  2. Alpha was sure if she was developing a fever or something. Her head was burning hot and her cheeks were painted a scathing red that she could feel throb and blister as her heart made a beat beat beat. "Oh, uh, I don't know much about the big guy but he leads my guild and I see him sometimes in our guild chat—err, I mean...carrier pigeons?" her head was wrapped up and distracted in unrelated thoughts but she at least knew that she shouldn't talk about game functions to people who wouldn't believe talks about, well, reality. She paused for a moment before Narth once again addressed her.

"Alphabet Chocolate!" she shouted before looking down in embarrassment at her outburst. She shook her head. This isn't you, Alpha. Keep calm. Be cool. Everything's okay.

Taking a deep breath to calm herself and palming the Mist Wolf Fragment in her satchel, she once again faced Narth with a bright smile. She stumbled to take a seat opposite of Roland's own, listening to her partner's words avidly. "Yeah!" she nodded in agreement to the purple-haired man's words. "Like, it'll be awesome to make some new friends and then we can throw parties and stuff and everything! Oooh, we could have a PARTY and Lady Verm...Vermillon...Vermillion! Yeah, she can join too and we could talk about ETERNAL FRIENDSHIP!" she cheered.

"Yes, the arachnoid menace was something that was caused by undisciplined use of blood magics. The creature was said to be a royal to the creatures. To slay one and then become a royal oneself. A poetic tale it could one day be indeed. Perhaps already. Many bards are speaking of you and your king. People are tiring of the day to day rule of King Theodore, and it's no surprise that your uprising was a breath of fresh air for the people here."

Finally Narth found himself seated into what was supposed to be a guestroom. It was undamaged compared to the rest of the castle. Narth waited and allowed his hosts to offer him something to eat or drink, he would politely refuse those offers. He sat for a moment and watched Roland and his young cohort sitting nearby. Roland across and Alphabet to Narth's right. The munching of so many salted crackers began as Roland went about questioning him. Narth, ever the gentleman, would listen and then respond. His purpose, or at least one of his purposes, for being here finally being reached. Roland spoke about their poor situation as a nation just starting out, and asked what Narth's Lady may want. That was a amusing question to say the least. It would be best to just translate it into their way of thinking.

"It is good that we are on the same page. Lady Vermillion sent me here shortly after the Necronomicon was awakened in this land. Great and sudden bursts of magical power are things the Lady is sensitive too. It is believed that the one who brought it from it's slumber was someone who works for your King?"

Narth folded one of his legs and rested himself casually. His arm laying on the chair arm as he continued on.

"The event itself is not something she blames you for. It actually was a pleasing discovery for her. Between the hemomancers, the necronomicon and war. You all have been busy. It is almost as if you seek out drama."

The man smiled a little before suddenly grimacing. As if he felt a strong pain. He clenched his hand on the arm of the chair for a moment. Gritting his teeth without opening his mouth. The look passed and he returned to be relaxed again. He continued undeterred.

"Forgive me, I seem to have a small condition. It's nothing to concern yourself with. ....Now then. The Lady Vermillion possesses a never ending hunger to meet special or otherwise gifted people. She seeks only to open up the possibility of relations with you. The Scarlet Manor is a place that aligns itself with only chosen groups throughout the world that have proven worthy of attention. The Lady does encounter those that are more hostile to her offers of friendship. They do not seem to last very long out there in the jungles of life. However with you all already seeking to establish yourselves and form friendships. It will be a simple task to avoid hostilities in the future. That just leaves one thing...."

The man looked to Alphabet and smiled.

"You all must send someone of yours to the manor. The Lady would show you the best of her hospitality, and you would be able to reach the forming of this new pact without much delay. Unfortunately she has a extraordinary distaste for the male persuasion, equally those of excessive age. It would only go badly if one were to be the diplomat. I myself am only a temporary employ. By the luck of the Elysid themselves you have the perfect messenger however."

He gestured to Alphabet and spoke directly to her.

"How does that sound my little lady? A chance to form that eternal friendship? Surely it would be a adventure for you? The Lady Vermillion has many delicacies to wet your palate as well."

He looked back to Roland and his smile faded but only a little.

