Blank stared at the ceiling above her with a thousand yard stare. Ever since her encounter with the Goblin, and subsequent rescruection she had felt a twisted combination of anxiety, and listlessness. The battle itself was still a fog in blank's mind, but she could still feel the odd numbness of losing her nose and teeth. The feeling prevailed her every thought until she either stared into a mirror, or moved her hand to feel that the features were still there and intact. Eventually Magi had stopped by, giving her an odd half organic, half clockwork beating heart. She said it was Blank's reward for the battle, and summarized the rest of the encounter for her. Blank listened half interested in hearing what had happened, instead her gaze was glued to the artifact in her hand. It remained motionless in her hand, but she could feel the nodes of magic, stretching, searching for a source of magic. A wiggle of her finger sent it the breath it needed to come back alive, beating, once, twice, three times, before becoming dormant once again. "Odd..." she decided before putting it away, and returning to bed.
During her sleep, her dreams were plagued with images of the device, simultaneously haunting her, and goading her for more power. Eventually, it forced her from her bed, and into the library heart in hand. Burying her nose in ancient texts, she sought out an explanation for its purpose. While she was unable to determine the reason for it to be designed as a heart, but she did discover the use of its nodes. It was designed to attach to a magical tool or weapon, upon which it would draw the user's magic, or willpower respectively. A secondary node on the device would return the energy spent back to the user, allowing them to increase a spell or attack in an instant. To put it simply it seemed dangerous, there were limits to most things for reasons, this item would suprass them ignoring any cost to do so. Blank wasn't sure why at the time but the thought of doing so brought a smile upon her face.
Several days later she had recieved a message from Vermilion. It seemed her along that annoying cat Celes, and equally annoying Alphabet, were going to be tasked with the aggravating Trizz to find yet another fragment of chaos. They would be headed to the dungeon she had explored with Magi long ago. A wave of fear breifly past over her as she remebered the events that had occured. For some reason the rose's power did not activate, but the fear was crushed on its own without the help of the void. Something new had awakened within her as a cruel smile worked its way across her lips
Blank walked silently into the dungeon room after the overwatcher had gone through the effort of taking them there. It had been some time since she had last been here, and the memories of her previous encounter played like a film reel in her head as the others chatted. Magi and she had first met in this dungeon; it was here that they had shared a couple of victories snatched from the jaws of defeat until that monster had appeared. What had it been anyway? Her head hurt, and the image was foggy, but eventually, it came to her. She remembered a misshapen creature with three heads each of a different type. A goat, a lizard, and a lion. "A Chimera..." Blank said in response to Overwatcher's comments, "We handled the elementals, and the Kraken. It was the Chimera's appearance that stopped our progress, that's likely what lies at the end."
Things had changed since then though. Blank had truly gone through quite a few ordeals since the event, and in turn, she had grown even stronger, replacing her rags with actual magical garb. Even the once makeshift staff she had carried had been replaced by an ebony wood enchanted staff, the tip of which had been augmented by that pulsating clockwork heart the color of flesh. These changes were superficial compared to the ones that occurred within her though. She'd become stronger, more courageous, more prepared.
Blanks hands trembled on her staff in excitement
She'd wipe the floor with this dungeon, and make its inhabitants suffer for the humiliation it had put her and Magi through.
Blank shot an icy gaze at Triz before walking forward; her steps hurried by the words of Alpha. She didn't need to waste any time preparing for the fight that was to come; she had been preparing for months. A blue aura began to form around her, one that chilled the very air, sending small particles of ice flying aimlessly about her. "It's time to get frosty," she said with a visiocus grin.
