That was today’s buzz word. It was all the patrons at the bar could talk about and while Addison didn’t have a personal feeling about them at the beginning of her shift, by the end of it, she was wondering if it wasn’t something she could one day look into. Hell, you didn’t have to worry about bills or rent or groceries. Being in a vegetative state and just playing video games all day? What was wrong with that? It wasn’t like she had anyone out here to worry about or who worried about her.
And that was the mindset that she entered Terra Sphere in. Logging in and adopting Savannah’s more…carefree attitude was difficult. She wasn’t nice to the NPCs when she left the tavern & inn as her tip was low and she didn’t bother to say farewell. She just left; set out on the dirt road with her head down and her hands swinging at her sides and her weapon strapped to her back. This world felt more real to her than the one she was living in and that thought was…well…unsettling.
Savannah walked for a while, her thoughts tumbling over themselves to get to the forefront of her mind and shout their opinion only to be bulldozed over by another thought which had something contrasting to say. She stuck to the side of the road, not glancing up as all manner of mounts and people passed her, either on their way into the city or out of it. The summer air smelled of flowers and fruit, a pleasant mix, and the sun was warm on the top of her head but not uncomfortably so.
The sound of someone calling out caught her attention and broke her circular thought pattern. She blinked and looked up, surprised that she was so far out of the city by now and amazed at the rolling grasslands and farmsteads that dotted the horizon before her. But that wasn’t what caught her attention, no. Someone was calling to her and, when she glanced around to make sure, she was surprised once more to see them beckoning her over. Brow furrowing, she took a hesitant step forward before giving herself a mental shake and proceeding to jog over.
Stopping about five feet away, she gave a friendly smile and lifted her hand in what would have been a wave if she would’ve remembered to do the gesture.
Hey, uh, do I know you? she asked, eyes wary.
Were you even meaning to call me over? Maybe someone that was behind me?
She looked back to the road and saw no other person. Shrugging her shoulders and shaking her head, she cleared her throat and gave a small chuckle.
Guess not~ do you need help with something? I’m Savannah by the way.
