Biography
Taemin lived in korea for a short time before his parents divorced and he and his mother moved back to the states. Unfortunately, the divorce was pretty ugly, neither of his parents speak to each other and his mother has nothing nice to say about his father’s family. In fact, he learned relatively quickly not to ask questions about that side. Out of both fear and respect for his mother, Taemin never tried to contact his paternal family.
Truth be told, other than the rift between families, taemin had a normal childhood. He moved to america when he was five and spent the first few dealing with a new home, new language, new everything. He was so excited about everything being new, that any time a classmate would try to bully or tease him he blew them away with his excitement and how honestly he wore his emotions. This changed later in life, but it’s still pretty easy to him. His mother was relieved he had no trouble dealing with a new environment, she maybe vindictive and harsh but she cared deeply for her son. Five years pass and suddenly Taemin is the youngest of three when his mother remarries. By then she had cooled a bit from the divorce, but still never spoke about her first husband and Taemin still never asked. They became a family of five, he and his mother kept their last names. It was always fun to see his teacher’s baffled when meeting the parents.
From then on, Taemin had a little difficulty in life, his older siblings were much better a teasing and bullying than his classmates. So he started to keep his feelings from showing so openly and developed a sarcastic defense mechanism to counter his siblings. He kept the issues and feelings to himself, he didn’t want to ruin his mother’s new happiness, plus wasn’t that how siblings acted. After all, Taemin was invading their home. He knew that their teasing, though sometimes taken too far, wasn’t because they hated him. They showed their love in other ways; and he never hated them. At least he think he didn’t.
High was much like his early school experiences, he didn’t (attempted to not let) people get to him, but quickly took his heart off his sleeve, it gave them too much power over him. Taemin became a bit more closed off, but still kept a large group of friends with one or two he considered exceptionally close. It was them that got him into gaming and mmos. When he wasn’t online with them, he was on the baseball team. He was a kid that couldn’t sit still for too long, too long without something to do and he got antsy. Baseball was one of the few things that brought him and his siblings together, so he cherished it dearly.
It was his friends that sent him the link for TERRASHERE. And the rest is, as they say, history.
