How had the man just getting over a brutal battle escape her so quickly? This was truly unusual to the elf, who picked up her skirts and began to rush after him. At the entrance of town, she groaned, grabbing at his wrist- gently, but firm. "What did I say about running off without me?"
"Well, if you're headed to civilization, I just have to go in the direction you go in and I'll reach it, too," Sean explained with a bored look on his face. "Let's go inside!" He suddenly perked back up, scanning around for stores.
Internally wondering just how old this person really was she'd opted to travel with, a smile found her face easily. In a way, she felt like she was dealing with her younger brother. Thinking that way helped make her less irritable- and it wasn't like she had a right to be mad when she was often like he was, right? "Choose a shop, any shop! Though preferably one with something to drink."
"I guess it'd be nice to get a drink before we go shopping..." Sean checked around a bit longer before seeing a cafe. "Hey, why don't we go to that cafe?" He inquired, pointing at the building he had just noticed.
Nodding, she looked towards the quaint establishment he'd pointed out to her. "Seems like a good place to rest. Why don't you tell me a bit about what you're hoping to find in the shops afterwards? Seems like you're eager to find something. What is it?" Without waiting for an answer, Solaria lead the way towards the small cafe, taking a spot in one of the open tables to set them up for a milder conversation. Resting her back against the chair, she pondered. "This village is one of the smaller ones in the area. It's hard to say if they'll have what you need. The villages are often more...Restricted in what they have, after all."
"So I want to get a new sword," Sean explained as they walked to the cafe. "More specifically, I want a shortsword." His mind paused for a moment. "What's a good weapon for beginners to get?" He inquired, almost tripping on himself but catching his balance.
Giggling as he tripped on his own feet, she ruffled his hair a bit to tease him, grin unwavering. "Something light is usually the best way to go when you start out, so that the weight of the weapon doesn't cause drag for when you're working on your skills. In kendo, you always train using a wooden sword, for example, because it's light and you can't actually hurt yourself or someone else as badly, but it still has impact" Finger at her lip, she looked in her menus mentally before continuing with an extra fact. "But the main thing to keep in mind is your actual mastery level. If you look at your profile, it'll tell you if your skill is considered 'beginner', 'novice', 'trained', and so on. Each level has a color based on it. If you use that as a guide, you can look at the weapon's information you're thinking of purchasing, and know if you can actually use it. If it's a dark blue and you have trained that's dark blue on your profile, you can use it. If you're a beginner, you can't. You can use weaker weapons as you get stronger, but not vice versa, so always keep that in mind!"
"Got it!" Sean replied, looking at his own menu. "Hmm... So many options..." He thought out loud. "Shouldn't get alcohol if it's on here..." He looked slightly to the right and paused. "I'm getting regular coffee," he exclaimed. "Nothing else seems too appealing."
"Well, I agree you shouldn't be getting alcohol since it's unhealthy if you're not careful, but...What's your reasoning, if I may ask? Since you seemed very uneasy making that decision." After all, if he was anything like her, sideways glances meant anxiety, didn't they? "I think I'll have some cafe au lait. I'm not big on regular coffee, and all these teas look like ones my friend's folks would make...And those are disgusting and useless for pleasure time."
"If you wanna know my reasoning..." Sean closed his eyes and sighed. "I'm not old enough to drink alcohol. I'm only 15." He pushed his hair out of his face. "I guess that may answer some behavioral questions you may have had in the past, as my actions are weird..." He silently chuckled. "But the reason for my behavior is that I have autism and some anger issues, as well as a case of hyperness. My mind likes to think about random things, and I just can never sit still." He made a shuffling motion in his seat.
"It's not a big deal. It's not like I'm not hyper myself. And you're not the only one with anger issues. I mean, my martyr complex became a death affliction! Now THAT'S anger issues!" Laughing a bit, she pat the boy's head again, enjoying fluffing his hair. "I'm only nineteen myself. I'm a nursing school student IRL, and i have a brother who's five. I feel bad having made some comparisons, but I was probably similar four years ago."
"Eh, I'm used to comparisons," Sean said, getting the drinks then sitting back down. "Here you go." He handed Solaria her beverage. "To be honest, if we're talking about comparisons, you should compare me to a certain red-haired swordsman from another game franchise." He spelled out the word "ROY" in the air. "Basically, I look exactly like them." He started to drink his coffee.
"Which game was that from again?" She laughed a bit, scratching the back of her neck. "I haven't been playing many other games lately. I've always been an MMO fan, since I was a preteen, but...I got busier during high school so I could get into my preferred college. I haven't played many games outside MMOs and stuff with my friend. This is the first I've play with out her, actually. What's the game Roy's from like?"
"It's a tactical game from a couple decades ago, where you command a group of mercenaries and go take out an evil country," Sean explained. "You could probably find it if you looked up 'Fire Emblem 6'. He's the main character of that game." Sean finished off his coffee. "That coffee was actually pretty good... So, let's go get some gear." Sean hopped up and walked to the door. "If you want, you can group up with me in the shopping district while I go and get a sword. Or, I could stay and wait...?"
Sipping at her milky drink, she listened to his explanation with care. She'd heard of the series, but never had a chance to play it. Maybe she'd have to go to a game store sometime to find out more? "I'll just go with you. I'm about done anyway. Besides, you wanted help picking, right? I'd like to take a look at some myself. I love my uchigatana, but it's not bad to have an extra blade handy, right?"
