  3. Roland took one look at the slimes as they began to gather on the floor before him, before wrinkling his nose at them. He'd likely need to help deal with the three of them at some point but he was going to go out of his way to save those nasty things for last. Not only were they hard to kill, but they just simply ended up getting everywhere, his swords skills were simply poorly designed to take care of such creatures. Instead, Roland fixated his vision on the plague worms that had popped up out of the ground.

How many enemies were there? Were they outnumbered? There wasn't any time to count, Roland tossed his vial before him landing on the ground between the party and the approaching monsters. It wouldn't serve any purpose but illiumnate the area in which they were fighting. A heartbeat later Roland unsheathed both his blades and dashed forward aiming his blade in an arc that aimed at the center of one of the worm's body. If successful, the blade should easily travel through its flesh allowing Roland to prepare for the next one.

  6. The haze over the Admiral's thoughts began to clear, her focus returning just in time to witness the emergence of several dangerous creatures for them to fight. She drew her two hammers and gave a huff, ready to clobber something and finally put herself to use in the group. Noah's admission of being poisoned came as no shock, considering the amount of dangerous atmosphere around them. Nothing here seemed like it wouldn't kill you, and it was a miracle more of them weren't poisoned. Well... that they knew of.

She held her ground and waited for Roland to give them orders to engage- to voice some sort of battle plan, for dealing with the monsters so that they all came out alive and healthy in the end. As he ran off alone though and began to engage the worms without so much as a cough in their direction to indicate what they ought to be doing, she gave a sigh. The fight had to be structured as something more than a mad dash brawl where everyone hit anything they could until everything was dead... A sort of symphony had to be found, where the battle progressed one simple note to the next; but in the end, appeared to be a well orchestrated whole. Roland's job as the party leader had been to conduct that music and give the players their pace and piece. He knew their instruments; now he needed to decide how to put them to use. But alas, there he was, slashing at worms ahead of everyone else.

"Sod it," she snarled almost under her breath and pointed one of her hammers at Noah.
"Runt, heal Noah's poison before it cripples his health too much. Noah, focus the worms with Roland so that you can get them out of the picture quickly. I'll take on the slimes alone for now; once the worms are gone Noah and Roland support me offensively while Runt removes any debilitating effects or heals injuries. Runt, if we aren't taking too much damage, see if you can use your naturamancy to magically strike at the slimes. I know from experience normal weapons don't work too well on them but some magical thorns might." With her instructions given, she waited to see if people would comply or opt for the "free for all brawl" technique, and ran forwards to engage the slimes alone before they could reach and overwhelm Roland.

A black glob of acidic slobber was launched through the air, from which one of the slime trio she didn't know, and smudged her arm with a burning hiss, smoke pouring from out of the wound. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ouch!" she tried to pat the wound dry in a panic as her health bar dropped down. By the time the burning sensation faded away, she found that she had another situation on her hands.

Alpha groaned as a set of familiar letters popped up on her screen. Poisoned. Again. Before she had much time to bemoan her situation (she had just gotten rid of that awful condition and here it was, shiny and brand new, five seconds later!), she was reminded of Noah's own predicament by the words of the heavily-armored lady that accompanied them. Bleh.

"Okay, let's forget that happened!" she said as she raced away from the monsters hindering their continued movement through the sewers. Noah was in her sight as she stretched her palm outward, a green residue staining her hand, as she attempted to thrust it at the man's shoulder. "Get over here so I can heal you!" she shouted.

  13. The fighting raged around her as the party leapt into action, moving to dispatch the plague worms and black slimes with haste. Alphabet followed good form in immediately trying to heal Noah of his poison, but the man succumbed to additional injuries almost immediately. Growling at the beating they were slowly taking, she focused on tearing apart the black slimes before her. One had already been crushed into a paste, which left a remaining two that assailed her and left a dark ichor on her shoddy armor. It seeped through the openings in the armor and burned her skin beneath, but she had no time to worry over a little pain.

It didn't take a glance at her teammates to know that things were going downhill. After striking the slimes in front of her she took a step back and turned to Alphabet, to see what the kid was up to. "Group heal!" she instructed @Alphabet Chocolate, knowing that they needed a slight boost in their health if they were going to keep pushing.

As Roland's sword passed through the plague worm with relative ease. As he looked around though he found himself surrounded by the things as his allies had seemingly gone missing. The Admiral had headed to the slimes, but Noah had all but disappeared while Alpha stood nearby. Refocusing his gaze Roland stared down the slimes the girl was attacking, it seemed they were resistant to her attempt, leaping out and attacking her in lewd ways.

With a grit of his teeth Roland pulled from his current opponent and headed in her direction, "Why are we splitting up our damage exactly?" he said in a frustrated scream as he brought his sword down ineffectively on top of the slime's jelly head. It seemed his weapons were about as useful as Admiral with a grunt Roland called out a conflicting order, "Forget healing Alpha! We need magic to help finish these off, I have potions for later."

Alpha nodded. She had a more cordial relation to the easygoing Roland compared to the more scathing Admiral and had found his instructions to be more appealing (whether her opinion was biased or not wasn't of consequence). In that line of thought, she had instantly diverted her line of action to listen to Roland's words almost subconsciously; as if it were all a second nature for her. "Got it!" she replied as Noah vanished from sight. While she was curious and surprise by what had happened, she had seen it a few times during her dungeon-crawling expeditions to be somewhat expectant that someone or the other would disappear and come back at a later interval (hopefully, anyways). That was how she had met Roland after her partners (whose name slips from her now) had disconnected and were replaced with two strangers.