"Of course, she will be expected to go alone. As I was also only invited by being alone. Does this proposition work for you and your King? I am willing to wait up to 24 hours for a response, but then I am afraid I must be going either alone or with her."

Narth now sat silently and awaited a reply.

    OOC:

    @Roland Rutledge @Alphabet Chocolate
If he chooses to continue: @Rory Ulric
There is no 24 hour time limit yet OOC, it is just IC.

  4. Alpha's eyebrows furrowed at the mention of the Necronomicon. That sounded a bit familiar but she couldn't quite place where she had recognized it from. She shrugged. If that was something so important that Narth had stressed its significance, then she guessed that she would've remembered it if she had seen whatever it was. And then, before she could respond to the man's other words, she cringed as she watched him go through a sudden burst of pain. It was sudden and unanticipated, taking Alpha off guard and leading to her stumbling out of her seat and plopping straight onto the ground, her stool landing right below her legs. She breathed but, instead of tending to herself, she quickly glanced over and got up, dusting the dust off her clothes, and checked on Narth with anxious eyes. "You okay?" she asked, a bit shaken from the abruptness of it all.

Alpha was somewhat reassured, but not by much, when the man gave some placating words. It was enough to ease her restless nerves at the very least. "Ha...it'll be really nice to meet her! Right, Roland?" she breathed, leaning against the door in an exaggerated pose that reeked out what could only be the definition of 'cool' for a young girl who had seen nothing but teenage delinquents on motorbikes wearing leather jackets and fostering messy haircuts and mullets (which, surprisingly in the 2030's, made a huge comeback around the cul-de-sac she lived in). "She sounds super cool! Like one of those ladies back at home who would give out candy and buy toys for everyone on the block and would take care of all the little kids and let us jump on the bed if we didn't tell our parents!" she described vividly, a goofy smile placing itself as she went down nostalgic and sweet memories of early childhood. She may not have been of a similar age as these two but she still had her moments of wistfulness upon remembering the days where she didn't even know what the 'birds and the bees' even meant. She shuddered. That was a disgusting thought to think about right after she was reminiscing about good times.

Either way, Alpha shook herself out of these thoughts as she waited eagerly for Narth to explore more on that 'one more thing' he had mentioned. She was practically hovering on the balls of her feet, her buck teeth (barely noticeable but still there) nibbling on her lower lip, and fists clenched and moving vigorously in excitement. This was almost as cool as finally getting to eat all her Halloween candy after a long day of trick-or-treating or, just maybe, the opening of what seemed to be a hundred Christmas presents a few years before. And then her jaw dropped.

    She squealed.

Yes, let it be known that she didn't complain to being around this particular man's presence for long. In fact, she enjoyed it immensely and cherished every longing look she sent at the man's beautifully sculpted face and perfect mannerisms that reminded her of a classical prince in fairy tales. No, she didn't love him in the way adults did right before they made babies. It was a much purer thing; the love of one who had found someone to idolize and someone they just found plain awesome (to speak simply). And that thought blinded her to all fears and worries that came about with traveling alone and she tossed a pair of puppy-dog eyes at Roland whilst pouting in her most adorable display (and gosh did she know it and play it up to eleven).

Before a second even passed after she sent that message to Roland, she looked back at Narth with an innocent expression and doe-eyes. "Haha!" she giggled, blushing at the prospect of traveling for a bit with Narth. "I'm kinda fine with it but I just wanna check with everyone else first!"

  5. Roland grimaced as the man wove his tale. It would seem gaining an ally wouldn't be as easy as he had hoped. It made sense that the lady in question wouldn't have come all the way out here on her own, but why not at least send someone with enough authority to begin negotiations. That said he would have been fine heading to this destination alone, as dangerous as it might be. However, it seemed his gender and age were not deemed suitable for this. “This must be some ploy to kidnap children…” Roland thought suddenly bored by the handsome man for wasting his time. “I’m afraid that’s not something we can agree to-“As Roland began to speak Alpha shot him the most adorable puppy dog eyes, practically begging him to let her go alone. Roland let out a sigh preparing to talk her out of the nonsense when an idea suddenly struck him. “Ahem,” Roland said clearing his throat, “It is not something we can agree too unless you relent and allow us to send one more. I promise you, your lady’s taste in diplomats will be taken into account, and that I will personally choose someone who fits much of the visible appeal my young friend does besides me.” With a broad smile, Roland stood up, “Please consider it deeply mister Narth, if you decide it is too risky I understand, but likewise we cannot permit Alpha to travel alone. Please have your fill, and rest for how long you must. I will have Alpha’s possible traveling companion meet you at your carriage if you find it at all amendable.” With that Roland politely extended his hand to Narth in an attempt to shake the man’s hand before quietly exiting the room.

