They all took the bait. Hook, line and sinker. The gods were all too proud, too naive and too arrogant to dismiss her actions as that of a child having temper tantrums. None of them paused to consider why a goddess of ice who rarely showed such an emotional side would react just because Ouranus didn't get the attention he was calling. Not even one of them seemed to have discovered that it was all a ruse, a plot that Skadi had setup to set the stage to her act. Not even the god of trickery himself, or so she thought. True enough, what Hera did could've started a war, but the Greeks were already too backed up in a corner to even dare start a war. And she knew Odin wasn't stupid to declare the act committed by Hera as drawing blood and a means to declare war. Especially now that the eye of Mimir has been shattered. True, he still had one other eye left to peak at the future, but with one gone, the future wasn't so clear to him anymore. And Odin never entered a war without assurance he would win. Yes, the whole reason why Skadi was doing all of this. To stop the second great god war. And she knew Odin will stop at nothing just so he can gain an upper hand, starting with seizing power in this council of the gods. People had to understand that the Norse Gods are battle hardened gods, they were born through war and all of them had that facet one way or the other. Hell, even the goddess of love had war as part of her domain. And Odin was THE god of war for their pantheon and he did not like losing. So it was inevitable that he would move but Skadi didn't know he would enact all of this, even after the sacred pact which brought peace. But he did, he all but planned this and Skadi overheard him. @Loki was another thing, she was worried of him the most. That somehow he would catch wind of her trickery. Thank heavens that he was distracted. Boy put a skirt on a gaping hole and he was sure to hump it. He just couldn't keep it in his pants. Gathering her wits about her Skadi waited for Ouranus for any changes to the choices. Gods already casted their votes but she was sure that if ever the greeks were given the light treatment, the other faction would push for war games. She waited just in case he changes something.
Dungeon Master As the drama unfolded, the God of the Sky could be seen slumping further and further into his seat as he held his face with his wrinkled, bony hand in a futile attempt to hold back the oncoming headache. All of his effort to preserve peace among the gods, keeping them in line, was for naught—everything was falling apart. Although his granddaughter has been known for her temper, it was provoked by the Norse giantess who inspired fear and distrust among all the gods. The act also completely discredited Odin and drew his anger, which resulted in him withdrawing his support for the Deitic Council, and with it… the security the Valkyries provided. Now all that remain is a mere handful and Astrid… Something needed to be done, Ouranos has no power but his authority as the god who forfeited all of his power and amusement to keep this ruse running for as long as he could, until one day, a god will completely plunge the world in chaos and destroy everything. Standing up from his chair, Ouranos took a deep breath before he spoke calmly in a divine voice, which was deep and omnipotent enough that it would have garnered the attention of every god in his presence. “Do you not understand why I, one of the first divines to descend from heaven, revoked my right to host a familia and directly involve myself in the lives of mortals? It was to keep you fools from undoing yourself and this fragile realm inhabited by creatures that die with so much as a breath we take. The only way for me to do such is to become a completely neutral force that enforces laws and keep peace. Yet you come INTO MY HOUSE and flaunt your destructive powers that led to a treacherous act that harmed and humiliated ONE OF MY GUESTS. You have ALL failed and lost your right to vote on the matter. I alone will decide the fate of Zeus. Not a single one of you are responsible enough to control your fate and the fate of this realm.” “Furthermore, I hereby decree that from next week onward, every god must come to me with a catalyst that you must carry on your body at all time. With my seal, breaking this object allows you to access all of your godly power; however, doing such when no danger is posed is grounds for your immediate banishment. All that is left for you is what little talent or magic that carry over without your divine power. I will not hear any more on this matter. All of you are now banished from this Hall until you prove worthy to stand in the presence of me and others who have earned their place in this sacred hall. Now that one of the top seat is empty, may you fight for it.” “May the weak and pathetic gods who are unable to develop their familia toil in poverty and inability to change the course of the world. May those nobles and royals spit on your powerlessness and take back what power they give you, thinking they could stand to benefit from it. You are no longer the divine beings you think you are the moment you made your descent. Go back to heaven if you are too incompetent for the work of this world… you have no one to blame but your slothfulness. The meeting is adjourned—GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!!!” Anyone who has yet to leave may write an exit post. This IC event has changed the rules of Gods. We will be changing certain thing in the application in the week to come and update the wiki to reflect Ouranos ruling.
