Roaming Stragglers [Mission]

Discussion in 'Chapter 3: Boiling Point' started by Jun, Nov 19, 2016.

  1. Unnatural. That was the only word that could describe the vibe Jun constantly felt regarding this whole place called the 8th floor, Avarus. Her teeth gritted at the thought of adventurers and builders thinking this was some kind of dungeon paradise, pulling everything and everyone they could inside as if they could dominate or put a leash on something as wild and unpredictable like the dungeon. Jun sighed heavily her throwing spikes sliding from the insides of her sleeves, halting exactly between her fingers. In a swift horizontal motion, Jun launched the spikes with great force towards her dummy target.

Gulping, the young runarl could not believe what the result – all red. Four throwing spikes, every each of them hit the red spot in the dummy’s center and what’s even weird; each spike held so much force it could actually move the wooden dummy around. Perhaps the whole thing regarding Falna was truth after all and as a beginner, such power also felt so unnatural. Shrugging, the young fox girl accepted her new physical limit of her body for now and just try to get along with the change because those were steps she’d need to take in order to surpass that precious someone.

Jun slid her hands on her pockets, pulling a small pocket watch, her ears twitching in response to the time. She stuffed the watch back into one of her pockets, got her backpack ready and left for the makeshift camp where she were supposed to meet her partner for a mission as per the organizer. It was a common procedure really, back in her hunter days people would often get lost and rescue should be sent in order to save or retrieve what was left of them. Jun wasn’t very tense or worried about anything either, despite the fact that she was a beginner because not only she was partnered with a strong adventurer, the odin familia also took out an unbelievable amount of monsters to reach the eighth floor.

She finally arrived at the makeshift camp where she quickly found the organizer of her mission. From then on, they moved with a few others close to the way back to the eighth floor. Jun’s tail wagged slowly, proof of her concentration on listening to the instructions given to every adventurer by the organizer. The young fox girl sheepishly approached her partner, Naburo Keilz, extending a hand upwards to him. Being paired up with strong people made her feel like a dead weight sometimes. Still, based on the information received by the organizer, the mission shouldn’t be that much of a hassle.

“ Hello, I’m Jun, your partner for this mission. I’m still learning a lot of things about the dungeon, but I hope… to help the best I can.” Jun’s ears twitched unconsciously due to her nervousness. After his response, she looked at the dungeon entrance back to the eighth floor reverting her gaze back to the redhead soon after.

“I’m not the strongest adventurer around, but I have experience with hunting and first aid. I also have supplies in case we find someone with serious injuries. I mainly use throwing weapons as offensive measures. ” She patted on her leather backpack as well as her leather belt containing all of her throwing spikes.

“I’m willing to cooperate and use my skills to the best with yours…”
She finished her sentence prematurely, as if waiting for him to tell her something. Jun did indeed share information about herself to Naburo and truth be told she expected the same, somehow.
