Introduction
The name’s Izzy! I’m a newbie DM here that likes to develop the world through lots of small, fun encounters with the citizens of Terrasphere. I tend to focus on what relationships people can build and what impact your actions can have on the development of the NPCs.
I’m still pretty new to DMing, so I hope you all will have patience with me as I bring you through hell lead you on adventures!
General Preference
- Style: Fantasy RPG (think Bioware, Guild Wars 2, etc.)
- Genre: Slice-of-life, Fantasy
- Content: Side quests, Random Encounters, Dynamic Events
- Interested Themes: The Daily Life of Terrasphere, NPC Interactions and Relationships, Actions Have Consequences
- System: Relatively freeform with loose dice mechanics!
- Difficulty Range: Easy to Medium.
- Realism: ...Somewhat realistic? Consequences are everywhere.
Party Preference
- Size: Small groups! Usually somewhere between 1 - 5 players.
- Composition: Always approach events with the idea in mind that for some reason you are all working together. There will be no in-party combat on my watch!
- Tone: Varies per event! Generally serious.
- Creative Approach: I highly encourage really getting into your character’s shoes. Act how they would act, say what they would say. Get creative, try what you like, and if you’re ever uncertain, always feel free to contact me on Discord.
Interested Plots
- Daily Life of Terrasphere
- Random Character Development
What players can expect
There’s a great amount of freedom in my events - you can try to do anything you want. But that comes with the consequence that you won’t always succeed. Rolling is only to be done if prompted by me and you find out the results of what happens in the DM post. Sometimes you will succeed even without rolling - sometimes you will fail without rolling - sometimes you have to leave it up to luck. That decision will be made by me.
Everything has an impact on the future. Every NPC is part of a woven story and will be encountered more than once. I want my players to feel like this is a living, breathing world, and to feel like they are an actual part of it.
My expectation
I expect players to come to me if they have any questions or concerns. I am a friendly person, I promise! I ask that anybody involved in my events truly try to understand their own characters - it can be fun to mess around, but for me, these are ‘actual people’ you’re interacting with. Treat them so.
While I’m still very new, I still expect a level of respect from my players towards each other and towards me. In terms of respect, that means going yes, and, rather than BUT NO! We’re all writing a story together - do your best to work with your group members rather than trying to be the solo star of the show.
My Inspiration
Tabletop (D&D, Pathfinder), Bioware Games (Dragon Age, Mass Effects)
