Preface

Cleave weapons are represented by axes that range from small to massive, narrowed to thick. These weapons are versatile, though takes advantage of momentum for deadlier attacks. Cleave polearms cannot be used in small spaces because they can't generate power.

Cleave weapons feature heavy cuts that can sunder armor and gore targets. It excels in situations where continual sawing is necessary.

Strengths: Attacking heavy armor, sawing, goring, deep wounding
Weaknesses: Rock, ice coating, etc

Weapon Types

Cleaver (One or two-handed) Best type for sawing instead of hacking like axes.
Axe (One or two-handed) Versatile and great in short reach / up close.
Great Axe (Two-handed) Powerful and slow, great for sundering armor and attacks meant to hack and gore.
Poleaxe (Polearm: Two-handed) Longer reach and higher power to devastate enemy, but make up for in speed.
Halberd (Polearm: Two-handed) Powerful but slow, great for attacking multiple enemies at the same time.
Scythe (Polearm: Two-handed) Its massive reach can bypass shield, but makes completely useless up close and in narrowed spaces. It's quieter than other types.

Progression

Beginner You can wave your weapon around; that ought to hit something in front of you.
Novice You can wave your weapon around more effectively now; it will definitely hit something if your aim isn't off.
Trained Your attacks have some kind of form now and you're starting to discover some skills and mechanics that you can perform somewhat reliably.
Proficient You can now proficiently wield a weapon in combat. You have found a particular fighting style that you are most comfortable with. You also have a good set of skills that you can perform with confidence.
Adept You have the basics down pat and are now starting to explore the more complex skills that require a lot more precise execution. You also unlocked complex skills and are beginning to bridge together attacks to perform basic combos.
Expert You have mastered basic stances and movements and can effectively execute movesets associated with your weapon. You are honing and making your attack combos more efficient.
Mastered You now have powerful combos and series of attacks that leave your opponent devastated if not dead.
