more times each forming a small orbs behind the girl. Empress cores (Arcane | Fire | Lightning) Waving the staff towards the older male as each orb began to drift around him, staking over his head as to avoid blocking his view as the slowly moved clockwise, Nyx herself slowly waving her staff in circles to keep them moving. She was not yet strong enough to use her empress orbs freely so she would be a sitting duck if they reached her, but that was the fun of the game to risk it all right? When the knolls began to rush towards Odin Nyx would move her staff to guide her ranged attack after any Odin would not be able to reach at the same time. ”Come on now grumps don’t let Nyaa out dos you~” Her playful voice chiming out loudly so he could hear her over the fighting and buzzing from the orbs. Waving her staff dramatically and nearly hitting the head of the person making sure the horses stayed on course her orbs would fly across the fields. Sadly for each orb’s element was still hard to control causing her to set the grass on fire and send lighting everywhere from the quick and large movement. But in good terms she was able to hit a enemy trying to take out the horses before keeping her focus on those approaching from the front and sides so Odin has less to worry about. A proud smile she had not blown herself up so far while using three spells at once.
Silly gnoll decided to run at him and take the first swing. Odin much enjoyed his opponent taking the first shot, since it gave him the opportunity to ready another maneuver and get the first, actual hit in. The old leopard clashed his sword with the bandit's club, both combatants locked in with fearsome eyes. It was the rush, the sheer bursts of power that enticed the aging Felis to assault any mob in his way. Just like the old days in the military. Without the consequences, of course. Damn the consequences. He was his own man in this world, not shackled by some goddamn injuries which lead to his limping body which rest on a bed at this moment. The locked in combatants pushed forward, weapons clanging as they each leapt back to gain a better grounding. A gnoll's club, so it seemed, had a wider arc and a bit slower attack speed. Or at least, the Felis hoped that is how he was supposed to judge things in this game. Regardless, he still had quite a bit of fight left in him. After all, the battle just started, "Tough bastard ain't yew?" Once more, the gnoll rushed down the ex-soldier, wild swings attempting to bash in Odin's skull. Childish. By now the pattern had become clear, the leopard like cat man diving underneath a swing and bringing a sword upwards. Flesh and blood soared through the air, the sword cutting through the shoulder and flying towards the neck. Right on the money. Odin used his free sword to deliver the final blow through the back of his target, slaying the bastard. His ears twitched, the rustling grass showing more signs of distortion. A growl rose from his throat, "Smart bo-" Explosions interrupted the man's words, various magics incinerating these hideous gnolls from the hell called life. The voice of a young woman darted through the air in efforts to chastise the old man. Odin, however, was not the sort of elder to berate someone and begin a heart attack inducing tirade. "Darlin', if'n yew saw me back in the day, yew would know which of us can outdo the other," he called over, rushing back towards the caravan. It was the other two naughty gnolls who needed a thorough punishment. They thought combat distractions allowed them to get a free shot at the caravan, but the watchful eyes of a feline were not to be trifled with. Catching up to the two bandits in arms, Odin slid in between both of them, crossed his swords together, and swung both outwards in a spinning whirlwind of death and metal. The muscled senior citizen landed in a wide stance, recuperating a moment before rising to his full height, "GODDAMN that right there felt gewd!" His throat rumbled, that infamous, silly chuckled echoing across the plains. "Now pray tell wut the sam hell possessed yew ter help me escort these fine fokes here? Didn't think anyone else was like me and helped someone on a whim," Odin said. He wandered up to the back of the caravan where @Nyx remained, the old man keeping up a near jogging pace to keep himself with the caravan.
”If I am being honest I had no plans of helping, I simply needed a ride to the next town to explore this world and they allowed me to ride along with them.” Nyx would slam her staff down before waving her hand to send her remaining orbs across the area to block more of the creatures from reaching the group as she slouched slightly. Her energy flickering as she growled to herself. Snapping her fingers as the arcane orb exploded followed by the lighting orb, a quick attempt to slow down her energy drain but keep fighting. Tapping her foot as she watched the flames starting to spread she could only sigh lightly and snap her fingers to remove her last orb and start a different chant. Snow dance Slowly the sky turned to storm clouds and before long the area was being drenched in rain, while it should have been snow due to the heat of the fire the ice specks melted to water and began to fight the raging flames Nyx had caused. Slamming down to sit on the back of the wagon as she grumbled and her tail flicked around with annoyance. She was still limited in what she could do and it was truly angering the girl. ”I’m not exactly happy to have to help! My energy is not exactly agreeing with me since I only started not long ago and want to use my full Empress core set!” A spoiled kid, was not exactly far from what Nyx was in real life to be honest. Although she was more a spoiled actress with social issues off set since her agent refused to let her get out much, that thus causing people to spoil her when she was seen turned her into slightly spoiled and she knew that much. @Odin Savage
Someone was being selfish today. Well then. The old man was going to have to make due with what he got, even if it meant dealing with a lady who veered on brat status. But then, who was Odin to make claims of somebody's selfish desires, when he was the epitome of being stubborn until he got what he wanted? A few bonks on the head did the trick when the aging man got that way. Perhaps a few strikes to the gut as well. Odin let out a chuckle, "Caint say there's somethin' wrong with wantin' ter explore this here world. Got a few curiosities mahself and all. If'n they let yew tag along there ain't no reason fer me to tell 'em otherwise. Not my caravan." His brow quirked when more magic orbs were shot towards the oncoming gnolls. Less of them had appeared at this point, knowing full well there was little point in continuing the assault. "Them mean lookin' bandits are startin' ter learn a bit. Heh heh, they best keep their distance from us," he said, a wild grin crawling across his cheeks. Fighting was entertaining while it lasted, but there was such a phenomenon called too much of a good thing. Doing all of that fancy stuff from one place must have been a sign of practice considering the young woman took care of the bandits like they were nothing. Of course, with the old man's help. Upon mention of the Empress core set, his brows rose up with curious eyes, "Uuuh, Empress wut set? Gotta say Ah ain't exactly the feller who's been 'round these game thangs all that much." It took, what, a good four hours for his living assistant to explain how MMOs and games worked? The final concept was not too hard to imagine, but the whole number crunching and skill branch stuff was one hell of a lesson. Helped that Terrasphere involved actual movement the old Felis was able to control with a physical body of some kind. Much better than his struggles trying to comprehend the intricacies of skills bars and mouse clicks. Oh did Meredith want to bash her head into the wall a few times watching Odin struggle in the real world. Poor girl. "By the way darlin', name's uuuh," he started, blinking a moment before realizing he went by a different title here, "Odin Savage, yep! Ain't been here much ter figure out how everythang works. Well, 'side from killin' a few bastards. Don't 'spose yer more knowledgeable than me and feel like helpin' an old man work his way up?" @Nyx
