Nyx, Goddess of Night Pantheon: Greek/Roman Looks: 25 Sex: Female Sexuality: Pansexual Relationship: Married to Erebus Height: 5’10” Build: Lithe Personality Nyx is a goddess who loves all children, regardless of their opinions, beliefs, or even the Familia they have chosen to be with. She is a fair deity who does not emulate any favoritism for one or the other. She is as kind and loving as easily as she is just, yet unforgiving. If there is one person she does not favor in particular, it would Zeus, the God of Thunder. She may seem aloof and apathetic at first, but she is weary of all, more-so for the sake of the well-being of the mortals, as well as her fellow gods and goddesses, as any mother should. However, there are times when she may show times of arrogance that may very well rival Zeus' own, to a point where it seems almost unfathomable. But such is the nature of a primordial god, after all. Positive: Kind, Loving, Protective Negative: Deceitful, Wrathful, Impatient Biography So fragile is the line between sleep and death, the difference only waking with the dawn. In that darkness she reigns, as the sun sinks below the horizon, as stalkers hunt their prey, as shadows thicken to consume the light. She is primal in a way that even the mightiest of Gods must fear, for she is the Goddess of Night, Nox, and from her was born all the certainties of life. Friendship and Love, Sunsets and Dreams, these are the Gods of inspiration. Nox is mother to them all. So too is she the mother of misfortune: Doom and Blame, Deceit, Strife, Woe and Death. Nox must love and protect all her children equally, as any mother would. They are her calling and her curse; her greatest pride and deepest shame. It is for her children that she has descended from Heaven to live by their side forevermore. Clothed not in black, but blackness, Nox is rarely seen. She glides between the light, just at the edge of vision. A specter. Even the God of Thunder is known to fear her, for Nox could steal his whispered breath and send him to a sleep eternal where dreams do not exist and no one ever wakes with the dawn. Nyx is a primordial Goddess, living long before the time of the Titans, as well as the Olympians. She is the daughter of Chaos, and the wife of Erebus, and with him, gave birth to a number of children, each ruling over a factor of life. Nemesis(retribution), Hypnos (sleep), Thanatos (death), Geras (old age), Eris(strife) and Charon (the boatman who brought the souls of the dead to the gates of the underworld). According to Hesiod, Nyx's home was in Tartarus, along with her children Hypnos and Thanatos. Status Familia: Domains: Chaos Darkness Inspiration Misfortune Life Death Talents: Shadow Manipulation - The power to control the shadows is one not to be underestimated, no matter how powerful another god may be. Nyx is capable of weaving shadows to her every beck and call, shaping them in whatever form she may choose, however she pleases. From binding one by their own shadows, to creating a dark void of silence, or even creating monstrous beasts from the very darkness itself. Where there is light, there is darkness, and she makes her point in stating that she is the mother of all things that go bump in the night. Night Flight - Nyx is capable of granting herself the power of flight, albeit only during the life of the night sky. She is able to soar as high as 50 feet off the ground, at great speeds that could easily rival that of the fastest vehicle flight machine, if not, much faster than that. The Darkness is MY Ally - Nyx possess a manner of movement that is like second nature to her. She glides across the earth like a specter, weaving her way in and out however she pleases. As such, she is capable of blending in with walls, or even escaping into another persons' shadow. An example to show that Nyx is by far the slipperiest snake one will ever meet. Alternatively, through channeling her dark powers throughout Orario City, Nyx is capable of listening in on the whispers of its residents through the many shadows that linger throughout its area. Master Seamstress - As a woman with fine tastes in clothing and aesthetic appearances, Nyx is a natural when it comes to the art of weaving, priding herself in her skills to create the most elegant outfits from even the most mundane materials. The only person she believes could rival her may very well be Arachne, the Spider Goddess of Weaving. Inventory Property: Castrum de Nocte - A 15 unit building that has been greatly modified to Nyx's liking, built in a part of the Upper Quarters of Orario that resembles much more like a castle as opposed to a mere apartment building. It rests in a place that is convenient to her tastes, betwixt the borders of night and day. In the rays of the sun, it looks like any plain old mansion. But the night is when it truly seems to come "alive", almost ethereal in appearance with how the moonlight shines upon its glorious walls within the darkness, not in a manner of haunting, but of warm invitation.
