The Queen's Entrance

It was still dusk when the denizens of Harbard, a small town nestled in southern Brisshal, bordering Norfova, was woken by the sound of trees being trampled. Horrified by what he saw, the town watch sounded the alert as he spotted a massive female Dryder, whose body was completely covered in blood sores, and its eyes appear to be long dead. The watch happened to recognize that was the Queen of the giant spiders living deep in a forest near the town thanks to her distinguishable features.

When the entire town was woken up, some of which included players, who had access to the communication tool. With words traveling as fast as second, a makeshift squad of players was formed. Together, these players met with the spider queen in the forest where a battle ensued.

Given that players were still incredibly weak by this point as it had only been a month since the server had been opened, the fight went on and on as most players couldn’t even hit her amid the thick forest. It was only until most of the trees had been mowed down that they started to be able to deal damage to the grotesque monster.

The Brotherhood

As the battle raged on, the Ynglar Brotherhood eventually arrived on scene, though it was only a handful of agents who were rather skeptical by the reports they had heard. Upon confirming the presence of the tainted she-beast, the agents worked together to summon a massive arcane beam from the sky that deal a large amount of damage on the queen, though, it wasn’t nearly enough as the players continued the fight.

When the agents were asked about Arachna, they mentioned that it must have been the cultist activities in Norfova and the sudden appearance of the Bloodthrone Mountain that are responsible for the corrupted spider queen. The fact that a gargantuan mountain composed of translucent blood crystal suddenly appeared out of nowhere (the Bloodthrone Mountain) meant that the fallout of the magic, namely Hemomancy must have tainted the water sources in Norfova and parts of Brisshal. It did surprise them to witness something as powerful and as ancient as Arachna to be corrupted by blood magic. It became the ground for worries for the Brotherhood and their desire to police exotic magic.

Enraged

With sheer tenacity, the squad of players and NPCs were eventually able to bring Arachna’s heath below 30%; however, the queen entered an enraged form, where her humanoid body was completely replaced by a spider form. As a gargantuan spider, Arachna then started deal extremely punishing damage at players, one guy was eaten alive while another girl was completely melted into a puddle of flesh. The rest were struck down by the spider’s dagger-sharp quills that were the size of spears.

Victory

After a long and costly battle, the spider queen was defeated, the final blow dealt by Felicitas Hellewege. However, it wasn’t before she rained her deadly quills down on everyone within the immediate vicinity, killing them as she collapsed and dried up.

Until now, Arachna was still one of the bloodiest boss fight in all of Terrasphere, signified by the number of players who had received “Arachnaphobia” as a Death Affliction.
