    Amelia Blanc is a kind person at heart. The sort that easily sympathizes. She's not exactly stupid, but she's easily moved by her feelings and makes most of her decisions based on how she feels. Yet, when faced with adversity, she can showcase remarkable tenacity - but that's only when the threat is pointed not at her, but for those she cares about.

    Biography


    Amelia Blanc was born the fourth child of a high ranking nobleman of Orario. She was
    her father's favorite out of all his children, the apple of his eyes and for a time, she lived a happy and simple life. But tragedy struck, her mother died, a disease she contracted from a vacation away from the city being seen as the cause. Ever since, her father had changed, a shadow of the man he used to be. This transformation was far from gradual, but Amelia couldn't stand seeing her father in this sorry state.

    She remembered that back when her mother was alive, her mother would often played the violin for her father and when she did, it made him smile. With that innocent thought and her stubborn love, Amelia picked up the instrument and learned. It wasn't easy, she didn't nearly have as much talent as her mother, but she persevered. She struggled and after a time made a breakthrough, she finally came to her father to show her the fruit of her labor.

    The act touched him, causing him to adore her more, which wouldn't have been a problem, but shortly after he re-married. His new wife hated Amelia, she took every opportunity to torment the girl and when her father met an untimely end, the woman turned on the girl's family.

    One night, without warning, the woman tried and nearly succeeded in murdering the children of her late husband. Her siblings didn't fare well, she'd never really discovered what happened, but she wasn't hopeful. Luck favored Amelia as her nanny saved her at the cost of her own life. She was warned to never return to their home and while she barely understood the reasons why back then, but she would in the future. She adopted the name, Blanc, as a way to keep her real family name hidden.

    • Harmonie [Light, Single-Target/Area of Effect, Enchant + Heal, Extended Chant]: A song that creates a wave of magic that will heal, improve the reaction time (agility) and increase morale in the target(s). The effect does not start out powerful, but rather, is a constant but subtle one who's benefits can be seen during an extended engagement. However over time, the effect it can confer can be dramatic if Amelia does opt to change the song from a soothing one, to a bolder one, but the mind that is required to maintain it will rise in step with the benefits it provides. If there is just a single target, the effect's speed and potency increases considerably. If used outside combat, in a social thread, it is possible to only use the effect that inspires positive feelings in a target - and is far less taxing on mind this way. Naturally the more magic Amelia gains in the future, the more potent this effect can be as mind determines the scope of her power.
    • Swan Song [Light, Single-Target/Area of Effect, Enchant, Extended Chant]: Like it's namesake, the Swan Song is a final performance given just before death or retirement. The phrase refers to an ancient belief that swans sing a beautiful song in the moment just before death, having been silent during most of their lifetime. Therefore this power serves to give the audience, in this case, her allies a dramatic boost in their combat ability (they are able to move faster or demonstrate strength or endurance outside their limits, possibly due to adrenaline and this magic), while the song continues. It will also heal them a modest amount, enough to bring them to their feet and keep them mobile while the song lasts - or until they take an injury that knocks them out or outright kills them. This skill will lead Amelia suffering from the Mind Down status after the song ends. Naturally the more magic Amelia gains in the future, the more potent this effect can be as mind determines the scope of her power.
    Limitation on Musical Magic: Requires a musical instrument to use. In Amelia's case, the initial chant is the opening phases of the song and the magical effect is extended until a song ends. Afterwards, she no longer needs the start-up 'chant', it essentially becomes a toggle-effect. While an efficient kind of magic, Amelia has only so much 'mind' and physical stamina that she cannot play for too long without dealing with fatigue.

    • Father's Violin: A masterpiece violin. It is old, but extremely well maintained Amelia needs this in order to use her magic. She's a prodigy at using this instrument.
    • Plain Violin: An ordinary violin. She takes this one to dungeons as it has no sentimental value. Amelia needs this in order to use her magic. She's a prodigy at using this instrument.
    • Plain Flute: A simple, ordinary flute. Amelia's secondary tool, she's not nearly as good with this as she is the violin, but she's still very good.

Allies touched by this light - if they are within earshot - will feel their wounds healing and feeling positive feelings inspired in them. The effect does not start out powerful, but rather, is a constant but subtle one who's benefits can be seen during an extended engagement. If there is just a single target, the effect's speed and potency increases considerably. If used outside combat, in a social thread, it is possible to only use the effect that inspires positive feelings in a target - and is far less taxing on 'mind' this way.
    • Harmonie [Light, Area of Effect, Enchant, Extended Chant]: An area of effect spell that generates a pleasing sound - if they are within earshot - will feel a statistic rising so long as hey are working in concert with another allied character. The effect does not start out powerful, but rather, is a constant but subtle one who's benefits can be seen during an extended engagement.
