Underneath of Stokbon is a vast array of tunnels. Many leading to places that even the royalty do not know about. It is said that no one has ever fully explored what is down there. One of those many areas, is the sewer system. Which harkens back to times before the fall of humanity. It is a mysterious place that is still used as the disposal area for the waste of the Holy Capital. The only accessible point any longer seems to be a area in the old town of Stokbon. One can lift the old bared gate and go down a long ladder to find themselves in a maze of sewage.

What may you find down here in a relic of the past?

This dungeon is a Mega Dungeon. The participants will start at the Stokbon Sewer's Entrance and will proceed into each new segment as they reach DC goals. Be prepared for a long haul with increasing difficulty.

    Objectives
    • Explore the sewers and make your way deeper underneath the Falderen Capital to find out what may await you...

    Posting Rules:
    • Roll in the appropriate thread first before you reply here.
    • Minimum of 100 words and max of 400 words, excluding the OOC stuff.
    • Only 1 reply per cycle (dictated by DM's post).
    • You will move to the next area when you fill the progress track. The longer you stay in an area, the more danger you'll be exposed to.
    • You can leave the dungeon at any time.

After moving passed the surprisingly easy to lift gate. You would descend a short flight of stairs and see a hole with a ladder leading down into the darkness. The first thing you would notice upon descending, would be the stench of distant sewer water. Dim lighting is the only source of illumination down here. Granted by the occasional sewer drain letting the light of day into the tunnels.

The sewer water flows quietly through the middle of the tunnel. It would be impossible for anyone without some Rogue or Arcanamancy mastery to make it over to the other side without falling into the filthy water. The tunnel goes both to the left and right.

    What do you do?

  5. The dark haired support simply waited outside the sewer until the rest of his guild mates had arrived at the entrance. Having previously arranged for a date and time to meet up at the rendezvous point, he’d let out a lazy yawn while stretching for a few moments in anticipation of the others.

Upon each of their arrivals, Jack waved amicably to each newcomer. “Glad you could make it. Hope you brought some nose plugs…” His back still leaned against the structure forming the entrance, he’d crinkle his nose at the few weak wafts that drifted out from inside. It was only after all four of them had convened that Jack would even set foot into the foul confines of the underground dungeon.

Allowing the two who had previously entered and found the next level of the dungeon to lead the way, he’d follow cautiously behind their steps in order to not get lost. In the meanwhile, he’d stir up some small talk while whispering in hushed tones.

“I know you guys cleared this level already… but what’s the odds of running into more stuff? Offspring, or perhaps monsters have respawn timers?”

  8. Roland yawned as he neared the sewer entrance. Admiral and Noah were nowhere to be seen. Which was a shame since it was the duo that had apparently already adventured into the area, finding a deeper more dangerous area underneath. The only person who had made it on time was Jack, who for now stood near the stone wall that made up the entrance to the sewers.

Jack's comment caused Roland in involuntarily sniff the air, "God that's awful." he replied as he recoiled in disgust, "I guess this place truly is surprising, let me see if I have anything to help." Nonchalantly Roland swiped through a few invisible menus before him quickly producing a small vial in his hand. "The lack of weight limits make it easy to carry around pretty much anything," Roland said as he dipped a droplet of the potion on his finger smearing it above his lip, directly beneath his nose before holding it out for @Jack Anders. "Don't ask me what it's actually made out of, but in this form, it's basically just menthol, it should help with the smell for now at least."

Hopefully, after this point, it wouldn't be too long till the others arrived and they continued forward into the sewers. Before they could though Roland would look around blinking in confusion, "Wait aren't we suppose to wait for The Admiral?" Clearly, he had not been up on the whole, gender swap shenanigans that have occurred. Once the obvious was explained to him, he would blink, act as if he was about to ask a question a few times before settling on, "Wait, you can do that?!" After this, he'd seem to be lost in inquisitive thought as if reconsider life choices.

  11. It was an interesting experience, moving through the streets of Stokbon a hated woman. Had her relation to the guild Yulan been less public and obvious, she would not be stopped at every street corner and harassed by small mobs that continued to pelt her with rocks and rotten vegetables. Had she kept it secret in the past, then she wouldn't be stopped by bounty hunters at every alley she passed and have to walk through their overly eager way as they refused to let her pass. Nobody was dead, but she didn't know how long it would be before guards came searching for her, so it was with great haste that she tried to finally make it to the sewer entrance.

