The game everyone's been talking about on boards like Zero Channel, Deep Dive Net and MMOFans is a unique one. No one was entirely sure it was real for awhile: after all, screenshots can be easily doctored and even fake gameplay footage is common in these days. The DVRS, or the Department of Virtual Regulation and Safety's PSA may have been pre-mature. Honestly, it more confirmed that the game, Terra Sphere, was real more than anything, and spread more knowledge about the so-called "Urban Legend Video Game".
For a while, the staff of the Pulse was trying to get ahold of a copy of this game: it's extremely uncommon and only available via invitation. Even if someone wants to buy a copy off of someone who got the email but isn't interested, ebay and similar websites are flooded with SD cards with fake versions of the game. The big feature that the Terra Sphere touts is Deep Dive technology. Deep Dive hasn't been utilized legally since the Sword Art Online incident, and it seems like Terra Sphere may be open to a larger audience than even that game.
I had my first taste of the game this week and Deep Dive is no joke. For years, I had read rumors and thoughts about the technology; I even had an interview with a Sword Art Online survivor about the incident. I had tried to get in contact with the survivor about this new game, and it turns out he had had a taste of what Terra Sphere had to offer and this is what he had to say...
"Terra Sphere blows Sword Art Online out of the water, honestly. Whoever's making this knew exactly where to make changes and may have even been a player! The detail is sharper and the reality is more convincing than before, and I can't wait to get back to it!"
Nobody seems to know who's making this, but speaking as someone who's been playing every waking moment for the last few days, it has to be a big team. This is triple A quality, something no single person can make without spending their entire life on it. Whether there'll be a legal version of the game out is unlikely, but perhaps that's the Terra Sphere's greatest asset. It's the greatest video game urban legend that could never be true, yet it is.
We'll be posting more about Terra Sphere over the coming weeks, stay tuned for more coverage in regard to that.