Once outside the confines of the sitting room, Roland hurried back to his own eye’s peeled for a servant as he did so. Luckily he found one, “You there.” He commanded in an authoritative tone, “Per an unusual request from our guests I will need you to deliver a lace dress, one loose and will provide plenty of movement, and will fit a fourteen-year-old girl to my quarters. I’m sure you can understand the need to keep such a request a secret as well.” The maid’s eyes grew large at the command but didn’t offer a word of refusal as she hurried off in the other direction. "Hopefully Alpha can buy me some time..." Roland muttered under his breath as he headed into his chambers. It was a small room with a small bed, table and chair and only a single window facing the courtyard. He wasn't sure who had obtained the larger rooms or how, but he was content with the cramped living space. After all, he never really thought himself one of the higher level members of the guild. Roland shook his head reorganizing his thoughts; he had a task to do. Waving his hand before him, he began to look at the different options he had for alchemy, his plan to make a potion capable of turning himself into a teenaged girl.....

Sometime later.... A newly transformed Roland kicked her way down the street hurrying to the castle's gates. She would have been there several minutes ago if it wasn't so damn hard to run in a dress and heels, she was regretting not asking for boots, but she was simply out of time. Sooner or later he found Narth and Alpha and moved to them in a flurry of red silk. "Helllllloo~," she said, with a flourish of her dress, "I am Rosaline, it is my pleasure. My cousin Roland told me I am to be accompanying you on a trip? I'm very excited." Remembering Alpha's puppy dog eyes from before she tried her best to shoot the man a glance of sadness should he try and turn her down.

[DM NOTE: Roland's potion will have a 4 post duration in the next thread.
Narth had accomplished what he had set out to for this. Although the original idea was to only bring back one but two was fine as well in his opinion. A whole gang would not have been a problem. It would have been interesting to see how his Lady would handle such a 'success' from him. Regardless this may be even better than he thought... The gentleman squinted slightly as he stood up to greet the cousin of Roland.
"Ah you are the definition of grace my dear. Seeing he has not accompanied you. I can only assume that my most generous host may not be returning?"

The man once again kissed the girls hand and then pulled out his pocket watch again. After a quick check, he flipped it closed and made his preparation for departure.

"I will be waiting outside for you both then. Feel free to gather some things for the journey if you'd like. However I really have little time left to continue being such a well received guest here at Dormont. So please try to make haste. You will find House Vermillion to be a true marvel."

He then would help himself out, or allow himself to be escorted out if the offer was made to him. At the entrance he would wait for them and after they also were ready, Narth snapped his finger again... and once again the caravan returned from the forest. Narth gestured towards them as turned towards the two girls.

"We're off go to see the wonderful Wizard." He said with a joyful smile and wink to Alphabet.

Narth would now be the one to play the role of escort. Escorting them to the largest carriage in front and opening the door for them with a bow and gesture.

    "After you."

He then got in as well and the door seemed to shut by itself. The entire caravan then began what would likely be a long journey. Narth said nothing for a while as the caravan went through the vast Astorean and Yladian woodlands. After a long silence he looked at them both, his eyes strangely more intense. He smiled again, still very refined, but something was sly about it. Maybe even a bit mischievous.

"I trust you both would like to reach our destination post haste? I agree whole heartedly."

His eyes flashed a moment and everything grew pitch black. All that could be seen in the blackness for that split second was his eyes. Then light returned and the girls would see that the woods that was once outside of the window had been replaced by a endless warping darkness all around the carriage.

  7. (Oh don't be so dramatic)

Rosaline tightly gripped her dress with white knuckles as the trees around them disappeared. Clearly this isn't what she had expected.
