Hera's ResidenceNighttime- after the meeting at the Hall of Gods Hera was majorly displeased with the outcome of the meeting and how her jerk of a grandfather simply disregarded everyone’s opinion like that. He handed out democracy like a toy and took it away immediately as though they were children. It was a massive insult to the goddess, who has done so much to tend to the Greek pantheon when they were still in the metaphysical world, presiding over it like the concerned matriarch that she was. After she took a deep breath and suppressed the desire to know a cup against the wall, Hera quickly finished brewing the tea and lavished a large Persian plate with tasty sweets she and her children had prepared that morning. It was getting rather late in the night; however, the matter of their talk was extremely important and couldn't be left until the following day. After they were done, she had her maids carry the tray of tea and sweets to the room next door. The room where the family was set to happen appeared cozy in the dimmed yellow light and had a large mahogany table laid in the center as well as chairs surrounding it. After they set the table, Hera took her seat at the head of the table, waiting for the other Greek deities to arrive. She hoped her familia had delivered her message properly and that the content reach her family members. Sitting and reflecting on her thought, Hera began stuffing her face with macaroons, thinking if she might have gone overboard when she destroyed Odin’s eye. Although she did fear the repercussion of drawing blood in the sacred hall, Skadi taunted her into doing it. Besides, for a god to have something as powerful as the all-seeing eye, it was far too easy for them to pry and scheme, it had to be destroyed. In that case, she had no choice. @Briareus @Hades @Hecate @Hestia @Khaos @Nyx @Athena
Athena had only just descended into the mortal plane and this was the greeting she received. How fortunate however, that she was able to catch wind of this meeting through the many means at her disposal. A goddess of wisdom, after all, would not truly be wise if she did not have a plethora of tricks to use to her advantage when it suited her. She arrived at the room which a conference was to be held and gazed up at the woman whom was her father’s wife, but not her mother at the same time. She never really got along swimmingly with Hera, but the goddess of wisdom had always been far too intelligent and perceptive to be manipulated by Hera despite her position of being consort of her father. The mere fact that Zeus often kept council with Athena was likely something that annoyed the goddess of marriage. Regardless of their strained history, Athena wore one of her polite, non-threatening smiles and offered the consort of her father the respect that was hers due. She took of her helmet, placed it underneath her arm and dipped her chin low, to offer the older goddess a nod. “Well met, Hera.” her voice was pleasant, but there was an icy undercurrent there that Athena did not bother to hide. “I have only just descended, not even an hour ago.” “It appears father has made things difficult for you once more.” oh, now that was one thing they had in common. They may never had seen eye to eye, but she knew Zeus’ antics did cause trouble for Hera from time to time as it did Athena. In that sense, they were companions, she suspected. “Have any of the others replied to your missive?” she pulled back the chair opposite of Hera and undid the buckle on her sword’s sheath that she might be able to place it on the table alongside her helmet. “Let us not waste words here, what part would you have me play Hera. You know I am capable, if our interests align… you are no fool, you must see the advantage in us working in concert.” well, Hera was a perceptive goddess when it suited her. Athena offering her services was a rare thing.
@Hera Hestia had gotten the message that Hera wanted all the members of the Greek pantheon to come and meet her. She didn't know why- well, maybe she did know why. It was most likely about Zeus, Hera did cause a fuss over him being taken into custody. She might as well help her sister and in law while she can. Unfortunately she had no idea where she was going and got lost several times. Even when she asked the people around her for directions, it seemed like she was getting farther and farther away from where she was supposed to meet the goddess and the rest of her kin. She had started chewing on her nail after some time, starting to get worried that she'll never find the place. Finally, she managed to find the place Hera was holding the meeting and immediately scurried inside to check. She began to relax when she saw the woman and stopped chewing on her nail. "Hello, Hera," she said to her sister as she began to gravitate towards the food, feeling a little bit hungry. She noticed that she, Hera, and Athena were the only ones present at the moment. She hoped the other gods would come soon, she would rather not face her sister's wrath alone.
