New faces (Open)

  1. New faces

The light sound as the droplets of sweat rolled off flesh and fell to the ground only a short distance away. Muscles tensed slowly as the figure allowed himself to fall forward, his right arm supporting most of his weight while his left held a poorly made sign over his back. 'Tank for hire, will work as a support also for 10% cut.' A poorly painted message on both front and back of the sign as the male tapped the puddle of his sweat with his nose before pushing himself up slowly.

He had been minding his own for some time now judging from how much sweat had built up across his flesh, and hit the ground around him. Hinabi’s hair had fell over his face some time ago, the red strands hiding his sky blue eyes and sharp teeth from view of those passing the small training ground he was relaxing at to avoid them mumbling ill things about him. However the fact that he had Two tails slowly swaying in the air as he held himself, arm fully stretched out with palm to the ground for a few moments before starting another pushup.

The Runarl was not stranger to getting odd looks because of his appearance. Few of his kind had the same color or close to same color fur as he did, not to mention he had never met or heard of one born with Two tails outside of himself. Arm shaking slightly as Hinabi shifted his weight and pushed off the ground by a small amount. Right arm moving to his back to hold his sign, while left moved to support his weight before slamming face first into the ground below his face. The rough ground under his hand helped him keep pushing himself, he wanted to be the stone that could protect those around him without being sharp to hurt those attacking. A flat stone who wished to remain only a shield unless he truly needed to fight back.

Reluctantly however Hinabi moved his sign to rest on his side for a moment before pushing upward yet again, but with enough force to get himself standing strait. Shortly after though the Runarl bent his back slightly to slouch over to hide his true height, and to keep his hair over his face for the moment. The cold breeze crossing the field reminded him how early it was as left hand rose to cover his yawning expression. His Falna showing slightly under his hair as he stretched his arms back, then leaned down to get his sign. Maybe he would have better luck closer to the tower then a small training ground nobody seemed to be using outside himself.

  2. Sword check.
    Armor check.
    Bag of rations, check.
    Wits check
    Justice, double check!

Lilian Felding had reached the Tower of Babel at long last. She felt the weight of her sword strapped to her back. Her armor fit just right after three different trips to get it fitted right. A small sack was attached to her belt, filled with enough supplies for at least one day worth of adventuring. Lilian closed her eyes and sighed. She did her hardest to remove the stress and anxiety of this moment. Heroes are never scared or intimated. They always succeed! The young girls eye's opened and she nodded. It was time to try and tackle this thing. With or without the protection of the gods.

The heroine had met a few and heard even more stories. They were completely ungodlike as far as Lilian was concerned. Humans have heroes to look up to and to protect them. Gods could never replace them and they were proving it in her opinion. Perhaps she just needed to meet one that upheld justice and peace with righteousness. Then she might change her mind. That wasn't happening anytime soon though...

With each step towards the dungeon she was becoming more nervous. Her father was lost in there. The greatest of all the heroes in her family. Warrior of Light Derrick was defeated by this place. Why did this place change like this? The burden on her shoulders was great but justice had to prevail, and she was it's sword. The great tower rose as she got ever closer. Her face remained determined. It was too late to back down now.

A sound made her jump. Lilian drew her sword from her back and spun around.

"Who's there? Evil beast who has escaped the dungeon. Meet Justice!"

Hinabi was no stranger to people pointing weapons at him sadly. His first action was stepping just out of the weapon’s reach as he looked down at the wielder with a puzzled expression. "While calling me a beast and everything is fine I would like you to refrain from trying to harm me without a good enough reason.” His right hand slowly moving upward as he spoke before trying to move the blade away from his immediate area. His sky blue eyes glowing faintly as he kept his smile up with closed lips to avoid showing his teeth.

His sweat rolling off his chest as he backed up to let the girl see him a bit better so he was not mistaken for a beast again. His fox ears twitching to the sound of the birds, his Two tails flicking around behind him. Mostly pushing his sign around to let people see it from different angles as he looked at the girl. "Anyways, judging from how you reacted to someone being behind you i think it is safe to assume this is your first time going towards the dungeon?” Hinabi spoke almost like a father would to his child as he leaned forward, his nose twitching slightly.

