The winds seemed colder, welcoming and comforting. Soothing to a goddess who had just emerged from a long arduous battle. Very fitting for a battle goddess such as her and yet there's too much to be considered when your powers are sealed. As it turns out, the mental seals placed on the gods as per the divine pact when they descend were ignored by most gods. A fact that she played with and it was by sheer luck that she wasn’t burned by it. Granted, after what she had done she deserved the ruling of the god Ouranus, she didn't know if other gods and goddesses deserve it as well. The mortals on the other hand would benefit greatly from it. It will ensure the continued life of the mortals who dwell in this world. Skadi just hoped that this act won't push the humans...the tainted kind, to commit acts unbefitting of a being given the capacity to think rationally. As for everything else, she will just have to wait and see. That was the good thing of it all, just like all gods she will be here to stay with them forever. And so Skadi walked, and walked and walked. The destination is where her feet chose to take her to. Just being here alone, in solace, reminded her of her previous home. Sure she can see some points of improvements here and there, nothing a blizzard or two won't fix. But at least, the metaphysical aspect was there. What appeared before her was a view of Orario from a slightly raised land. The frigid winds danced happily as they played with her dark blue hair. Being pseudo mortal was a lot more than what she thought it would be and here she was. Only about a days in and she gained her first familia member aptly named @Choir . She had also lived off of @Freya for the time being as she still did not have claimed a home for her. A normal home that is, one that would be suited to her less than divine body. And a week after, she had perfectly executed her plan. A plan of thwarting the all father Odin. In a way, she wasn't afraid at first. At least not before she gained her familia and strengthened her resolve in making sure than her other reason of staying is fulfilled. True, the main reason of her descent had been to find out the indescribable warmth she had been feeling sprouting inside her chest. But upon finding out the truth about Odin's plan, she knew she just had to stop it. And now she wonders how everyone else from her pantheon would react. She originally wasn't one of them to begin with. She was a frost giant, a fierce one at that. Someone whom all the gods in her pantheon had trouble dealing with especially when she marched in on the day she took up her divine regalia and planned to seek revenge for her father's murder. It took three conditions for her to change her mind and side with them, and she was only a goddess by affinity of marriage. If news leaks out to everyone in her pantheon of her actions, she'll be doomed as a traitor and she will be treated as a pariah. @Baldur
While Skadi was walking away from the town, she'd find someone waking towards her from the opposite direction heading in towards town. His gait was slow and steady, unrushed and tranquil as could be, each step was measured and carried a sense of grace and nobility with it. The overcoat he wore flapped in the wind, but occasionally he'd shudder trying to wrap it around his body just a little tighter from the chilling breeze that occasionally brushed past his pristine platinum hair. Despite walking through fields, mountains it seemed, there wasn't a stain or blemish on his clothing that was as white as the snow, the only color on his body seemed to be the healthy peach that touched his cheeks and his vibrantly colored eyes that were turned down towards his gloved hands. Skadi might recognize him immediately as Baldr, but he'd yet to really make any waves in the city, his foundation was weak in the town, not like Odin's at all. Despite that though, up til now Baldr had confidence in the All Father's methodology and wisdom to help them carve out a territory, normally he would have remained in the fields enjoying his time among the mortals, but strangely he found himself being summoned back to town after the very meeting that was supposed to clench a victory for their side. Though perplexed, an ugly emotion like confusion or uncertainty wouldn't come to the man's face, instead there was only a perpetual calm that could easily resonate with others, and a very kind, perhaps impish smile that carried with it a youthful innocence that was blended with a warming maturity. This smile, was naturally for the object he held in his hand as he walked. A simple bird, though not too young to fly, it was an injured creature, one that had caught the God's attention these last few days keeping him preoccupied and out of town while he watched it grow and learn. Not yet ready to fly, the god was forced to carry it in his palm, but the small dove that was just as white as he was was well behaved. As he got closer, Skadi might even be able to hear the soft humming of a gentle song coming form his lips. "I keep reaching... But you're not reaching back. Trying to get in... Pushing through the cracks. I guess I'm trying to say-- It hurts to feel so far-- A million miles away-- Next to me, Next to me you are~" It was merely an idle tune, but the God of light had a very pure and melodious voice to it, it had the delicate allure of femininity from time to time while other times there was a gentle and reassuring masculinity to it. "And if you're standing right there... Then why are we worlds apart~" He'd continue his gentle song while using a few of his gloved fingers to gently stroke the bird's feathered head. The bird itself seemed on the verge of sleep, it's small eyes half lidded and closing slowly under the God's gentle caresses. It wasn't until he finally noticed Skadi that he'd stop his song. Initially there was surprise-- Then kindness and welcome in his expression as he looked at Skadi, even without words his gaze alone was enough to communicate a very warm and tender welcome, but that didn't stop him from touching his empty hand to his chest giving a delightfully formal greeting. "Skadi, I hadn't expected to see you out here so far from town." His voice even without singing was just as lovely as he expressed his surprise. His brow knit gently though, troubled for a moment as he continued in a soft tone. "If I'd known I would have prepared something-- Something but, this is rather sudden isn't it?" He asked flashing her a radiant smile as if to say 'these things happen'.