Jack and Roland were already present and she passed both as she entered the horrible old place which had a sudden minty smell thanks to the alchemist.
"Present and accounted for," she responded to Roland's question about waiting for her to join them, which humored her greatly. "Or did you not recognize my ruggedly handsome looks, Batman? Though it is hard to grow a good beard now that I'm a woman."

She chuckled at his outburst, wondering exactly how blown his mind must be.
"Comes with the respawn option... Change your appearance around, including gender. I felt uncomfortable being in a man's body so I switched to what I'm used to in my day to day life. Plus a little muscle and a crooked nose, of course..." She thumbed the bridge of her nose, visor of her bascinet helmet raised for right now, and the crooked bend in the bridge showed where the avatar's nose had been broken and set improperly, adding a rough amazon aesthetic. Reaching down to her side, she pulled out a scroll of parchment and handed it off to Jack for he and Roland to inspect.

"Last time we were here, I took the liberty of mapping everything. It's a very small first floor; to get to the next area we basically just turn left from the entrance, cross the bridges, and make it to the grate. I'm not sure if the mobs respawned since last time, but they were a total joke back then so... I think even the power of Roland's perfume would kill them." She tossed him a wink and looked at the flask of perfume, beginning down the leftward path towards their destination.
"Or, are you going to try to convince me that's 'body spray' or something less emasculating?"

  14. Noah checked his gear one last time before heading off towards the sewers. He had recently purchased a potion and some food that was said to boost his sneaking skills, something that might be of importance when dealing with the roaches down below. Noah found that the city of Stokbon was not all too pleased with members of the Yulan Dragons, thankfully for him he was able to move through the city with little drama thanks to the rogue’s ability to dawn on a quick disguise and stealthy movements. The city guards did not even give him a second look when he passed them. He weaved in and out of the area until he found himself at the sewer gate, noticing that it had already been moved he figured that his teammates would already be inside waiting. He quickly descended down into the dark stench and saw the three of them standing a bit away from the entrance, almost as if they were about to head off into the dark without him. He had worked with Addy a few times but the other two members he had never really even formally met, though he had bought a potion from one of them for this very encounter. With light steps, Noah approached the group just as Addy was discussing her gender swap. “Yo, sorry I’m late. Shall we get this fun adventure going?”

Noah had been the one last time that had found the secret entrance to the inner sewer region, it would make sense that he would lead the pack for now, plus his speed and stealth skills would allow him to spot any roach patrols that may be roaming the sewer path. He popped a handful of the cat rice in his mouth and noticed a status icon pop up in front of him for a fleeting moment. The rice was supposed to increase his stealth skill beyond what it currently was, hopefully this would prove beneficial to the group in some sort of way. He turned to Addy, whom he was still trying to adjust to the thought of being a girl. “Shall I lead the way this go around?” He did not know the other’s skill sets yet, hopefully the short walk to the inner area would give them all a chance to discuss a strategy.

The party was making very good progress. Possibly because of the fact half of them had already explored this place. However this did not prevent the local creepy crawlies from giving the unwelcome guests a surprising or not so surprising party! They would hear skittering followed by suddenly seeing a group of giant roaches rush from nearby cracks! They came from the walls, and ceiling! Dropping down unto the party like a nasty roachy rain!

  18. Alpha gulped as she materialized through the dungeon after she had vacantly accepted the dungeon request pop-up. She didn't know what was going on or where she was (she vaguely remembered the word 'sewer' being in the wording somewhere on the quest but she opted to ignore that line of thought lest she be too repulsed to do anything but bemoan her fate) or who the people around here were; although, if she paid attention, she would recognize Roland Rutledge being one of the many surrounding her. She withdrew from her confused thoughts when she heard a chatter above her and, slowly, she craned her head upward and blanched. "Wait, what?!" she stuttered, her pallor akin to that of an old ghost.

As the cockroaches began to drop down from the ceiling, ambushing the party before introductions could even begin, Alpha let out a wailing screech as she ducked for cover (there was no cover) and cried. "Ew, ew, ew!" she attacked wildly, swinging her weapon left and right with her eyes clenched shut and her body tense and rigid with fear and disgust. She managed to grievously harm one of the six insects but it barely made a dent in their numbers with her unruly swipes and slashes. "Get away!" she pleaded to the soulless eyes of the cockroach bandits. Arachna was one bug too many and she had enough with all these spiders and cockroaches and beetles and everything in this game. She should've just stayed in Norforva with the bloodied wolves. At least they were cuter than this.

