Getting Started
Property gives you to a landmark to place in the world that people can visit whenever they want. To begin, go to the property shop and purchase either a unit of land or a unit of building. This unit can be placed anywhere that is reasonable, which means that you can't place it in the upper quarters, or next to the royal's manor, etc.
Anyone can own property. With your property, you can run a shop, a restaurant, an inn, a tavern, a temple, or anything else you want. You can own multiple properties, just make sure to buy enough units to cover both.
Building Unit: a building unit is a room big enough for 1 person, which includes a bed, a desk, a chair, and a dresser with limited walk space between them. This unit example does not include bathroom or a closet room or anything like that. Basically, the way to build in DRP is to put units together. If you want a tall room, then stack 2 units on top of one another. If you would like a 2nd floor, then stack the 2 units on top of one another.
Land Unit: 1 land unit = 2 building units. Land is bigger in size and cheaper. You cannot stack these units on top of one another. If you would like to own some kind of natural feature (e.g. a hill, river, pond, etc.) you must purchase enough land unit to cover them entirely.
Unit Scale
- 1-unit: a room you can find in any tavern or rundown apartment complex
- 3-unit: a suite that you can live in comfortably
- 5-unit: a cozy small house
- 10-unit: a modestly-sized shop
- 15-unit: bigger shop or restaurant
- 25-unit: a big tavern with rooms upstairs
- 40-unit: a noble’s manor
- 100-unit: a castle
*Land units are simply twice as big. However, you cannot stack them on top of one another.
