Lucia couldn't help a shy chuckle, even going so far as to avert her eyes at the girl's misunderstanding. Though glad to have Dempsey's shirt, she folded it attentively before laying it down with a soft breath of a sigh. Shaking her head, Lucia couldn't help a gentle fidget, growing a bit more cute as she flashed a toothy grin. "Not friends... no. More then that; Lovers, but not just physically. Genuine love... Real love." Her voice grew quieter, softer as she grew more invested in the sweetness she felt in her heart. Glancing back at Dempsey she batted long eyelashes at her, blinking in thought before her smile widened further. "Though, a Story book love probably doesn't suit me does it? Particularly not in such a strange and bountiful way. People are already lucky to find love alone yet here I ask for more." Her words came out slower, she reached out towards Dempsey's waist, not pulling her pants down, but instead tugging her closer by her waist band to try and bring the girl down to her level to sit with her. "I'd be happy to have you with me though, even if it was in a hole, or in a tent, or outside, I think I would be okay if you were there for me." She spoke softly, reassuringly as if Dempsey were a white knight she could count on in her hour of need. "After all, it would be easier to haul fire wood if there were more of us... right?" She asked, her voice a hushed whisper towards the end.
Dempsey was a bit taken back by her statement, but did her best to hide it on her face. She sat with Lucia and leaned back against her, digesting her words, and trying to sort out how she felt about it all. on one hand, she understood to well the craving for companionship, but she struggled with the idea of such an unorthodox situation. On one hand, the part of her that was calculating and emotionless saw this as an ideal situation. Cheap living situation, readily accessible human resources, and being constantly surrounded by like-minded women. Another part of her struggled with the emotional aspect of it. Dempsey desperately craved affection, but she didn't know if she was emotionally prepared for something as intense as sharing a lover with other women. She sat silently, contemplating for a moment, until her hand rose and guided Lucias hand to her head, urging her to scratch and play with her hair while she thought this through. Something occurred to her though that set her mind in stone right then and there. She never put too much stock in the more philosophical aspects of her martial arts training, but something suddenly rung true. She was taught that in order to reach the highest magnitude of her potential as a martial artist, she must adopt a state of mind free from physical wants and material desires. She couldn't remember exactly how her instructor put it, but until she freed herself from all negative emotions, she would never be able to tap into the mysterious life force simply known as Qi. She may not be excited about the situation in the short term, but she had to admit that such an environment would be beneficial in the short term and the long term. For starters, she would have a roof over her head, and a wonderful companion to share her life with, and through being tested daily, she would quickly learn how to quell the negative though and emotions that restrained the power she knew she possessed. She let out a trembling sigh and remarked "If that is what you want, i'm willing to try. It will be hard for me, but I'm willing to try to accept that that's what you need in order to be happy. I'll be jealous and probably a little possessive at first, but learning to separate those emotions from my true self is part of my training, and once I've learned how, I can truly be happy with you, the way you want us to be happy together. that is enough for me, for now. "
Lucia couldn't help being amused by Dempsey's worries, not because she was belittling them, no, it was for a different reason. She thought that Dempsey might not understand the reality of what Lucia idealized as she agreed to try. It made Lucia's smile grow faint, gentle, fleeting as if it might fade from a strong wind as she began to stroke Dempsey's hair and scratch her ears as she wanted. With a soft tone, she spoke in a tone that was very low and gentle. "Jealous is fine... Possessive is fine too, after all, aren't we all that way? I don't think you should separate from them though." Lucia offered her opinion with an earnest expression as if she were genuinely trying to be helpful in aiding Dempsey adapt to this new concept with an open mind. "Instead, it's important to accept that negativity as an inevitable part of the whole-- Yin and Yang, pushing and pulling-- Good with bad." Lucia tried to expand on a philosophy unaware that she might be totally ignorant and oblivious to it. She merely tried her best to reassure Dempsey, to help her be more open to the possibilities. While she continued to pet and scratch Dempsey's hair, she lifted an arm from her waist, after pulling her closer she tried to hug her gently and stroke her back as well. "I'll be there for you-- but not just me. Everyone that comes along with me, everyone that stands by my side will be by your side too-- And each others' sides. There will be times you're jealous, possessive, maybe even affectionate, hopefully even open-hearted. There's no reason we can't all be in this together." She reassured, hoping that that would have some effect on the girl, truly, Lucia felt a pain in her chest the more Dempsey tried to explain her reservations. She certainly didn't want those precious to her to feel pain. Even if i meant she couldn't have their attention... She resolved herself, she would rather be a shadow enjoying the happiness of those people as she had been then drag them along with her forcefully. "Having happiness at the expense of yours would not be happiness after all..." She admitted in a very hushed whisper.
