Introduction
Hey everyone, my name is Asch and I am the main DM / site admin here. If you are a member of TS, chances are you will participate in one of my story or event at least once if not more. I have over nine years of on and off roleplaying, but only a couple of years of DM'ing.
Right off the bat, I will say that I am a very flexible DM who can accommodate a wide number of genre and player interaction that changes the stories in big ways thanks to my inclination for improvising. However, my content is highly challenging, but many people have said I am fair about it!
General Preference
- Style: Anime-ish, western medieval fantasy
- Genre: Fantasy, Horror
- Content: Story, puzzles, sandbox
- Interested Themes: Exploration, mystery, NPC interaction
- System: I enjoy both dice and freeform
- Difficulty Range: Challenging
- Realism: Moderately high, I avoid hand-waving things that don't make much sense
Party Preference
- Size: 4+ I enjoy big groups
- Composition: Balanced, the party must be able to cooperate in-character and have similar goal.
- Tone: Varies
- Creative Approach: I highly encourage creative solution to problems in my content, but try to keep them somewhat grounded in realism!
Interested Plots
- Faith I love any plot that involves exploring TS' religion and cults.
- Rift Travels I enjoy depicting other planes.
- Viking Anything involving Scandinavian raiding and seafaring is wonderful!
What players can expect
I'm allergic to puzzles, unlike Asch, and I'm allergic to JRPG, unlike Pandora. My content typically feels like you've walked into your typical open world fantasy game or been dropped into a West Marches campaign. The world is a big place and I enjoy getting lost in all the little places in it.
My content isn't very punishing, but your words and actions do have consequences. Beyond what is typical for a fantasy genre game, I generally keep things realistic in terms of combat and interaction with the world around you. I welcome thinking out of the box as well as in-depth exploration in an area. You'll find rewards awaiting you if you care about my content enough to want to know it.
Character development is something I enjoy playing with and testing. If you are involved in one of my events then chances are I've looked through your character and you may find hooks in my threads meant to catch their attention or test their resolve. If you ever have concerns, questions, or requests my inbox is always open. Keep in mind, however, that I am not beholden to your wishes.
My expectation
I expect players to be respectful of me and their party members, as well as being communicative. If players are confused about details or perhaps want some opinion on their interaction, they should asking for clarifications or discuss their ideas with me! I am very open about discussing these things.
Since I highly prefer for the group to cooperate and stay together, in-character and out of character compatibility is a must! I also expect my players to try and keep up with the pace of posting so the thread doesn't grind to a halt.
Lastly, careful reading is very important, please do your best to read mine and others' posts!
