Preface
The Monster Hunters is a group of people whose sole goal is to pursue the thrill and glory of the hunt. They live and breathe for the sake of conquering the world’s greatest threats. However, not many see their pursuit as heroic, but a business with added benefits. They salvage their prey’s body parts to use for themselves or sell off. The added benefit is the social status within their circle.
With all of the differing personality and belief, all members are made to swear a blood pact when they join the group, which prevents them from fighting one another in time of wars. To honor and reinforce their tradition, they refer to one another as ‘Brother’ and ‘Sister.’
Despite their kinship, the group promotes competition among their members so they always stay sharp and continue developing their skills. Although most hunts are done in small group or solo, there are times when hunters are summoned for Big-game Hunting, which may be a world-class catastrophe.
Vaska
The Monster Hunters bases of operations are called Vaska, which are big Viking-themed halls with a dozen of resting quarters, armories, forges, and more. Here, passing Hunters are offered free lodging as well as a hub to group up and prepare for their hunts. All Vaskas have a specialized smith and healer offering their services at a discounted price.
To maintain their competitive traditions, each Vaska houses a Hall of Glory. These halls span several floors below ground, as a space where hunters display their hunt trophies. Trophies are paired with a metal plate beneath inscribed with the name of the hunter it belongs to.
Operations
Monster Hunters compile rumors and quests involving dangerous monsters and posting them up in their main headquarters for members to check out. Due to the competitive nature of their work, many hunters will venture into the wilderness to find things that are worthy for them to hunt. Once they find a target, they will often enlist the help of other hunters or other adventurers.
Since the Monster Hunters have a lot of business ties with the Explorers League, the league will often recruit hunters to go along with their expedition.
During a massive catastrophe that involves a large monster, the Monster Hunters will always deploy all of their forces.