Though on the inside, she was unsure f her own words, she promised to herself that she would at last try. Right now she had to convince Lucia that she was sure of what she was saying, which was harder than she thought it would be, considering the now-obvious hints she'd been dropping all day. Perhaps she was just nervous about the whole situation and possibly even leaving openings for Dempsey to make the suggestion herself. "Lucia I am nothing if not a simple creature, and I know what I want. I understand you feeling like this is something you need to sell me on, and talk me into, but I assure you it's not. Let's just take things one step at a time and see what happens. That's all anyone can really do anyway, right?" She twisted in the other woman's arms just enough, and planted a kiss on her lips. she remained hovering there with their lips almost touching as she whispered "It'll be exciting, and I like things that are exciting. There's nothing more or less to it than that." she returned to her original position and cuddled back against Lucia before she continued "You just caught me off guard is all. I never thought of getting myself into something like that before, and who knows.. Maybe you're right and the whole world is wrong. You never know these things until you find out for yourself, right? " She reached for Lucias hand and toyed with the woman's delicate fingers thoughtfully, waiting for her to digest her words and respond. She hoped her words reached the woman. She was being completely honest in saying that she didn't think the situation was ideal, but at the same time, she didn't want to go the rest of her life wondering "what if"
Lucia couldn't help flashing a reassured smile, glad to hear that Dempsey was such a simple person. Lucia often felt pressure for acceptance, for tolerance, purely because if people didn't agree, there was a chance they would ignore rather then hate outright. Ignoring was such a painful experience, being ignored was the pain Lucia understood the most. She sighed nodding along knowing that it was true, Lucia was only impatient for a variety of reasons. "Alright alright-- I'll stop talking your ear off. After all, I can be possessive too." She added with a coy grin curling towards the end thinking that would be something reassuring for Dempsey as well. Though when the girl kissed her, and even talked about liking things that were exciting, Lucia couldn't help grinning, this was certainly more her own element wasn't it? "Like things that are exciting? Well, I can promise you won't find anything more exciting." She spoke with an unnatural level of confidence. After all, Lucia intended to have attention and fame of the world, of all of Terrasphere eventually. Whether as a hero of villain it didn't matter, for Dempsey who would be by her side during that, what could be more exciting then the rise or fall of a great nation? Not wanting to be outdone, as always, Lucia leaned forward to return Dempsey's kind kiss with something a bit more volatile. Using her teeth she'd try to bite at Dempsey's lower lip, giving it a soft tug to bring her closer before pressing her lips to the other girl's firmly clinging to her fiercely trying to communicate all of the 'unsold' portions of her prepared speech through simple lip contact. Though Lucia wasn't the stronger of the two, it didn't stop her from trying to push the girl down to thoroughly enjoy that kiss. It was only when it broke, that Lucia'd crack a grin once more. If Dempsey tried to retaliate also, Lucia would try to stop her with a soft hushing gesture to prevent the girl from going too far. "We've made a lot of progress today... I'm really glad you found me." She whispered gently, trying to lay down lifting an arm up as if welcoming Dempsey into her embrace. "I'm sure it'll be even more exciting tomorrow." She spoke through a toothy grin.
For the second time today, Dempsey was like putty in Lucias hands, offering only the softest of touches and handling the other woman as if she might break in two under a light breeze as she allowed herself to be guided to the floor. She knew that Lucia was probably tougher than she looked, but she didn't want to plant seeds of fear and doubt in her mind all the same. She knew that a little rough housing was fine from time to time, but she didn't want the unspoken threat of physical force to become a part of the dynamic of their relationship. This, however, did not change the fact that she thought it quite unfair that she was the only one half naked. She thoroughly enjoyed the womans kiss, though. As Lucia bit down on her lip, she inhaled sharply from surprise, then relaxed and closed her eyes, purring loudly and raking her fingers through Lucias thick black hair slowly. After the intimate moment had ended, Dempsey found herself breathing hard, something she'd forgotten to do for the duration, apparently. She was also a bit crestfallen when Lucia implied that this would be the extent of things tonight, but she knew not to push the issue and relented. Lucia was human too, and sooner or later her needs would catch up to her. Until then, it would do no good but to wait patiently and strike when the iron is hot. Dempsey did her best to calm herself, and slow her racing heart. She assumed the little spoon position, perhaps with one more wiggle of her shapely behind against Lucias pelvis than was absolutely necessary. Her tail threaded between the womans leg and wrapped around her thigh once. She squirmed once more, then took Lucias hand and wrapped her arm around her own body, planting her hand squarely on her own well defined midriff. "I'm glad I found you too. I can't promise that this will be all sunshine and rainbows, but It feels good to have a purpose besides something as simple as being a part of the rat race to the top. I'm still going to do my best, of course, but knowing that moments like these are waiting for me at home is probably going to keep me at home a lot more often than it should." She would wink, but given their position the gesture would be lost. She hoped that the inflection in her voice was enough to convey the semi-flirtatious nature of her statement though. She shifted slightly again and continued "I've decided to start studying Alchemy, and had planned on taking a trip around the province that might take a few days. I can always do that later though... I just wanted to say something now so you didn't think it was something you did when I left. of course,"She paused here to yawn, then continued. "Of course you're more than welcome to come with me but it will be terribly boring for you i'm afraid. I'll run into a monster here and there maybe, but mostly I'm just going to be shopping for books and equipment, and looking at plants." She trailed off and began to purr. The days event combined with the comfort of being held and the gentle sway of the tree tent worked like magic, and the Felis girl was soon fast asleep, purring well into the night, save for the occasional ear twitch or leg spasm.