He did not seem to smell any blood on her, so she either was pure in the sense of taking a creature's life, or knew how to wash it out. "A word of advice from a old fool, best not to try to go into the dungeon alone on your first try, that's how a lot of kids get killed.” Leaning back to his slouched position as he began to walk past the girl to her left side, his right arm reaching to tap her shoulder as he passed her and walked towards the dungeon. The winds picking up revealing his Falna marking before he moved his sign to hide it and kept walking.

  4. Lilian's face flushed a bit red with embarrassment. He was not a monster. She really was too jumpy right now. Maybe this was going to be a bad idea... Going into the dungeon as soon as she could was unwise. Maybe she should get some information about this new version of the place from someone who frequents it regularly to understand it. Maybe the guild would be a good start? She had to apologize to this man first of course!

"I'm sorry. I was over prepared for battle and my fighting instincts were at 200% you see. I don't do that kind of stuff all the time!"

As he passed her and gave his sage advise. Lilian noticed he had a falna.... oh great. Being told advise from a slave to some god. Hopefully it was not a evil god. At least the neutral ones had some good intentions. She turned towards him and asked with a tone of respect but also slight cynicism.

"If I may ask, who is your god?"

Hinabi stood still for some time before he would reply. Left hand moving his hair and sign to show the Falna mark again, while right hand pointed to his snowflake earrings. "Cailleach, the goddess of winter. She has been here for ten years... and Im the last member living of her Familia right now." Hinabi moved his hands back to his sides before he turned to face the girl. A closed mouth smile across his face as his eyes showed the pain of being the last, almost as if saying he was there when each died and in truth he was there.

"If your going into the dungeon I would advise you have a god or goddess you serve, or stay within the first two floors." Hinabi moved his hair a bit as he spoke, the sharp teeth shining slightly as he spoke to the girl. his scars faintly glowing from the sweat on his body before he turned back around. "Now if you wanted to talk to the guild and ask them for advise or tips about dungeon diving that's fine, and it would make this old fool worry less about kids like you so eager to rush their own lives to a potential gruesome end."

Hinabi waved to the girl again as he kept heading towards the tower of babel. His two tails flicking his sign as he walked. if she followed him inside she would see him walk towards a guild adviser as he set down a few monster crystals. he had forgot to turn them in the last time he was here. but seeing as the last time he was trapped here was overnight when the dungeon caved in. His scars from that day closed like most of his others, dull reminders of his weakness to protect others.

  6. Lilian was not terribly happy with the suggestion to find a deity. That sounded like it would be far harder for her than others. Mostly because she had to uphold the hero's code more so than any one gods. His god was Cailleach? Lilian didn't know that one. Mostly her father only talked about a few gods that he had met priests of during his travels. That was the only kinds of people who would be talking about deities so much. Now everyone talked about them. Maybe this was the point though Lilian thought. What better way to become prominent in your creations lives then to live right along side them/ Well it was pointless to think about too much. Especially right now.

Lilian decided to separate from the man and head back for the night. She just wasn't ready to tackle this alone. She needed to find something around town maybe to boost her skills. Not to mention she lost the proper mindset from the surprise encounter here.

"Thank you for your advice. Did your comrades fall to the dungeon? I'm sorry. I hope it was for a worthy endeavor."

The young girl watched him head off and called to him from a distance.

"My name is Lilian Felding sir! I wish you well."

  7. New faces

profileHinabi's face grew colder then the ice his Goddess built her statues from. Slowly glancing over his shoulder to address the question. "My other Familia members had been murdered by a dark god and his group. Those closest to me burned by his very hands before my eyes." Hinabi's voice was colder then his expression, eyes holding so much pain as the memories returned. Turning back he simple walked away after saying such a grim thing to the young girl.

He did not bother to give his name. His mood was turned for the worse and his focus was simply to go somewhere he could be alone to say his apologies to those of the dead. He was no longer wanting to enter the dungeon, feet taking him to a flower shop he supposed it was time to go renew the flowers of his family's grave. With that he walked away from Lilian to attend to his new task for the day. Should fate call for it they would meet again and he would introduce himself then hopefully.