She shook her head. She was getting out of focus and her thoughts were completely off-course as to what they were attempting to do now. Destroy the slimes. Easier said than done but it was a goal to strive for nonetheless.

She channeled magic through her body, feeling it linger on her fingertips. A light purple-grey smoke filtered out the corner of her lips, extinguishing bits of poison which had been sloshing through her veins. And, as the deathly substance left her, she began to cast her magic in earnest, readying to attack the black-colored creatures. "Fight me!" she challenged her supposedly non-sentient enemies.

  22. Roland growled as he swiveled his head looking for extra support. He still could not see Noah anywhere, and it seemed Alpha was busy casting some sort of spell which he prayed was offensive. "I hope to god she isn't doing as stupid as removing a status effect right now." Not knowing magic, he wouldn't know better. Really it didn't matter, they needed to simply deal with these creatures and back off and regroup at this point. Luckily it seemed the remaining beasts seemed to be on their last leg

Focusing on the slime in front of him Roland slightly regretted not bringing any offensive potions with him. A simple fire bomb elixir should be enough to take out the monster, but alas he was working with the limited options of simply using his blades. With a grit of his teeth, Roland slashed his sword in a lopsided arc, aiming at the center of the slime, hoping to separate the creature with one fell swoop.

Alpha flinched as poison had, once again, found itself at home in her body. She groaned. "Seriously?! This is like the tenth time I got poisoned!" she cried. A frustrated bite of the lip later and she immediately started to to generate magic through her body, briskly making her way to Roland as the man cleaved through one of the slimes. She wondered how many more slashes would it take for the viscous things to just stay down.

"Okay, Rudolf! First you, then her, and then me?" she mused as she quickly maneuvered her way through the battlefield, earning a few vicious injuries while she did so, and tagged both the armored lady and Roland. She breathed and life energy began to do its effect once again, rejuvenating the three slightly. She winced as a sudden stab of pain came from her abdomen; a wound. "Why world?!"

  29. Roland began to, at long last, exert some form of authority as the party leader by giving a countermanding order to the child to undo the Admiral's advice. It seemed as though they were ever at odds and butting heads, but if it took wanting to slam her down in order to make him stand up, so be it. She would just have to goad the man into action if that was what it took. She resisted the onslaught of the slimes as he ordered his street urchin tag along to fight the slimes with her magic, which was exactly what didn't occur despite Alphabet agreeing to follow his orders over the Admiral's. So what had happened? She didn't feel healed, or notice anything attacking the monsters. That meant she'd done something other than what either of them wanted.

Note to self: never work with children again.

Roland seemed to notice the lack of order following as well, muttering to himself as he slashed his way through the second of the slimes, leaving only one remaining. She turned to it and splattered it beneath the crushing blows of her hammers, then turned to see the worms which... were still alive and writhing towards them. Where was Noah, and why hadn't he finished them off? He was more than capable, and yet like Jack before him, the man seemed to have just run off or logged out while they weren't looking.

"Roland, finish those off," she ordered as she gestured with her hammer. He had been fighting them originally and was much closer than she was, so it made sense for him to do so. The kid began to complain about being poisoned. Again? Then that meant she'd probably been healing her poisoning instead of throwing some healing or offensive magic into the fight when they needed either the most...
"Heal Roland," she announced dryly to the child, hoping she'd at least have an interest in keeping her chummy companion on his feet.

  32. Roland felt a small tickle on his lower back as Alpha finally managed to do something productive. Of course the effect was rather underwhelming considering how much damage the swordsman had sustained during the fight. At least Admiral was being useful, finishing off one of the more annoying slimes before them. Without missing a beat, Roland turned to the worm once more, slicing his sword in a lopsided arc aimed at the center of the monster.

The creature hissed in agony as it fell in two, Roland noted he didn't feel much better. "Ok, I think its time we head back to that check point... Let's regroup and resupply." he said with a grimace, clearly unhappy with how the fight had proceeded. If they were going to come back into the area, they'd clearly need a better battle plan.

  35. The slimes and the worms were dealt with, leaving the entire rest of the sewer system to navigate ahead of them. Setting her hammers away, the Admiral began to take a few steps forwards, only to halt when Roland sounded the clarion of victory and recommended a full retreat to the surface. A glance at her teammates told her that they had taken something of a beating, but it was nothing they couldn't quickly repair with a few heals and a moment of rest. Still, Roland would do what Roland wanted and the kid would follow where he tread. That meant that she was alone to her own devices from this point forwards, and at half her strength.

"Huh... Jack, Noah... Roland. Seems that the men of Yulan have a habit of disappearing in these sewers," she chided as she glanced around, gesturing at the lack of Noah's presence.
"It sounds like it's women's work to get this done, maybe. You're welcome to tag along if you want to runt," she said as she glanced in Alphabet's direction. "But I've got no intention of turning tail now. Though if you do decide to sulk off with Mr. Malt Liquor here, at least throw one more heal my way. And then good luck with whatever equally dysfunctional group you want to get together to come back down here after I've cleared it." Turning back towards the depths of the sewers, the Admiral continued, glancing at her health HUD to see if any aid were thrown her way. If not, then she'd learn a lot about the kid's character: namely, if a grudge made her likely to allow another person to die when she could have done -something- to help. But then, Yulan was full of winners, wasn't it?
