As Sean dashed through the woods, he suddenly came to a halt. He'd stumbled right into a group of bears, and they weren't happy. Before he could turn around and make a run for it or fight, he was launched into a tree from a wide swipe. "Okay... I probably deserve this," he muttered to himself before a futile attempt to completely stand up. "Burn...!" he shouted, nailing one of the bears with some fire.
It was from seeing the flames that she was able to find her missing swordsman. She knew the bears were going to be keeping an eye on him, and considering he was struggling at least a bit to regain his balance at the base of his catcher, a little alarm was ringing in the elf's head. She didn't wait to shoot another force of light at the bears, aiming towards the groups center in hopes they'd scatter. "Sean, you okay?!"
"Yep... I'm fine... Just got a bit taken off guard," Sean replied, shakily getting up and taking out his sword. "Now where's the one..." He started checking the bears to see which of them hit him. "There it is!" He suddenly shouted, dashing towards one of them and stabbing them in the back. After a short attempt, he called to Solaria. "I sorta can't get my sword out of its back... A little help?"
Seeing the blade stuck in a bear's back, Solaria leaped onto it's shoulders, using a different angle to help pull the blade out. When it didn't quite want to budge, she used her katana to slice around it a bit, making it easier to escape its constraints. "Can't say I've seen that happen before. I'll have to keep this moment in mind when we work on certain forms of trauma care in class." Giggling slightly despite their current situation, she hopped off the back she'd landed on and found herself not-so-gracefully finding her feet on the ground just behind Sean, back to back, a bit of tension in her knees. "We can't make a cyclone, but we can keep them at bay from either side this way, I bet!"
"You say we can't make a cyclone. Just watch!" Sean chirped, stepping ahead a small bit and starting to spin around with his sword extended. As he twirled, he slowly increased his speed. "Send some of your magic into my sword!" He yelled. "Before I fall over! If you throw your magic onto my sword, I might be able to redirect it while spinning so we can create a large circle of your magic instead of a concentrated blast!"
She was about to confirm understanding, but honestly, how was she supposed to aim at his sword during his movements? Sure, it was like hitting a moving target, but she wasn't used to targeting a specific point of someone...And this clearly wasn't a 'channeling' concept. His idea involved actually using her magic as an attack, didn't it?! "I may regret this later," she mumbled, but it didn't take long for her to aim a shot of light at the sword. Her prayers that it would hit only the blade flew with the glimmer of magic as it flew in his direction. If she was going to regret it, that'd be for later. The plan was all they had right now, and any plan was better than her usual lack of one!
As Sean spun around, he noticed he was about to miss the light magic, so he slowed down his spin a bit. Upon slowing down, the light magic hit the middle of the blade of his sword. He suddenly sped up his spin into a giant slash, a wide beam of light magic forming around about 80 degrees of his body and pulsing outwards. "Hey, it worked... But it didn't seem very effective," Sean chirped. The bears had been barely stunned by the wave of magic, but they were stunned. "Quickly, let's get out of here! Where do we go?"
"This time, follow me!" She wanted to talk out their strange maneuver a bit more, but there was little time to lose. She rushed towards one of the villages she knew of, though it'd be quite a while to actually get there. When they were at least close to some outskirts of a town, she stopped her run, exhaustion at her feet. "Man, that was a workout."
Keeping up with Solaria, Sean almost tripped over when she suddenly stopped. "It was definitely a workout..." He started to catch his breath. "You know... I never really think through half of my strategies. I sorta just make them on a whim based on our situation. When your magic hit my sword, I thought it was just gonna break it. Glad that didn't happen..." He started to look around. "What do you recommend we do once we get to a town?"
Laughing a bit, she pat the man's back. "Well, if it helps, I rarely have much of a strategy either. I'm more of a 'act first, ask questions later'. I mean, we're in a game, so why worry? Though I've already died once, and I'll tell ya, it hurts like hell if you keep the sensory replication on full..." Her body shivered slightly as she remembered her first (and hopefully permanent only) death in a dark tunnel. It was a painful memory, and her eyes watered jut from mentioning it had ever happened. "on the bright side...That time, I died protecting someone, though I could only save one of my entire party...But that's a story for another time. Or never. We'll see." Her anxiety lead to more laughter- trying to be cheerful was always a good method to enjoy a game, after all, and focusing on such dark moments would harm her heart if she let them. "Well, why don't we look for a tavern to rest in for a bit? We can get a bite to eat while we're there and chat for a while. After a good workout, a break with nutrition and liquid is vital!"
"Yeah, I guess taking care of your body is necessary... Excuse me for a second," Sean exclaimed, stepping behind a tree. So, how much damage did I take from that encounter... Okay, I almost died. I should get some healing, he thought, checking his HP, which was almost to 0. "Okay, I'm done!" Sean called out, closing his menus and walking back out. "So let's get to that town, kay?" He tried his hardest to hide the fact that he was close to death, as to not worry Solaria.
That he'd run to hide had hit her mind as odd quite easily. While he was behind the tree, she opted to take a peak at him with investigation just to pry into why he'd feel a need to hide from her...and wanted to yell at him almost instantly. When he returned to her side, he lightly hit hi head with her fist- her fist that already had been imbued with magic to heal him, albeit a bit painfully. "When travelling with a nurse, you're supposed to tell them when you're not feeling a hundred percent, let alone being near one."
"Hey, isn't it rude to peek on people?" Sean exclaimed arrogantly, stumbling a tiny bit from the hit, yet keeping his balance. "Also, I didn't want to worry you..." Sean looked around. "Say, when we get to the town, can we check out some shops?" His mind started to wander. "I wonder if they have soda in this world... Probably not." Noticing he started to get off-topic, he shook his hear. "Anyways, we should get going before we're ambushed."
A pout took her lips as she gave a lighter thwap than before, wanting to get a message through that just words didn't feel would do justice. "I was checking your health to see why you were hiding. It's not like I was looking at you change your clothes...And it's my JOB to worry! I'm a nurse in training- a healer! If I don't worry about you, I'm doing my job all wrong!" With a sigh, she followed his wandering mind and began to wander a bit closer to town once more. "Sure, we can look around. I haven't tried to find soda, actually...I know there's all sorts of stuff in this world though, so it's possible. I mean, it might not be soda, since carbonation might be rough, but...There's all sorts of juice and tea and stuff, I bet. A drink certainly wouldn't hurt."
"I guess you're right... Hmm..." Sean started to ponder something out loud. "If you're going that way, there's a town that way!" He shouted randomly. "I'll meet you at the entrance!" He exclaimed, running ahead of Solaria in the direction of the town.