For a time, she was blinded by something she taught was really bright light. Her dainty right hand reached up to cover her eyes to avoid the glare. After being in the dimly lit hall of the gods for a while somehow affected her vision. Mortals are so fragile, just something of that level affected them so easily. Maybe if she just chose instead to be among the wolfsmen then maybe it would've been different. After a few seconds, she heard someone speak. Feeling her shoulders tense up at the familiar voice, she froze literally on the spot. How could she ever forget that melodic voice? It was one of the few things that her addled and forgetful head could ever forget. Her hand slowly came down and true enough, as if the beauty of the lights converged at one area and created this being in front of her. "Oh...I didn't know you're here as well Baldr...I was looking for you at the hall of the gods…" The last words she muttered at a lower volume, unsure whether he would really hear her out. Unbeknownst to the winter goddess, her cheek had colored after the things she had said. And because she had skin as white as snow, it was quite evident. Feeling her temperature rise up, a small frown appeared on her forehead. Maybe she had overdone it earlier when she used up all her powers. She thought that being weakened and exhausted were the only possible effects. She wasn't entirely sure of the side effects though. Maybe fever was actually one of them? The combined mental fatigue, physical exhaustion and the heavy burden of thinking up of countless of ways to deal with Odin caused Skadi to finally give in. Losing the strength on her legs, she fell down with a thud. Not fully on her butt as she was able to force her other knee to not buckle as much as the other one did. She lay sprawled on the ground, one knee supporting all her weight. Her face scrunched up not from the pain but from her actions. It was not very graceful and rather shameful for someone like her. Even for a huntress god who suffered more injuries than she could ever remember. Before Baldr was even able to react, Skadi stood up at once, trying to mask the touch of pain she felt on her knee. Since it was the one that supported her whole body, a scraped had formed when she fell on it. Blood started to tint her kimono making the injury all the more obvious. And she was actually going to play it off as if nothing had happened. But now she had no choice but to deal with it. Limping all the way to the side where she had found a tree, Skadi found herself sitting on a mound beside it. A bit apprehensive that Baldur will get to see "her" legs instead of the other way around...she reluctantly proceeded to loosen her kimono and expose them. True enough, crimson blood already started to slide down her knee. @Baldr
Baldr heard her clearly, from start to finish, his head tilting to some extent as his gaze narrowed at her looking closely. He naturally remembered Skadi but she seemed troubled by something, looking closer he tried to look deeper to find the reason but it was difficult for him to decipher no matter how empathetic he was. "Is that so?... I suppose that would be true. I've been watching a flower grow from beneath the snow at the bottom of the mountain since I arrived. It had such a lovely color-- A bright and familiar shade of amber and pink, I'd wanted to make sure it would be strong enough in this cold to keep going." He spoke softly as he stepped a bit closer to Skadi, the reference to pink and amber was no doubt a playful metaphor for the woman's eyes and lips, but he didn't explain farther to let it remain an unknown. Skadi didn't seem to be herself though, stumbling about here or there and struggling to her feet, it made Baldr's brow knit, a woman in trouble shouldn't be allowed to suffer alone. When she tried to sit down and exposed her legs, he'd try to lower himself to a knee in front of her. Even if it stained his pristine white pants, it didn't seem to matter when compared to someone else's suffering. With a flourishing gesture, he swung his overcoat back away from his arms before reaching out for her injured leg trying to gingerly cradle her calf before reaching up to the injury with his other hand. If the Goddess hadn't made an effort to shove him away or refuse, he'd look at the injury a short while before a frown eventually set in. From his breast pocket, he'd pull a small handkerchief, with one more flourishing flick to spread the silky fabric, he'd tenderly try dabbing and wiping her leg letting the blood stain the monogrammed cloth that bore his symbol. Gently trying to hold it to her leg as he spoke with a soft concerned sigh. "Skadi, while it might not be my place to say, you shouldn't be out when you're not feeling yourself." He spoke trying to glance up at her with a reassuring gaze as he tried to take care of her for the moment. Trying to stop the bleeding of her knee, he was content to wait until he was certain the injury wouldn't leave a permanent mark. "If it had scarred, i would be beside myself after all. It's a tragedy for there to be a blemish on such a beautiful flower." He explained patiently as if lecturing Skadi despite it being complimentary as well. He'd try to support her until the injury wasn't bleeding any longer if she'd let him, but would otherwise exhale a breath wondering why the Goddess seemed so frail. "Did the All Father perhaps offer you too much to drink at the meeting? Perhaps it would have been better if I'd gone as well just to keep an eye on things while the sentencing was read." He couldn't help murmuring thinking about why he was summoned back to town as well. Odin hadn't usually had a need for Baldr's talents, the God of Light attentions were only ever best used when there was disaster afoot or when Odin himself was preoccupied with war and needed someone to act in his place and hold down the fort. Truly Baldr found himself growing more worried about the reason for his being called back. If he'd gone to the meeting perhaps he'd have a better understanding. That conflict however never appeared in his expression or even as a flicker in his gaze. He hid his feelings and thoughts very well behind that kind and concerned exterior that was still worried about Skadi's leg.
