  1. Realizing their predicament, the group suddenly begins to focus all effort on the Rockbeast Elder. Aaron strikes first, and is again successful. He is quick to realize that though the elder poses a great threat in it's own right, it is not nearly as well protected as it's younger counterparts. Again, he lands a very effective strike against the creatures softer hide, injuring the elder badly.

Roland is not so fortunate, though his efforts are not without reward. His unwavering assault on the elder does little visible damage, but he is successful in putting a wide crack in the creatures natural armor. Undaunted by his lack of success, he prepares to exploit this vulnerability.

Merkaba again relies on her magical prowess and showers the trio of monsters with spears of dark, corrupting energy. The majority of them find their mark, though one deflects off the thick hide of the surprisingly magic-resistant elder. The cumulative injuries from the group forces the elder to halt his powerful, earth shaking wail so that he may defend himself properly.

Their plan is not without flaws however, as focusing their attention on the elder leaves the entire group exposed to the assault of the two adolescents beasts. Perceiving Aaron as a much greater threat than Roland, he is mauled relentlessly as the creatures launch an assault against the paladin. With his back turned, he has little chance to resist the attacks from behind. The first unguarded attack staggers the paladin, though thankfully his armor does well to reduce the damage he takes. The second beast snaps at his leg, pulling the man to the ground and opens a considerable wound in the mans flesh. Though not bleeding badly, the injury hobbles the paladin, and he finds it difficult to stand on his feet, let alone move at a pace faster than a slow crawl.

  20. As Roland's blade glided along the Elder's shell gently caressing the reptilian appendage Roland cringed. "This isn't working." He said mainly to himself as he jumped backward avoiding a half hearted counter attack. He took a moment to catch his breath as he observed the enemy before him, it had seemed that his attack wasn't as useless as he thought it was as it had created a large crack in the middle of its armor.

"It looks like its shell is finally wearing down!" Roland yelled at his teammates turning around for the first time to see Aaron hamstrung by the two beasts. He began to turn to help the man before stopping. "No, the elder is the true threat, the paladin can take care of himself for the time being." Roland then returned his focus to the elder with the cracked shell, hopping into the air as his blades began to glow blue due to the activation of a skill, "Double Fang!" roared out of Roland's throat as he came crashing down upon the beast delivering two quick blows to the wound.

((OOC: I rolled an 18 in the other thread, sorry for the poor post half awake, irl stuff has caught up with me DX))

  21. Merkaba watched as her spell worked on the creatures. Somehow the fools that she was working with actually avoided the attack. Good she did not need to have to carefully keep her magics from misfiring due to others mishaps. It would be time to cast yet again. She intended to continue her focus on the elder. This time perhaps a more focused attack would speed this little scuffle along. She stayed put and continued her chanting while spinning her scythe slowly in front of her. Her body once again emitting that familiar purplish aura.

"A procella caedis in abyssum irent. Veni in manus tua, et non faciunt. Hoc iter orbis terrarum, et conteret inimicis meis inanis...Capsule Abyssal!"

Letting go of her scythe with one hand and thrusting the palm of that hand onto the ground. A small shadowy ripple would spread from around her hand into the floor itself. She stood back up straight and waited for a short time as the battle played out. If the debuffs faded she would likely have to cast Malefic Breath again. Sigh... could not these people use a attack that causes some damage? This was why magic, especially that of the almighty darkness was the only true path. Otherwise she would be out there hacking at stone as well.... or not. She would not have even taken such a quest to begin with.

As she thought this a shadowy energy claw came thrusting from the ground out of a ripple beneath the Elder. It would try to grasp the creatures large body to squeeze it for damage, but if it was too large it would simply tear at it with it's pointy shadowy fingers of dark mana. Then it would sink back into the ground having performed it's purpose.

(Cast Abyssal Claw to attack the Elder with dark magic)

  22. Aaron shouted in pain as he was first staggered and then completely brought down and hamstringed by the rockbeasts. He was alerted of his new status and he cursed, realizing movement would be nearly impossible unless he spent time healing himself now. Yet he needed to press on, take out that elder while he still could.

He rolled on to his back, slashing upward at the beast. While doing so, he moved his legs in to make himself a smaller target, and gripped his shield tightly so that he wouldn't lose it as he used it to try to ward off any attacks that would soon be coming. This wasn't going well. This wasn't going well at all.

He noticed that Merkaba's precious attack hadn't seemed too useful against the elder. Could it be possible that the creature had a magic resistance? He cursed. "Merkaba! Focus on the two regular beasts! I think the elder might resist magic, at least to some degree!" He shouted. Hopefully she wasn't going to be a damn idiot and keep attacking the elder if his theory was right. There was pride, and then there was suicidal arrogance.
