Jayden Heartly Race: Chienthrope Age: 17 Sex: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Relationship: Single Height: 5’9” Build: Feminine | Lean Personality Jayden, preferring ‘Bluejay’ (despite not wearing any blue), is a happy-go-lucky kind of boy, generally branded with a kind smile across his face and a blade in his hand at all times. He has this notion of desiring heroism, but not in the way of wanting to simply ‘being’ one, but rather understanding what makes a hero. Having lived a life of complete averageness, he wants to understand the extremes, and as such has decided that becoming a hero is the only way to know what a hero is like, since all the other heroes of the world aren’t what he expects them to do. Jayden takes down problems like he takes down enemies, with the most straightforward method he can muster. He generally doesn’t let anyone deter him from his goals, as without these goals he would still be just the same boring guy who came to Orario months before. He dresses a bit odd, people often commenting on his horns as some sort of strange deformity, which in reality they are actually an enchanted loot drop that his mother had when she was an Adventurer. One of Jayden’s more enchanting traits is his desire to take enormous risks to achieve the goal he has in mind. He is willing to sacrifice everything for the power to reach his own heights, whether it the clothes off his back, or sword in his hand or the ground beneath his feet. The one thing he will never sacrifice however, is his heart, or in more literal terms, his sane and true emotions. This makes him a desirable companion, but also a terrifying opponent with nothing to lose. Positive: Determined, Optimistic, Ambitious, Cheerful, Proactive Negative: Headstrong, Stubborn, Impulsive, Careless, Risky Biography Jayden in all of his life was considered the average. The half-and-half, the median, the middle line. Never a cut above the rest and never below the belt. He spent a majority of life training with his mother to be an Adventurer when he got older, but she passed when he was still in his adolescent age. Jayden spent the rest of his time training with his father, who was originally his mother’s supporter. He was not nearly as developed in skill or prowess, but he knew far more than Jayden did and that was enough to allow him to reach new ceilings of strength. Most of his life, however, was spent in some kind of lackluster purgatory. Every day and every night was the same to him, waking up, going out to work in the fields and train with his father, eat, sleep, rinse and repeat. He never experienced the weakness and vulnerability of the extremely poor, nor the status and power of the wealthy and adventurous. Jayden has since then spent his time attempting to sate his curiosity by becoming a hero himself. The issue with becoming a hero is that the exemplary ‘heroes’ of this day and age are often tainted with the ideas that greed and women are all that exist within the world, or that justice is the most virtuous path. Jayden has the burning desire to be a hero for the sake of acting as one. Whether this costs him all of his time, energy, blood, sweat and tears, he has come to the conclusione that being anything other than ordinary is a life better sought by him. And thus, Jayden seeks the path of true and unadulterated heroism, not in the way of a moral compass, but in the way of diverging from his current path. A hero for the sake of no longer being the zero. In order to achieve these things, he has spent every day and every night hard at training, whether it be with other Familia willing to train him or the everyday sparring Adventurer looking for a bit of mettle to test themselves to. Jayden has severe anxiety of joining a Familia, fearing they may not support him in his mindless endeavour to achieve something many believe to be significantly childish or impractical. As such, he has left his purpose and desire to become stronger a secret, in hopes of being able to open up to other Adventurers, and eventually a god, one day. Status Familia: Freya Occupation: Adventurer, Gladiator Archetype: Arms Floor Achieved: 1 Current Level: 1 Strength: I - 060 Vitality: I - 060 Dexterity: I - 030 Agility: I - 050 Skill: Breaker Gambit - All or Nothing [Active/Empower] Likely a product of his risk-taking to win it all, is able to consciously sacrifice his other abilities to exponentially increase the ceiling of others. This skill is the crystallization of Jayden’s desire to reach incredible heights in ridiculously short amounts of time. By sacrificing half of three other parameters stat values, he can add double the sum of those points to one other parameter, thus giving him the ability to burst through the ceiling of his capability. This effect can be activated at any point in which Jayden recognizes he is faltering in combat and his opponent is simply better than he is, therefore it is limited to when Jayden is facing a more powerful opponent. Once combat has ended, or Jayden has met a point in which he can no longer sustain the incredible power he obtains through the skill via fatigue or otherwise, the skill will deactivate forcibly and Jayden’s stats will return to normal. Eventide Tempest - Under Red Heaven [Active/Offensive] An attack some might call the “last hope” or final strike, it is Jayden’s trump card. Instead of a heavily charged attack, Jayden may withdraw enough energy instantaneously to send him jetting forward and into the air at the speed of a class 10 gale, often causing him to glow red as heat builds up around his body from sheer friction and display of energy. This burst leap can reach 50 meters, depending on the circumstances. The incredible speed, paired with the inertia and force at which he is moving can send shockwaves through whatever he makes contact with, on top of the actual strike of which he has prepared This attack however, due to not requiring a specific time of charge-up, will promptly send Jayden into Mind Zero (an unconscious state) to compensate after his attack, as well as leave burns and minor cuts from slicing through the air. He can very briefly fend off the fatiguing effects of the skill, but for no longer than roughly twenty seconds at the max. The effects of the skill are most potent during sunset and sunrise, when the skies are dyed a shade of red. Equipment Weapons: Hidden: Smiling Jack Jayden’s sword, red and black in appearance with no particular power behind the blade. Many say it resembles the fang of a beast lost long ago to the passage of time. Armors: Hidden: Glasscade Horns The horns that Jayden wears to cover his ears, originally an enchanted loot drop from his mother. He gained them on his fifth birthday from her, to wear just for fun, though they had lost their enchanted effects once possession of them passed over to Jayden. Hidden: Obsidia Coat A black long coat that Jayden has grown fond of wearing, and while it retains no true protection for him, it keeps him warm and cozy during cold evenings. It also looks extremely stylish, or so Jayden thinks. Don’t tell him you think otherwise.