When Hades received the letter she was knee deep in business affairs which brought a temporary scowl to her otherwise stoic face. Her Brother's woman was surely taking things far too seriously in her eyes. From the start, Hades had viewed the meeting as a rousing success, not only had they managed to get a nice and favorable method for judging Zeus without the Norse Pantheon trying to suppress them. Odin was also minus one worldly artifact and every pantheon was equally suppressed and now gods no matter how dangerous or irritating could no longer cause problems without being banished. In truth, Hades didn't see a downside, after all at the end of the day, it wasn't truly a democracy, it was practically a plutocracy. Odin and those veterans who had the most power had the most control no doubt, that didn't simply apply to the norse pantheon but with the Greek as well. Hades was perhaps one of the only ones pleased with this change, but the letter forced her to put her work on an amphitheater on hold. Setting her things aside, she made her way to the meeting place with invite in hand, holding it up as she approached the others who arrived here first. "This-- I was called away from work and construction for this. What purpose is there to meeting once more in secret?" She blankly asked as bluntly as possible. It didn't however stop Hades from sitting down at the table to receive snacks and tea. After all, she was coming and spending time, she would eat and drink as many free things as her mortal body could hold to make up for that loss as much as she could. "I for one thought things went rather well." She spoke blankly without much care.
Sensing the waning interest of her family who was supposedly on her side, Hera’s forehead began to scrunch up as she scowled at Hestia and Hades who were gorging themselves with food and making light of her meeting. Of all the people who showed up, Athena, her estranged daughter, was the most serious about discussing the issue at hand. Unwinding her stretched skin with a finger, Hera relieve her anger with a soft sigh as she sipped her steaming hot tea. “It seems unlikely that Ouranos would let Zeus free. With him being our grandfather and all, I don’t think he would publicly disgrace that idiotic husband of mine for the sake of flaunting his power. On that front, we’re okay for now. I am doubtful that Odin and his family would let down me disgracing him like that though…” When the platters of food on the table slowly disappeared, Hera raised her hand and signaled her maids to resupply these hungry hippos with sustenance. Letting Hades and Hestia to eat themselves into a coma, Hera turned to Athena and addressed her specifically. “As much as I would like to take on your father’s familia, I have my hands completely full right now, can you handle the wild lot? It’s a lot to ask, but someone has got to take Zeus’ children. As much as I hate to rely on your service, I think you are at least capable in developing them in his place. Though, you’re going to need to stop them from pulling up their sleeves to bust their irresponsible father out of his prison.”
@Hera Hestia nibbled on the snacks that were left out for the other members of the Greek pantheon if they ever came. The thing was, only Hades came in, which left three goddess and the host. She was hoping that there would be more than that, since meetings were supposed to be important. Especially when it concerned the Greek pantheon. She swallowed her food and sighed. Guess they were the only ones to come, shame. "I hope Odin will be okay after that..." Hestia said as she began to chew on her nail, "But there is no doubt something is coming... Conflict...I'm sure that's what's going to happen. I'm not looking forward to it..." She looked over at Hera and Athena as they began to discuss what they should do with Zeus' familia. Truthfully, Hestia wouldn't mind taking the familia under her wing, but it was not her judgment to do so.