The shouting of Khaos's grandson was obnoxious to say the least. What a total loser. Of course she did expect this when she came to Earth. It was one of the challenges that would make her game so much more fun to play out this time. She decided to let him enjoy himself, after all his anger felt so good to hear. Other things awaited her. Pushing Loki off softly as she turned away from the chaotic Norse and approached Ouranos. She bowed deeply in a curtsy and spoke softly with innocence. "Thy word is law my child." When she rose her head she cocked her head with a strange smile and turned to the door. She gestured to Loki with her hand and spoke cooly. "Best be careful we don't overflow this room with anything too EXCITING for these beings frail HEARTS... come and entertain Khaosssss with YOUR DESIRE elsewhere...." The goddess that stood for exactly the opposite of what Ouranos was seeking made her leave. The room just became that much less chaotic.
Bishamonten jolted from his position when Ouranos' voice boomed across the hall. He listened to his words, a sinking feeling in his chest. So if this was how things were going to be, then who were they to judge? Coming down to the mortal realm should have inspired humility, being around mortals like this. But it seemed that was not the case for everyone. Shame. Bishamonten sighed. So there was going to be no vote after all. Then that would mean Zeus would be banished, he felt. He wasn't quite sure of the outcome, but his gut instincts told him that Zeus would be banished. The god stood up from his chair. "Very well, I'll leave if you so demand it," he said before heading towards the door and exiting the hall.
Hestia couldn't really relax after the incident with Odin. She was chewing on her thumb nail again when Ouranos began to speak, making her jump a little and let out a timid squeak. She listened to his words carefully, continuing to chew on her nail. So Zeus is...? she thought to herself, feeling bad that there was nothing she could do for her youngest sibling. Having a limiter didn't really deter her, for she knew that she shouldn't use her divine power. Still, did her grandfather had to be so cruel with his words? She sighed as she slowly stood up. "If that is what you wish, Grandfather, then I will take my leave," she said. Pause. "But please, don't be too harsh on Zeus." She didn't know if he would listen as she scurried out of the hall, feeling ill at ease. Whatever happened next was for fate to decide.
For the first time since arriving, the river god’s mouth remained absolutely silent. His eyes just skeptically watched the events that unfolded before him. Any deity with half a brain could easily detect internal strife among the Norse gods. Why else would that little midget brat of a frost goddess so blatantly dragon down the All-father from his once lofty position? Whatever. Things were much more convenient this way. Only after the other gods and goddesses had begun to depart, did he finally turn over to Osiris with a curious glance. “Speak of the devil. Looks like you might have a chance after all.” His hand reached out once more before glutinously devouring yet another platter whole. After a satisfied smack of his lips, he’d smack the god across his back as a showing of encouragement before taking his own leave. “Go get ‘em tiger. Do it for all of us.” /exit
Osiris looked rather pleased with the result of everything that had transpired. He had no interest in using his divine for anything anyways, so he was all for Ouranos’ mandate that the gods will have to wear some kind of limiter. It would be unfashionable at most. Though, it does appear to him that the Norse’ internal conflict will pave the way toward a future he’s always wanted. With that in mind, he wouldn’t have to put in as much of an effort to achieve his goal. Looking to Sobek, Osiris flashed him a rather devious grin as he conversed with the crocodile, “What are you talking about? I’m the laziest of the Egyptian gods, I have no interest in this power struggle… But, all this strife and violence must definitely be remedied with celebration. Let us go and prepare for the party that honors the dead. I will have you decorate our estate.” After their brief exchange, Osiris put his arm around Sobek as they left together, an aura of merriment exuding from them.