  21. Just as Noah was waiting for the group to decide what the game plan was, he heard the sound of a young girl’s voice. He turned around to see another member of the guild standing there before him, though her name escaped his mind. He focused his eyes on her and noticed her name floating above her head, Alphabet Chocolate, an odd name but this was a videogame. “Hey there, are you here to help out on the mission as well?” Just then, before Noah could react, a giant roach fell from the ceiling and landed right behind him. It took a bite at him and seemed to strike right on his left arm causing him to let out a wince in pain. He quickly and effortlessly drew his blade and swung at the roach with all his might causing it’s head to cave in under the weight of his blade.

The young woman that had materialized had let out a screech that would echo throughout the sewer. God willing it would not alert any more enemies to their location. She had swung without any direction and Noah had to back step and avoid one of the swings. It might have been luck or some secret skill but she was able to carve her blade into one of the six roaches, with her killing one and Noah’s they had lowered the number to four roaches. Noah saw a roach approach the young girl from the back, though the path was narrow there was enough room for him to maneuver around her with a half spin, using the momentum in an upward swing at the creature. His blade founds its mark right in the belly of the roach, splitting it in two.

  24. Roland nodded at Admiral’s explanation, clearly bewildered and resumed to follow behind the group silently as if in thought. It had seemed Admiral had decided to scrawl out a map from the last time, he/she was here noting it with a childlike level of artistry. They continued into the sewers when they were suddenly accosted by a group of giant roaches. Roland grinned it was finally time for combat. At last he could show off his expert level swordsmanship, which was only intensified by his ability to dual wield. But low and behold the roaches were immune to swords, so Roland threw a rock at them instead. And it wasn't even a bounce rock.

  27. Roaches! In the sewer! Why were people surprised by this? How had everything gone to hell sooooooo quickly? Between the new kid screaming, Roland throwing rocks at the things in a desperate bid to fight the things off. Noah at least had his shit together and was slicing the things apart stroke by stroke, as he'd done previously. Sighing in annoyance, she swung one of her hammers and crushed one of the roaches clinging to the nearby wall, then swung through the air and splattered another couple onto the far side of the sewer's walls.

"Alright, we need to get organize, now," she hissed in annoyance, amazed at the swift display of incompetence from their group. "Jack as the ranking officer is obvio-" she turned to gesture at the man, only to find that he was gone. Had he... She quickly popped open a menu and checked the guild status, noting who was on or offline. The fucking BASTARD. Practically snarling in anger, she gestured at everyone around her with one of her hammers, pointing at each in turn.
"Right. We need to decide on a leader NOW to follow orders from, because democracy does not work at every encounter. In the heat of a battle, in the instinct of a situation, there needs to be one unified effort in tackling things. So, who among us do we feel is most qualified to lead?"

    Stokbon Sewers - Checkpoint

    [ 500 / 500 ]

You've reached the gate that was discovered some time ago by a earlier party of explorers! However now it is time to venture into this deeper and more dangerous area. Your party now has a choice:
    • Continue on to Stokbon Sewers: Inner Area.
    • Exit the dungeon via the Checkpoint Crystal.
Notice: Exiting the dungeon via the Crystal will allow you and other parties to return here at a later date. However it will cost a teleportation fee. Please make a single post with your character maximum of 100 words on whether or not they decide to stay or leave.

    Checkpoint

  29. With the giant cockroaches finished off easily by Admiral the team easily made their way to the last section of her map. There standing in the middle of the sewer was a large crystal that seemed to be capable of teleporting people to and from it. Interesting, but not as near as interesting as the possibility of finding something new. Stealing himself, Roland nodded to the group to head onwards into the Sewer's Inner area. "Let's go, if you need someone to follow, follow me."

  30. After brushing herself off and scrubbing her hands together, shivers running up her spine from the mere memory of being near the gigantic creatures, she listened to Roland's words and followed after him with a nod. "Sure can do Rudolf!" she cheered, eager to follow the lead of someone she was somewhat acquainted with and someone who would take all the stress of decision-making from her. She didn't even check to see what the crystal could do before she turned around and made her way through the gate.

  31. With a satisfied node, the Admiral followed behind Roland and Alphabet. Of the four people present, she trusted herself the most... but Roland had a steady way about him. At least he used to; lately, he had seemed off somehow, which made her slightly concerned.
"Following, Sir," she responded to Roland as she accepted him as group leader and moved to enter the next level of the dungeon.