Hera was probably annoyed at the lack of interest Hestia was showing earlier, though Athena couldn’t imagine the goddess of the hearth being disinterested in the fate of her brother. It was most likely that Hestia wanted to get a better read on the situation before she shared her thoughts, after all, her domains were hardly ones that lent themselves to dispensing wise counsel. Hestia did however, share her foresight and concern at how Odin would act from this point on. Yet the goddess of wisdom knew this would infuriate Hera eventually if she kept up, Athena had been the target of the goddess’ ire so many times in the past that she could already read the tell-tale signs, but so far she was keeping her temper in check. An admirable effort, or at least it seemed to Athena. Hades however, was proving to be the more difficult of the three to read. She was clearly pleased about the happenings and showed marginal interest, if not near derision of Hera’s concerns, yet that couldn’t be. After all, she had come here, the fact that she put aside an important project to meet Hera suggested that she did care, or at least wanted to put tabs on one the consort of their chief god wanted to do. “He’ll not hold father prisoner for long I suspect.” she shared her assessment, though it was by no means a prediction. “But sending father back to Olympus and forbidding his return to the mortal realm… for a duration, if not permanently… that is entirely possible.” “I could.” she admitted, her fingers drumming the table in a soft but steady rhythm. “But if that is my desire, well, that is another thing entirely.” “However, for the sake of the pantheon and to prevent problems that might occur as a consequence of fathers actions, I shall take up his charge.” accepting Hera’s offer - or was it suggestion? - was inevitable. Athena was not the sort to allow discord to grow among their ranks. Order that to be restored. “Though I will be firm if I must. I am sure father has chosen the most capable of warriors, but I will strip them of their status as adventurers before they even make the attempt to free father.” “If, however, they will cede from father’s familia, I cannot stop them. I am not the one they have sworn to, I imagine some of them will find my methods too… rigid. Even father does after all. Perhaps Hestia or Hades could accept those that do not find me a worthy goddess to serve?” she swept a hand towards the other two, smiling sweetly.
"Pardon my tardiness. I had to look into a few things.", came the haunting echo of Nyx's voice, the Night Mother striding into the room with an eerie silence. She gave off the sensation that she may have been present all along and was only now deciding to voice her thoughts on it all. Then again, with the way she made sure to almost never be seen by foreign eyes, be they a fellow god, or a mortals' own, there was never a true way to discern that. It was typically a case of it better not asking and simply going with it. "At any rate, it is unfortunate that the Denatus ended the way it did. But what's done is done, as Lady Hades has stated. If anything, my main concern would lie with Ouranos. He seems to have forgotten that we all descended from the Heavens together, despite him reserving his wish to start a Familia." She stopped only for a moment as a servant came and presented her with a tray of glasses filled with wine. She took one and dismissed the young lady before taking a sip, turning her attention back to her fellow Greeks. "I fear that with his last words, Ouranos has already forgotten that arrogance is one of the grizzly flaws that causes the other Pantheons to speak ill of us. 'Tis also why our glorious era ended in such disastrous events as it did. But I am digressing." She set the glass down upon the table before taking a seat, veiled eyes looking over the rest of her present family as she spoke once more. "It is quite fine if Zeus is to be punished for his misdeeds, as he oft more than not tends to make trouble when he shouldn't. However, I remain concerned for those who have sworn fealty to him as is. Children often grow attached to gods much like a parent of their own very easily, and the exile of their patron god could result in unfavorable outcomes." She paused for a moment, as if deliberating over things in her own mind, lips moving once more as hands interlocked fingers together as she rested her chin upon them. "At any rate, we must take steps to ensure that Zeus' children do not commit to anything rash. If need be, I will take charge of those who would leave young Athena if they are displeased. If they are unsatisfied with her, then it is what it is. My methods are flexible, but I am also stern, as I am certain all of you know all too well." she said, a small smile curling upon her lips. It was hard to tell if she was being snarky, what with her hauntingly elegant tone of voice and all. That smile faded as she still had more to say. "As for the small issue of the Norse pantheon, they are of little concern for the time being. While I do admit that the presentation of the divine artifact from Lady Skadi caught me off guard, they are at each other's throats more-so than we tend to be among our own kin. And that is saying something." A hand moved to take up the wine glass once more, another small sip of the red liquid before swirling it around by the stem of the glass. "Now then, I believe I have said all that comes to mind for the time being. If you wish to add anything, feel free.... ah yes, and Hera..." she trailed off, casting a poignant stare in the hostess' direction. "I truly feel I must advise that you should be a touch more careful when acting around Odin from now on. While I applaud the way you settled the matter of Eye of Mimir, I believe it would benefit all if you let your rage do the talking for you. Cause and effect and all." @Hestia @Hera @Hades @Athena