Dungeon Master *This post presumes that all the gods have left the Hall aside from Tiamat, Ouranos, and Astrid (the Valkyrie in charge of the votes) In a relaxed gait, Tiamat approached Ouranos, who returned her sharp gaze with his own, beckoning her to quickly state her business and get out. “Ouranos, would it expedite thy decision if I introduce thee to a mortal who witness Zeus entering the dungeon and tapping into his wellspring to save his mortal playthings? If it would take more to convince thee, this witness is Zeus’ favored son, I think we both know what that means,” she asked in a polite voice that displayed utmost respect to the leaders of the gods. Ouranos leaned his cheek against his fist as he deeply stared into Tiamat’s eye, attempting to figure out what the dragoness was scheming beneath that seductive face of her. He has never been one to trust what was once a lizard that was set on destroying the world, but then again, his mother is very much the same and her words could be trusted once in a while. “Humor me, Daughter of Discord” he gave his permission in an authoritative voice. With a snap of a finger, Tiamat signaled her attendants to bring in the trump card’s she has been hiding up till now. Although she wanted to discredit the Greek family in front of an audience, too many unforeseeable things had transpired. But it matters not now that Ouranos had retracted every god’s right to vote, which gives her the chance to sway him and him alone. When Naburo was escorted in by the female attendants, Tiamat came over to the man and guided him forward with her dainty fingers softly caressing the lower portion of his back. “Go on, tell Master Ouranos what thee told me about that day.” @Naburo Keilz
Naburo had told Tiamat everything that happened, how that Zeus using his powers cause more death than the creature. The pain he felt when he saw children, CHILDREN DIE because of Zeus. The hurt, the heartbreak, and...the fact that everything had gone down the metaphorical shitter, He was standing outside of the God's meeting hearing...everything. The arguments the yelling, the glasses breaking, and even the outburst from well that blonde. And wait was that Loki? Shaking his head he ignored what he was thinking and just stood there as everyone filed out of the room. He got a few sympathetic looks because of the scars on his face, his broken arm, and a small cast on his leg. Now he stood there waiting for Tiamat's order. Blinking a few times he sighed and was about to walk away when he saw several valkyries walking toward him and then into the room to join Odin and the others. Sighing yet again Nabu was about to walk away only to be stopped yet again. But this time by Tiamat's other cronies. Looking at them as they helped him into the room where the gods were, Nabu couldn't help but almost fall down. He was still in a lot of pain and his body was not yet fully healed. The reassuring hand on his lower back from Tiamat helped him steady himself. Looking at Ouranos, Nabu bowed his head and spoke with a slightly raspy voice. While his voice might be raspy what he was saying had a definitely jagged point to it. "Master Ouranus, it is an honor to meet you." With the first introductory sentence out of the way, Nabu continued. "My name as might know it is Naburo Keilz, the current well...now ex-current number 1 male in Zeus' familia. Zeus in his grand wisdom...had decided to throw a dungeon party. While the party was good and all.I had witnessed Zeus venturing into the dungeon. While a god venturing into the dungeon isn't necessarily bad...But he used his powers. I remember when we created the Council of Adventurers you, Odin, Ra, and a few others gave us a few guidelines . If the god's or goddess use their power...and that is what Zeus did. He used his power and cause all of the death we saw last night." Pausing there he clenched his fist tightly and then spoke some more. "He...disappointed me. He betrayed your agreement, he betrayed my trust, and he is responsible for 328 deaths." Naburo had learned the number of dead from the result of that catastrophic event just recently and it angered him. "whatever you decide for him, know this. I officially left his familia as of when I woke up from my...injuries and have since transferred over to Tiamat because unlike Zeus...she has not used her powers. But, I sincerely hope you punish him for breaking your rules. I know I would."
