Introduction
More monster than mortal, Ashifili delights in nothing more than to watch everything go full anime, complete with self-sacrifice, property destruction, and other high-power feats. Though often derided as an immoral sadist, what he truly seeks to bear witness to is the shine of victory after a desperate battle. To that end, he’ll push people to the breaking point, to see if they can reforge themselves into stronger beings after their inevitable shattering.
With ten years of roleplaying experience under his belt, and a wide variety of GMing platforms, from live tabletop to post-by-post, the only constant in his adventures is the bevy of suffering and glory that awaits.
General Preference
- Style: Anime-esque fantasy with dark tones, broken by moments of levity
- Genre: Action-Adventure, Melodrama
- Content: Combat Encounters, Challenges, DM'ed Quests
- Interested Themes: Heroic Sacrifices, Melodramatic Character Interactions, Desperate Struggles, Character Growth
- System: Site standard for combat. Freeform for exploration
- Difficulty Range: Lethal, regardless of who it’s for
- Realism: Consequences happen, NPCs react accordingly, not all enemies are stupid animals
Party Preference
- Size: 3 to 6
- Composition: Well-balanced regardless of difficulty level.
- Tone: Dramatic, Larger-Than-Life, Edgy
- Creative Approach: Some things can’t be solved by braindead rolling alone. I will always consider interesting ideas from players.
Interested Plots
- Glorious Battle with (World Changing) Consequences
- The Effects of Divine Intervention
- Adventurers being in over their heads
- Slice of Life segments featuring the lives of NPCs and Monsters
What players can expect
High stakes clashes, where victory and defeat is decided in a dramatic moment. Being pushed to the brink and being expected to surpass it. Mechanics-heavy combat that rewards strategy and allocation of resources. Encounters with NPCs that have their own place in the world, their own ulterior motives and morals. Hints of a greater plot even within ‘simple’ combat encounters. And above all, the ability to go super duper full ultra chuuni anime when the opportunity presents itself.
Go into my Challenges expecting high difficulty regardless of your Mastery and Equipment tiers, but also know that I will never drop something unexpected and idiotic like ‘rocks fall, people die’. There’s not a single mechanic or terrain advantage within my challenges that is superfluous, and you will be rewarded for utilizing them. And if there’s something you want to try, then, as long as it’s within reason, I’ll do my best to enable it. Ask me ‘how’ to do something, not ‘if’ you can.
Naturally, one can expect that great rewards will be presented for completing great tasks.
My expectation
I’ll do my best to kill you, so I’ll expect you to do your best to kill my monsters as well~ I like people who care about their character but also enjoy describing the suffering they’re put through. Ask questions for clarification, think critically about how to proceed, keep up with whatever posting speed is demanded of the particular thread, and, above all, be prepared for your character to change.
There will always be chances for heroism and glory within my threads. It makes me happy to see people rise up to the occasion and take that chance.
