Morality
Players are free to do anything they want in-game. Some may join groups of bandits to kill and pillage, while others try to defend the innocent. The game does not confine players to lawful activities. However, all actions in the game – be it good or evil – have consequences.
Freeform Roleplay
As the name suggests, members can create open or private threads and roleplay as they see fit. Staff will never interfere with regular roleplaying threads unless they violate the rules of the site.
Quests
Quest are structured roleplaying threads with a specific storyline or clear objectives.
- Quests can be found in the Quests board.
- These quests do not require a dungeon master (DM).
Challenges
Challenges are adventures run by a dungeon master (DM). The DM has full control over the story, NPCs, monsters, as well as the results of member actions. When the member engages in combat or interacts with important NPCs, the outcome of all actions are decided with dice rolls or by the DM.
When signing up for a challenge, mastery levels and equipment must be accounted for. Once a challenge has been completed, the participating members may receive rewards at the discretion of the DM.
- All challenges are death-enabled unless stated otherwise.
- The DM may skip turns if a member is unable to post within the time limit (i.e. 24 hours). They may also remove members from the thread after prolonged inactivity.
Events
Story Events
Terrasphere has an official storyline. This storyline is told through story events run by dungeon masters. Death is enabled for all of these events. Members are usually filled in along the way and will not need to have participated in prior events. Sign-ups are announced well ahead of the event and can be joined by all.