Dungeon Master “Daughter of Discord and Zeus’ Favored Son, I have heard all that I need to and will take this information into my decision regarding Zeus. Leave me to my thoughts now,” Ouranos gazed down upon the two with weary eyes. Though, if one looked carefully, one might take notice of a fire deep within those eyes that has seen far too much. After the brief exchange, Ouranos sent in the guards to escort both Tiamat and Naburo out. Once Tiamat was no longer in Ouranos’ sight, she flashed a pleased smiled as she tugged on Naburo’s arm, whispering in a quiet voice. “Come, thou must have a drink with this goddess. A job well done for a mere mortal.” /Tiamat & Naburo exit
The titan, Briareus, continued to linger about despite Ouranos’ command. With each deity slowly drifting out, his frail figure persisted within the hall, lurking quietly behind a pillar as he waited for the crowd to dissipate. Not all his colleagues would leave however, as a single lone dragoness remained despite his patient waiting. Tiamat?!? A confused look came across the deity’s face as he watched silently. From the looks of it, the council head did not mind his presence. Perhaps he was even being allowed to stay by some unspoken accord. As the events unfolded, his eyes widened with horror as a recognizable mortal entered. It was one of Zeus’ flock, or formerly as the man claimed. Though wanting to burst out from his hiding place, in order to rectify the standings and redeem his nephew, fear continued to paralyze the titan as he nervously eyed the dragon god with a deeply rooted sense of anxiety. The titan had suffered greatly as a plaything of Campe, leaving him eternally scarred in a truly profound fashion beyond the understanding of mortals. His body shivered with fear from merely acknowledging the dragoness. That fear would quickly subside however as the goddess and her obedient little dog were ushered out shortly thereafter. ----- Once the hall had grown silent, with all its other attendees having long since evacuated, the titan’s meek figure would finally appear from behind the pillar. Despite Ouranos’ order to leave, the youth had firmly persisted. Clearly his mind had been made on that matter. Though timid and perhaps lacking the command or presence his colleagues retained, the deity had mustered up whatever courage was required in order to present himself before the elder god. “I-it was my fault…” His voice started off weakly as a whisper, before he repeated himself once more, this time with clarity and conviction. “It was my fault… Zeus isn’t the one to blame. T-tiamat… her mortal lies.” A brief moment of silence ensued as that thought began to settle in. Swallowing hard as if choking down his own fear, he’d press on. “That day… I had gotten lost… in the dungeon. Despite my better judgement, I used divine power in order to find the exit. The shadow trying to escape, Zeus sealing off the exit, the tower’s brink of collapse… those t-t-three hundred and twenty eight souls…” A heavy pause followed yet again at this number as his fists clenched with a sense of great burden. “It’s all my fault.” Briareus looked up at the elder god with a sense of desperation, his eyes welling despite not yet shedding tears. Given his progenitor’s disposition and previous treatment of the titan, some lingering part of him had already been able to guess at the outcome. Still, despite all of this, the youth had to try and set things right. The silver haired deity’s shadow left by a nearby brazier began to elongate and grow, taking on a monstrously hideous form. This same hideous form was none other than the titan’s true self, which now kneeled before Ouranos while prostrated upon the ground. Despite this towering figure looming greatly over the elder, not a sense of intimidation or power emanated from it. “I have erred and have come to confess. Zeus is not the misguided child, but only yet another member of this family that has been deprived of a proper guiding hand.” The deep voice trembled with unsurety as he pressed forth. “F-father… please reprimand this w-wretched child of yours instead.” For the first time ever since his existence, a word of acknowledgement would come from the titan as he addressed the elder god with familial propriety. Tears began to roll forth from those many faces as the entity beseeched the man before him. “So many eons of confinement have passed since you cast away this hideous son of yours into the depths of hell… What harm would a few more bring? Just let Zeus go. P-please… I beg of you. This child would not be able to endure were both his liberator and first friend to suffer in his place.” A loud series of knocking sound echoed through the halls as the titan raised his heads once, twice, three times in total. With each motion, they’d forcefully press against the ground, carrying a sense of gravity so weighty that the hall itself shook.
Dungeon Master Ouranos winced at the sight of the hideous creature prostrating before him and shedding unrelenting tears. Although Briareus’ confession was news to the Sky God, Ouranos’ demeanor remained unchanged as his eyes were fixed on his wayward son. Never in his life had he felt the crushing weight of disappointment from looking at the unambitious and mentally-deficient progeny before him. However, in a brief consultation with himself, it seemed that this situation may be a blessing in disguise—an opportunity that doesn’t come often. Knowing that it would benefit him in the long run, Ouranos returned his attention to the Titan. “Silence and cease those tears,” Ouranos responded to Briareus weeping confession with a command. “Do not shed tears in front of me again, Son of Ouranos, it is a disgrace to those of Titan-born. Though, I suppose you are undeserving of the birthright, as yet again, you side with the whoreson who brought about the fall of the Titans. But it matters not, I hold the key to Zeus’ release, follow my command lawfully and I will release Zeus from his confine in due time. Leave and wallow in your guilt until you can unshackle yourself from these ugly emotions and brotherly bond. We have a lot of work ahead. It seems that there are poisonous vipers in this order.” To be continued...
