Progression
Beginner | You have about 1 or 2 useful spells that you struggle to control. |
Novice | Your insignificant spell now actually hurt a little. You can kind of levitate things and cast other utility spells that all magic pratitioners are supposed to know. |
Trained | You have a set of spells that you use regularly and can use them effectively, although, your energy efficiency isn't quite up to par. |
Proficient | You are starting to get the whole concept of magic now and can cast spells competently. You are now starting to explore the more complicated spells. |
Adept | Complicated spells aren't so bad for you now. You can cast some of the big spells and continue to power up your previously simple set of spells. |
Expert | You are now a very capable spellcaster who can use both simple and complex spells without a problem. You have learned to manage your energy effectively, making it easier and less costly to cast smaller spells. |
Mastered | You have mastered your craft and can now cast two different spells simultaneously without exploding. |
Spellcasting Modes
Spellcasting requires an incantation specific to the spell be recited. Powerful spells take longer to channel and consume more energy. Injury or other distraction may interrupt spellcasting. There are two methods to cast spells in TS.
Assist Mode | In this mode, the user can simply swipe their hand in any direction to bring up a panel with available spells. Tap on a spell and they will automatically begin to recite. Once a spell is completed, the game will also assist the user with aiming to reduce the chance of missing. |
Free Mode | In this mode, the user must memorize the incantation of their spell and pronounce every word correctly or the spell will not cast. Worst, the wrong spell may go off. Once the spell is completed, the user will have to aim using their own skills. This mode allows one to quickly cancel their spell, switch to another one, or weave it into other attacks seamlessly rather than having to open your UI and scroll through the spell list. |
Miscellaneous
Energy Spellcasting consumes a great deal of energy (NPCs call it mana). Given that the energy to cast spell is the same as stamina, spellcasters should best avoid strenuous physical activity while they are using magic.
Mind Down A condition that triggers when a user's energy level hit zero, they will fall unconscious until energy recovers (if energy is fully depleted, it will take longer to recover naturally). Given this, physical fighters who use magic at the same time should carefully manage their energy.
Magical Tools These items helps user manage their energy more efficiently. It is only available if they took the Magic Foundation mastery.
